My first real deep dive into the Calendar and this was really helpful and understanding how it works and integrates with the rest of the google ecosystem
Steve, I've watched you on tv and at your channel for a few years now. Still, you are one of the BEST in this type of tutorial training!!! You make things flow properly, at the right tempo, and not too techie so that's it's ENJOYABLE to learn from and with you! I've just added you to my subscriptions so I don't miss your productions! Thanks so much!
I just discovered this guy's vids and I love how he breaks things down and he's so clear with his explanations that I don't feel like a "slow pork" with his IT related instructions. Even though I was already familiar with the basic use of gmail, for the last video in this series, that filter part might be a life changer for me. My new favourite tech instruction TH-camr. I'm excited about watching this video and I usually try to shy away from tech instruction vids that are longer than 5 minutes.
One of your best info videos yet. I'm a heavy Google calendar user and you scored highlights that gave me ideas for more out-of-the-box uses I had not thought about. Great post!
thank you so much for this... I have always been intimidated of using technology but now that I am going full force with work and homeschooling my daughter, I'm finding that I need a better way to get organized. I cant wait to get in to the rest of this series!
I've been using technology in some shape or form since the mid-70's and have adapted and accepted it as part of my life. The Google Suite is an overall awesome tool for productivity. Couldn't live without it today, however, I can't even begin to imagine how we all managed before this technology came along and took over. Progress?
I'm preparing to teach a beginner's course on the Google Ecosystem and your videos have been very helpful. Thank you for these very clear and well organized videos, sir!
Steve - another great video in a really concise format. I do consider myself to be a Google Fanboy and fairly expert user. But I wasn't aware of the good zoom integration, for example.
Love your information. I've seen many of your episodes. One problem I have that is in printing the Google Calendar. I use both Apple and a PC, so Google calendar is a perfect fit. However, I like to print out my weekly and monthly calendars and Google's printout is too difficult to read. I've tried different settings within the print window and none of them make the calendar very readable. I find that actually writing out events helps me to "own" them. I transfer the events to the computer afterwards. BTW, I use a iPhone and find that when I enter info on the calendar there I inadvertently mess up something else. Entering info on the iPad is no problem. But I don't lug my iPad everywhere. My calendar printout from MS Outlook is my choice look. Thank you for any help you can offer.
Regarding recurring events: Scheduling my payday is more like scheduling Easter than normal events. I get paid on the first Friday following the 17th day of every month. Most often it is the 3rd Friday of the month, but that is not always the case, for example January, 2021. How do I put my payday event on Google Calendar?
Another question. For a small business with 2 locations, does Google offer a contact management system for retail. Or what Company does one that integrates with Google. Many I have looked at are for large teams. We only have 6 employees
Is it possible to move one of more events from one calendar to another? I know I can copy it and have the event in different calendars, but I just want to move it and show in just one.
Steve, I am sure you already know, but touching on your integration of all things Google together; When I book flights I use Gmail as my confirmation email address. In doing so, when the confirmation email comes in, Google takes the email and updates my calendar automatically for the flight date and time, both departing and arriving home. It tell me, like you noted, when to leave for the airport with current traffic and it lets me know of any flight delays. It has become invaluable to me.
Very good video as always, Steve. I started using calendars a few months ago. I put my appointments on it and when I say "Good Morning" to my Google Home, she reads my calendar for the day. How cool is that?
Crisp, clear information. Would love to know if/how a gmail message can be 'translated', morphed, imported, anythinged into an event in google calendar. Thank you for your productions. :-)
Is there any way to track how many events or appointments have been made? As a school counselor graduate I would like to track how many lessons have been done.
Howdy Steve a got a question for you.I'm thinking on start using google calendar so this video is great but since I'm living in Mexico nternet is not a s stable as in the States or Canada, and sometimes I don't have internet and I need to set an appointment and that's the reason I've been using a different calendar, so My question is the following. Is there a way to see the calendar in the PC if I am not on line?, thanks foe the time in answering this question. As always great video.
Thanks Steve! You mentioned there's a possible way of "integrating" a Skype for Business into a Google Calendar event (you did so with Zoom). Could you please elaborate on how to do it or refer me to another relevant source of info?
Great video. Can you maybe explain, how to change the color of an Agenda? I have added a new agenda but I want to change the color to the same color as I have on my phone. But I cannot find out where I can change the color of an agenda. I know I can change the color of an event, but that's not what I am looking for. Many thanks for your help.
Hi Steve, I love your stuff. Did you do a video on integrating a personal google calendar with a business google calendar? I have a private gmail account and a business gmail account and would like to see my personal events in my business calendar but haven't been able to make it work.
