With it being $120, it’s the same price as the epic dragon battle from 2012. While that set was a little pricey back then, it had a large dragon, a sizable, secondary build, and great play value. So, with all things considered, I think this set is reasonably priced for what you get.
FINALLY they did ankles where they just doubled up the ball joints! And the idea of attaching the "helper limb" with a rubber connector is quite genious, I gotta say! The articulation is still quite limited, but significantly less so than all the other large poseable figures they did in the past decade! And in many more ways, the dragon's just epic! And the villainous mech is also quite good! Man, this is a set I really like!
13:51 Really off topic but the blue background lights reflect off the pac man set so well! It makes it look closer to the arcade game. Not sure if intentional but will try that lighting on the set if I get it.
Wish the Empress mech was available on it's own, the sword is amazing, the slender proportions are unusual for a lego mech and it even has full knees and elbows for once!
Getting Warhammer 40K Sisters of Battle/Adepta Sororitas vibes from that Empress Mech. Bit sad that it doesn't come as a set on its own; it'd make a great base for a Paragon Warsuit.
I like the look of the bad guy mech if only it was a standalone set. Not a fan of Ninjago series but they do give very cool looking bad guy minifigure designs that can be reused in other custom themes.
Excellent review jang, seeing this in comparison with you actually sold me on getting it. the dragon looks incredible. however could i ask maybe in the future you could compare the mech to other ninjago mechs, so we can see how it scales with others released recently.
I bought this set and I’m impressed with the actual things presented to me in the set. It’s quite well done. What I’m not impressed with and am finding to be more and more common is the quality of parts. So many of mine came scratched, scuffed or otherwise damaged. All of my ninjago sets from this season have more than a handful of damaged pieces. The quality control I’ve experienced is egregious. And this is on top of off coloured stickers that don’t match the bricks and the print on the stickers being chalky. I know lego will replace them but the fact this is so, so common is endlessly annoying. This is a premium toy and my building experiences have felt less and less with each new set I buy.
So I get Lego's approach to pretend that Bionicle never happened. But what I don't get is how come System builds never got the equivalent to the Piston system that large Bionicle builds used to have. It worked very well and those were mostly Technic pieces, so I am not even sure why it would go away with Bionicle.
Now that I see this review after today's episode of the Bad Batch, this dragon reminds me a lot of the Zillo beast. I think that would make a great star wars set!
I think the flaws are quite nicely mitigated by the partsforming "transformation" feature. It turns a cool looking dragon into a truly epic looking one. As for the Empress mech, that sword is absolutely ludicrous and impractical, but as a toy for kids, it works.
If anything I wish then I could get this set Oh so I don’t think the ball joint going down is a issue for play because children can discover it and then they can use it for play
Hey look guys, it's Dragon Bolt. Man when the said the different realms from across the Multiverse merged in Ninjago they weren't kidding. 😸 "Sigh" Man alive, I miss Hero Factory.
I wish the mech itself was it’s own set

12:35 I love that the ninja get all new face prints this wave! I had like 12 of the really angry Zane face so it’s really nice to see something new.
The coral pink character has a great design for a figure.
It’s the upgraded version of Jay’s elemental dragon from Skybound I could’ve never dreamed of.
I like this, the dragon looks good, the mech looks good. It feels like a throwback to older Ninjago while also feeling new and creative.

