That’s so funny! I just checked out your channel a hour ago saw no new updates…. Then fast forward to now..here you are! Awesome man! Been routing for you! From one Garboligist to another…..”Stay trashy, my friend!💪🙏”
In my 4th year now. 36 yrs old. 1 roll off truck, about to get a second. 11 roll off dumpsters, 2 dump trailers. A dodge ram 2500 to pull the trailers, purchased by my business. Started with a switchngo, and that's what I have now. Recently learned that the stellar hooklift is compatible with the sng's, which I am completely stoked about. So my new truck will have a stellar, and I'll need to weld on hooks to each of my dumpsters which is more than fine. But this business has been good. Steadily growing. Started with a truck and a landscape trailer. Was inspired by Martin Extrordinair. Not enough people give that guy the respect he deserves. They do quite the opposite actually. But I guarantee, if it weren't for him, many of these guys wouldn't be in business today. But I've watched your content the whole time as well, as well as lifes apprectice, american af, same day, etc.
Been watching you since the beginning. I’m 23 this will be year 10 for me. I keep thjngs debt free. I can say that I don’t loose sleep at night. I won’t grow as fast as other people but I’m fine with that. Love what you’re doing and I think you made a great decision. Just like you said if you need the truck in the future you can buy it. Keep up the great work brother
long time follower, glad to see you back, very smart move, you have to think long term. i am 58, and this year going to make start dumpster biz. never to late . looking forward to see video's from you.
I’m 33 doing PJ Septic pumping Roll off and residential pick up but I’m selling my house to move in to a house with less payment and then down size also my business honestly it’s expensive too grow and run these days and hard to find good help
I understand not wanting debt, that's a good practice but I can't imagine going back to throwing bags after having a cart tipper! You guys are still young but that takes a toll on your body. Good luck.
Awesome! Welcome back thank you for your videos they are really helpful and you inspire myself to grow my business so thank you!! Just wondering where you purchase your hooklift cans from? I own my own junk removal business and I get tons of calls for dumpster rentals and I've been looking into adding that side of the business to my junk removal business
How do you find if an area is under a contract with a bigger company for residential garbage? And is it possible to work in the same area that already has a company working?
Are those single cab fords hooked up to the dump trailer the 6.8 gasser? How do they tow? I currently use a 2013 6.7 f250 and was debating on getting a 6.8 to use as my daily driver and use as a backup truck if the diesel goes down. Because you can get a brand new 2023 single cab for like 44k
We don’t have to back into many driveways or turn arounds with the way the route is set up now so we don’t burn them anywhere near the way we did starting out
@lakechamplainsanitation7226 thanks for the reply. I've been running a year with a truck and trailer set up and am changing a tire about every two months. I do alot of backing into driveways especially on the rural. Great content man keep it up.
Very smart. Doing this gives you a little less stress in needing to make certain numbers. And like you said. All goes down hill, sell the trucks, trailers and dumpsters and out 200k in your pocket
Started landscaping at 15 got into dumpsters at 20. Got 6 roll offs and a trailer setup. Going to be 22 this year working on restarting a bigger landscaping business. I sold most of my maintenance customers and all of that “lawncare” equipment to grow the landscaping projects.
Been watching your channel for a long time, thanks for the update, nice to see y'all are still doing well. I'm just someone on the sidelines who finds the waste industry interesting but IMO the changes make sense to me. For the residential hauling while you didn't mention this specifically I'd think being able to just run out and buy (or insurance rental replace) another HD pickup quickly in the event of one of them getting hit by a bad driver is yet another reason to stay with more basic equipment if that's all you need. The mini packer was cool but yeah the numbers just don't justify the expense. Curious, are those roll-offs available with some sort of lid cover option? I wonder if in your area you could offer commercial waste hauling to a few accounts that way, where instead of a couple 2yd dumpsters you just have a lidded roll-off bin you pickup every week or two and dump and bring back.
Thank you for the response! 100% agree with the truck replacement being so much quicker in a worst case scenario and they are also way simpler to maintain. They do make roll offs with lids in various sizes and we have been doing some research to see how to be competitive with front load containers from a serviceability schedule standpoint.
I'm just looking into this as a part time to full time deal over the course of 3 years. With that being said, If you were just starting out and this is your side hustle, which would you go with, the roll off dump bins or the dump trailers? Thanks in advance.
@@lakechamplainsanitation7226 @lakechamplainsanitation7226 making a list of questions to ask. Not even sure where to start. I've been down a CDL rabbit hole last few days and my head is spinning. I saw a dot number on your truck so I assumed CDL but I just realized that isn't the case. However I see you have 14k dump trailers which I believe do require CDL??? Another question for the call. Also if I understand correctly a CDL is not required for a hooklift truck with a GVWR less than 26,001#? ❤

It’s definitely more manual but having everything curbside and bagged has truly made a difference not pulling carts out or dumping them by hand

39 years old been doing roll offs since 2017 and residential since 2020.
I have really missed your videos
36 contractor but I haul lots of debris. You got a great set up.
Do you find the pick and go brings more opportunities/ more profitable than the dump trailer?
The truck (Hooklift) we like way better for dumpster rentals . Junk removals and curbside we like the dump trailers at this point
Good stuff man,
How do you find if an area is under a contract with a bigger company for residential garbage? And is it possible to work in the same area that already has a company working?
That’s a great question. Potentially call the local municipal department

Yes the 2024 is and we like it so far slightly more power than the old 6.2 but it has the 10 speed
how do you keep control on payments for the weekly trash pickup?
Do your trailers eat tires running them like that?

What are your thoughts on buying an already up and running business? It’s around 600k revenue.
A lot of factors to consider. If the business is healthy and the ROI is there and reasonable it could be a great opportunity!
@@lakechamplainsanitation7226 thanks for the reply! What kind of questions would be good to ask if the business is healthy?
i have 300k cash saved and want to start this business full time. Go big and buy $100k worth of trailers or start small?
Hey what length dumpsters do you put on that F650
Ours is actually an F600 and we run 14’ cans
We're ya been???
Glad you still kept the garbage collection business and get ready of the packer . Cheers to 2024
What do you net on that 500k?
It's a lot, not "alot"

As we talked a few weeks ago
A compactor as one purpose
We are now over 850 house
We run 2 trucks a and still have time for junk removal and dumpsters
Awesome man! I totally agree with the 2 truck (open trucks) set up especially when offering more services
Wooohooo
Love the content have you looked into cart tippers for the f250 and what think about a stand on skid steer for junk removal and small dirt jobs
Yes we are looking into some new ways to make more revenue with our current equipment this year!
You did what we did. And we started 2024 further ahead than we could imagine. Keep driving and thriving brother!
Awesome!! Thanks! Have a great 2024!
How many residential customers are you able to fit with that set up? I’ve got a 14’ dump trailer as well and thinking about adding that.
Roughly 65-70 per load

Awesome Job.
