Actually, yeah, I was wondering something, it's about the belts… if you're going to eat or sit down or something while wearing a kimono, won't those belts being so tightened, make your belly hurt or have bad digestion? Just curious since you seemed to tighten them up very hard haha. Maybe it's just might imagination, but i'm still curious.
Ah good question :) I sit down and stand up many times while I wear kimono, but I haven't felt that way by sitting down. I think that's because the tightened part is not the center of waist but it's the bottom area of waist. It's like putting your stomach on the belt. When I first started to wear kimono, I didn't know this trick and had kinda stomach ache when I wore kimono all day.

Hello, I recently went to Japan and am still learning about the customs regarding clothing. Recently I wore a samue top with a western-style shirt underneath and khaki pants, and some people directly told me or implied (by asking if I was cold) that my outfit wasn't recommended for winter. One person even said it was "summer clothing" (but he may have mistaken it for jinbei). Is there a tendency to wear samue during certain seaons? I have heard online that it is all-season clothing. I also wondered if I could wear an outer layer like a jacket or haori to avoid getting cold. However, I have never seen anyone wearing outer layers over a samue. I have also heard that haori are traditionally meant to be worn in an extremely formal manner with kimono (I heard that wearing haori is more formal than just wearing kimono). Would it be strange to wear haori over samue? I cannot find any advice on this online, but the same man who told me that samue were summer clothing recommended not to combine them. Any advice is appreciated!
Hi, thanks for learning Japanese culture. First of all, I'm sad to hear that someone denies you though you're just trying to learn it. - samue is a work wear for all season. But it depends on the fabric. When it's thin, it's for summer. When it's thick, it's for winter. When it's middle, it's for spring and fall. - Jinbei is for summer. - The combination of haori and samue may look weird or new. For Japanese perspective, I haven't seen such coordination, but it may be good for foreigners to combine them and make a new wind to Japanese tradition world. In the world of Sushi, California roll makes Japanese people have fun. - Haori formality depends on the situation. Now I wear a cotton haori on Yukata and this coordination is very casual. But silk haori plus silk kimono can be formal.
Very nice and kawaii. I wish to have a jupan to wear it under my Yukata for Matsuri 日本. Could you show how to fold a yukata/kimono and other cloth. Does the Yukata need to be iron before folding. (How to iron) Arigatō gozaimasu
Thank you Thomas. Well, you can wear Yukata without a juban. I know lol , you don't have to wear inner shirt in Juban (the first layer) if it's hot. when it's cold, you should wear something inside. But don't you wear inner shirt, normal shirt, sweater, jacket and coat when it's cold? it's like that ;)