This is my favourite set of the new ninjago wave, the dragon looks like a trex it’s so cool
I want this one the most because the bad guys finally have a good chance to fight!
Wish the Empress mech was available on it's own, the sword is amazing, the slender proportions are unusual for a lego mech and it even has full knees and elbows for once!
This set is wonderful. The different posture for the dragon is very refreshing and we even got a mid-sized mech with great articulation!
Nice build, honest review, lovin’ your channel as always Jang!
The new trend of sur modularity is brilliant and that empress mech is spectacular
Getting Warhammer 40K Sisters of Battle/Adepta Sororitas vibes from that Empress Mech. Bit sad that it doesn't come as a set on its own; it'd make a great base for a Paragon Warsuit.
The dragon is AWESOME too, though!
LOVE the gold double pistols! So cool!
And that dragon is pretty slick. Wish the wings could turn back, but other than that it looks great!
Love this set, got it for about 90$ so I'm very happy with the amount of stuff in it.
This set looks amazing, I really love the Ninjago series 😄Great video!
genuinely one of the best sets ninjago has ever released
I really like how they did the weapon for the mech
Both the mech and dragon look like revamped versions of the cheap ones we got from evo and I love it!
One of the best Ninjago sets ever.
Kardas Dragon won me over... good reference point!
That cat-ear hoodie piece still has me hoping for a the owl house set line, it's be so perfect... TwT

Hey Jang how do you manage to keep your pace when building so many sets back to back? Especially ones you might not like?
Another great review Jang. Love your videos
I really wish it was cheaper, but I will probably get it anyways because of how nice it is
The US price of course is out of whack compared to Euro prices but a very nice set and love the looks of the lightning dragon.
I wasn't going to get more than the mech bike set but now i may have to reconsider.
It's been a while since I've seen bionicle style ball joints and It appears that they got redesigned which is quite interesting
Nice review! I was thinking on getting this set but I already have the figs from the other sets I really love the dragon tho
Empress Mech is giving me some Black Legion vibes... "Let the galaxy burn," Butcher's nails, and eyes of Horus wouldn't be out of place here.
The dragon is Just Lovely 🐉💙⚡️💙⚡️💙⚡️💙⚡️🐉
It's weirdly only $129 AUD ($88USD) at Kmart stores here. The Lego store has it at $169.99 ($116.79SUSD). Our on shelf prices include tax too
Wow looks awesome great review
Wonderful set, a perfect Christmas gift :)
The dragons they've been going lately are great, but I still don't like those new head molds.
Empress mini-figure reminds me of Eliza Coupe from Future Man so I love that figure.
The set should have been $100, I really like the big dragon.
Thank you for mentioning the canadian prices!
I remember that music, you used it when reviewing some of my favorite like galaxy squad and old ninjago
Same it’s so nostalgic
Oooooo i see a set im save up for LOL. A dragon and a mech, yes pls!!
Excellent review jang, seeing this in comparison with you actually sold me on getting it. the dragon looks incredible. however could i ask maybe in the future you could compare the mech to other ninjago mechs, so we can see how it scales with others released recently.
It does look super cool, though the proportions are a bit funky. Very lanky neck

Looks amazing great review
Well Jang...one day, hopefully we'll get a Lego X Bandai cross-over then you can panel line away without worries.
This reminds me of a blue-tongued lizard.
The most recent ninjago dragons have been so good

Reminds me of xeno jiiva from monster Hunter!
Now that I see this review after today's episode of the Bad Batch, this dragon reminds me a lot of the Zillo beast. I think that would make a great star wars set!
Awesome set, it should be cheaper though
Reminds me of a space marine

Found this and other sets 50% off at Walmart. Can’t beat that
No Spare Hairpieces?
ohwell, would have been nice if the figures had an un-hooded option...
well would you look at that!
You referenced Bionicle like 3 times in this video. 3? That means gen 3 is confirmed!!!
wish the wings were bigger looks to thin other wise good set
If anything I wish then I could get this set
Oh so I don’t think the ball joint going down is a issue for play because children can discover it and then they can use it for play
Hey look guys, it's Dragon Bolt. Man when the said the different realms from across the Multiverse merged in Ninjago they weren't kidding. 😸
"Sigh"
Man alive, I miss Hero Factory.
Is the dragon finicky? The neck looks a bit weak.
I got it for 75$ it was on clearance for some reason
The box WAY under sells this set.
If only it wasn’t overpriced
Amazing set but IMO once again its simply overdesigned.
Ras could use chima wolf head mold though as he is supposed to be from there.
