You mentioned they look like dad's car, R32 GT-R comes to mind. To me, it does look like one as the R32 is just a chassis code and the GT-R is based off the production R32. You got R32 sedan and you can stuff an R32 GT-R's RB26 in it.

The R32 Skyline GT-R does look like a dad's car to me. It is based off a production car chassis. The R32 is just a chassis code. You even got people stuff in an RB26DETT (Skyline GT-R's engine) into an R32 Skyline sedan, a freaking family sedan.

jtcc/btcc is a ‘saloon’ (aka sedan) race series. Give either a series a google search for a specific explanation. This episode is highlighting race cars pulled from different jdm race series and pitting them against each other for fun.

The 4 door sedan only weighs about 30lbs more than the coupe so it really isn't a big difference considering how much weight reduction track cars have. At least with the accord I know that is the case.
