Mankind is getting exactly what they deserve for trying to build a future without their Creator (Jesus Christ). _And it'll only get worse._ *"Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."*
The end of this song is haunting. The entire composition seems to refer to a bustling metropolis, but those last few bars recall a country highway; a lone truck stop, tumbleweeds, and a 65 mph speed limit under a dark night sky.
I get the feeling like the power just shut off with that last Rift Feels like the song is building and building and the power cant keep up so you get a backout.
When I hear this song, my heart cries... It reminds me of a girl I was in a relationship with, but it's all over now. She is Chinese, and she lived in a relatively new city that was built not too long ago. The districts of that city reminded me of SimCity. Especially the area by the sea, that place stayed in my heart. The city itself had a unique charm. I still miss her, even though due to certain circumstances we can't be together. We used to have long conversations about our dreams and future plans, which now feel like a distant memory. She was the first girl to whom I gave a beautiful Bouquet... It's been 4 years since we broke up. Her family made her cut off all contact with me and even change her phone number. I remember the days we spent exploring the city, trying new foods, and simply enjoying each other's company. The memories are bittersweet, and sometimes they feel like they were just yesterday. I hope she is happy now, and that life has been kind to her. I still love her, and a part of me always will.
When I'm driving on LA freeways late at night, 3:30 plays in my head as I'm admiring all the downtown city lights speeding by without worrying about traffic.
you do make a good point the new ones where you have to have a "all the time" internet connection is BS if you ask me.. some people with Satellite internet can't stay online 24/7 trust me i'd know before we moved from NC out in the sticks we had a 15GB limit and it was 5,10,15,20 and twenty was the max so online connection with the new games i can do now that i have DSL which is still better then SAT internet. but yes the last good game was the Rush hour pack which if it will work on windows 7,8,10 then im going to buy it again
I could never get SC4 to run right on any computer and to be honest, from what gameplay I did see, I preferred SC3k. However....SC4 had awesome music tracks, this being one of 2 favorites.
It feels like the city is being built at 16x speed in the intense sunlight and wide grassland. The early intro was ahead of its time. It's constructive, pioneering, and feels very expansive.
This music makes me think of an uncorrupted city where every single city official is doing their job at their best. There is no corruption in Sim City anyways.
Andrejs Petersons Clearly you haven't played Simcity 2013 (or not as much). OmegaCo and Dr. Wu are the antagonists in the new Simcity. Also, crime is prevalent in the earlier SimCity games, just not as obvious due to engine and coding restrictions.
David Brown Yeah, I really haven't played SC5, I didn't like the strict connection between zone density and road size, also the map size is ridiculous. On my previous comment I was really focusing on city officials, such as head of city safety, education, social security, the staff that doesn't always appear in SC, but they are there just doing their job as good as they can in the best of city's interests. You don't have to deal with bribery issues when, let's say, some company wants to sell their products to your city at a higher price and lower quality, and your city officials are involved, do you? However, you can still imagine that it happens anyways, we just don't see it. That's different. I tend to think there's no corruption and bribery behind all that in SC.
+Andrejs Petersons Would I count as corrupt if I cut funding to all the schools and hospitals in my city + skyrocketed taxes just so I could afford to build my awesome mayor mansion and statues all over the place?
Soundtrack of my teenage years. So many hours spent playing SC4 and listening to one of the best PC game soundtracks created IMO. Electric City sounds inspired by "Keep Hope Alive" by The Crystal Method BTW.
This song makes me think of taking a drive through a brightly-lit area like Paradise NV or Times Square, with neon signs and vibrant nightlife everywhere. And then the ending really emulates that feeling of finally crashing on your bed after coming home from your journey.
This song reminds me of looking to my left..where my copy of Sim city 4 is.. feeling more distraught each passing moment I listen to this song.. I can't take it anymore, going to play! Ty for the inspiration beautiful music!
This reminds of a race tune where everyone runs from the starting line at 1:30 , jump through an obstacle, walk on a big seesaw and move in a curved line over some big poles and wins the race.
When I was able to play this game whenever this song played I stopped and just... listened. This was by far my favorite song in the whole game. Now that I lost the key to install the game and lost my old PC in a flood, whenever the first few seconds of the song play, it brings back long lost memories...
You can probably get a PC that fulfills the performance requirements for the original Simcity 4 Deluxe for pretty cheap these days. And the game only cost $20. You can also download it electronically now so that you dont need a CD to play.
I've always love this music sound track compare to any song on any simcity game. This song brings you into the moment of all the functions of your city as it grows right before your eyes. Honestly I like SIMCITY 2013 due to the actual simulation, but they could at least gave the sound tracks a modern beat in which plays in the moment of ones actions through game play. Ps: to this song I still love the sounds of "mmmm" at the ending makes it even more special.
This song...not sure what it about it, but I can easily picture it as being a theme song for any of my novels. It just has that kind of heroic, action-filled appeal to it.
When I first played this, I was fairly young. Being in grade school, the micro management felt like I became an all powerful being. I stayed up as late as I could, customizing every part of the city of the future. To this day, Sc200 and Sc3000 really don't attract me, they seem waay too simple.

I found out listening to this that this was by The Humble Brothers which made other awesome electronic tracks in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, Blackhole, Brakestand and Sphere.
You can put it in creator mode by copying it into the right file. You'll have to go into program files on your HD and find SC4 then find the music files. pretty simple process.

Probably that was the author's vision of this track: to go through a bustling metropolis, even including the outer parts, starting from the center.

Genre: Progressive Breaks
DomZeal thanks m8!
DomZeal isn't ambient?
no, it is progressive breaks. this sorta breakbeat music was popular in video games back then.