Hi Steve Great Video, could you tell me if its possible to send meeting invites from an alternative email (business email) which has been verified rather than it defaulting to the gmail address which i use as my personal email ? thank you
Thanks so much for this video - and all of your videos and now your WONDERFUL podcast!! LOVE it! I have been using my Mac built in calendar (iCal) for YEARS. I can see where Google Calendars is quite a step up from what I've been doing. However - I have a TON of appts scheduled into the future on my existing iCal calendar. Is there a way to import them into a Google Calendar? And also - I have several Google email accounts. Does it matter which one I use to set up the calendar?? And will appt that are sent to me on different google email addresses all show up in this one calendar??? Hope I explained that correctly. I want to make the switch - but I'm a little nervous due to these questions. I also love the idea of having my kids share their calendars with me (they might not love it!!). Thanks so much!
Steve, love your videos. Do you have one on printing labels? I tried using the app google suggested, avery label merger. but it keeps changing my phone numbers into random letters when I try printing. I have written to google and avery about the problem but have not heard back and wondered if you have had this problem. thanks for all your informative videos, have learned a lot of nw things from them
I noticed your links called related videos in your notes. The 5 must know google drive tips video is "not available". Is this a private link? And I use multiple google drives and recently subscribed to G-Suite and am very confused why certain drives default my sign-in to somewhere I don't wish to be signed in on. Can you explain multiple drives and what you need to know if you have multiple email addresses/drives. Thanks, Steve. Excellent content!
It might be worth noting that you can also create a calendar entry directly from Gmail. Go to the vertical ... above the email and select Create an Event.
It might seem opposite to what ur showing but subscribed to Canadian Holidays twice & I know it should be easy but no matter what I try I can’t unsubscribe can you help?
I know these are the small annoying things but if you use shared calendars and create one event there, when someone else moves it, you dont get notified, do you?
I was actually thinking about using a paper planner for 2019. But then I thought why do I want to go back to that? It doesn't fit in my pocket like my mobile phone. After watching this video and realizing appts can carry notes and then sync with Google Maps, it's a no brainer to stay digital. With your earlier video on Google Keep, I can now have notes and to-do lists, etc. I just realized that my kids don't even know what a paper planner / organizer is. Lol.
Why does my Google calendar jump all around the place? Click a date and it shoots off somewhere else. Create an event and I guarantee it will change the dates unexpectedly. Very frustating.
I use Google Calendar, and have synchronized it between my iMac, my MacBook, and my iPhone. I love the fact that I can create an appointment on any of my devices, and it automatically syncs between all of them. However, any time I set an email notification for a given appointment, I typically get an inbox filled with duplicated messages, sometimes as many as TWELVE of them over two days. The support FAQ pages at Google really doesn’t offer any sort of remedy or work-around for this. What say you?
I have not watched the vid, so please forgive me if it's already answered in this video and you can ignore my question. I have always worked more with written to do lists. I know that the to do list function is possible on Google Calendar, but I don't want to mix my personal life events/tasks with work tasks/events using my work gmail account, even though I'm using a personal device. Is it possible to create a schedule for your work on Google Calendar, save it on your work gmail (where a copy will stay) but also import a copy to your personal Google calendar so that you can continue including tasks in your personal life? I apologise for the long comments...Two comments instead of one are good for your channel though. :-)
I want Google to deliver on its promise. I really do. Windows never did become user friendly and veered completely off course with 8 and then 10. But Google is super close to full integration. But they must be skimping on beta testing. Before I, the end user, discover that I can't enter my vacation flight data and itinerary into their calendar, some non-geek in a lab should have discovered the problem and pointed it out to the developers. So often I hit spots in Google apps where some obvious function just isn't there, or some useless data that I don't have anyway is required, stopping me dead at that point. Oh, and have you ever searched for a help list and the screen doesn't match the instructions. "Step one, start at a place in settings we didn't tell you how to find. Step two, click the button that doesn't exist. Step three, select the menu item that isn't there, etc." And apps are going to drive trucks and busses? We're doomed.
The real question is why google calendar is connected to everything but google tasks in the mobile version??? It would be much more efficient, at least to me. I could see my appointments for the day and also my tasks, as going to the grocery store, in one place ! 🙄
Hi Steve I have been searching the net for an answer for this question - when I get sent an invite to my gmail app where the sender is using my alternate gmail address e.g pierre@****.co.uk on my iPhone X I can only get it to show in my ICal not in my google calendar app on my iPhone. Please can you help me? I love your videos, and Grey Matters is an excellent podcast. I have such respect for you!!!
Hi Steve, this is Very good about this calendar topic 👌 I like it.

brilliant. I've used Google Calenders for years.... this was a good little refresher. Thanks Steve!
This is just outstanding!
Coherent, informative, very useful
thank you so much for this... I have always been intimidated of using technology but now that I am going full force with work and homeschooling my daughter, I'm finding that I need a better way to get organized. I cant wait to get in to the rest of this series!
Fantastic Steve. I just now learned so much from this latest on Google Calendars.
Love your videos. Clear, fun , interesting

Great and informative video -as always!!!! Keep up the good work 👏
Steve - another great video in a really concise format. I do consider myself to be a Google Fanboy and fairly expert user. But I wasn't aware of the good zoom integration, for example.
Best Yet. Cant wait for Google Drive.

I have a basic question. How can I have the description show up as I look at the view of my month or week. Now all I see is the one line
Like Your videos about google ecosystem,,
Great stuff! Great Series- 👍
Thank you Sir. You have become my main educating device. Jerry Kyle
Question what do we do to integrate other programs?
Great show. My question is on labels. Can you merge then?
Great Work!
Great video... You make it simple and easy to understand... even for a francophone... sorry for my English
Thanks very much once again for sharing with us. Not sure if you wanted the link to download the Toronto Maple Leafs calendar :)
Not really....I get all the Leafs I want....after all aren't they Canada's team?
Another great and informative video Steve. Thank you , I appreciate it!
any tips on easing the transition to google calendar from exchange.
Great info.
I need info/how-to work with Google calendar (and all things Google) exclusively from mobile device

I think you need to look into smaller CRM solutions, like Monday.com. or a Gmail based tool like MixMax which I use.
Brilliant video. Please do a video on Google Keep.
Is it possible to move one of more events from one calendar to another? I know I can copy it and have the event in different calendars, but I just want to move it and show in just one.

OK - so I've used google xyz for an age now and this video was the tipping point for the iOS app :) thanks!
thank you for the lesson

But I cannot find out where I can change the color of an agenda. I know I can change the color of an event, but that's not what I am looking for. Many thanks for your help.

There are three small dots behind the agenda and there I could change the color.

Yes, you set that up in the accounts settings in your iOS device

Public Calendars... Can non-Google users still access these?
It might be worth noting that you can also create a calendar entry directly from Gmail. Go to the vertical ... above the email and select Create an Event.
Google Drive is changing to Google One. Will you be covering this change?
Another Google Cal user here, but on my iOS devices I much prefer Readdle Calendars 5, and their Spark email app on Mac which has integrated calendar.
It might seem opposite to what ur showing but subscribed to Canadian Holidays twice & I know it should be easy but no matter what I try I can’t unsubscribe can you help?
Steve, I love your videos. Quick question, can I add a Google Calendar to a Wordpress website?
best bro.
How do I know who moved an event on a shared calendar?
I know these are the small annoying things but if you use shared calendars and create one event there, when someone else moves it, you dont get notified, do you?
do google tasks app please I still don't know how to use google tasks and i actually learn a lot from you
There is a a Google App for tasks? Hold everything.
Just an idea, you should do a video on google voice :)

Hello Ronald, could you share some information on how you setup Google Calendar with your Apple devises? Thanks.
I have done the same. Syncs across iPhone, iMac & MacBook plus my android phone. On top of that my wife and I share our calendars. Perfect
I'm just learning how to do things in my Google account and everything else but I'm trying.
