As a licensed nail tech who started out at home, I love the fact that you bring sm attention to the risks of allergic reaction and how to avoid it. So many people that come into the salon who were doing nails at home had no idea and have major allergies to gel now. You’re super lucky yours is only when it touches the skin! I’m glad you’re able to still do gel nails
I'm glad she did as well! I've heard that airbrushing with gel product it disperses in the air and can be breathed in which is possibly a health hazard. I've seen that using airbrush paint is the way to go instead.
Agreed, I ended up getting onycholysis on all of my nails from not understanding the risks of at home application. I’m currently unsure if I have a gel allergy or if I had just not applied my gels currently one too many times at home but yes please be careful with gel
@@giannagagliano3432 you likely have a sensitivity or are developing an allergy to gel products. I’d suggest avoiding gel polish altogether the consequences are far worse than just not being able to use gel nail polish. Pls do your research on gel polish allergies. An alternative is using regular nails polish or press on nails. Depending on the severity of the allergy, you can use gel nail polish to create set of press on nails. Then use regular nail glue to attach it. Then there’s less of a chance of uncured gel touching your skin. Best of luck!
I've missed nail videos! Even though you do nails that are way longer than I would ever be comfortable with, I love seeing the designs you do. I also just find your nail videos very relaxing ❤
Acetone and gel polish in an airbrush is SO dangerous. You're creating an aerosol spray with acetone and polish... Which you will be breathing in because it's now in the air. Use actual water based acrylic airbrush paint. Better for your lungs and your airbrush.
I’m obsessed with your content. I’ve been watching you since you started. Can you please do a drugstore hair care routine with products that are actually good for your hair or do a video where you recommend good drugstore products :)💫💞
Thank you so much for talking about gel allergies!! I talk about it all the time in my videos and don’t see many DIY nail videos talking about so I’m pumped to see you do it!!!
I am not even being dramatic these are my favorite nails I have ever seen! I'm trying to do multicolor tortoise shell frenchies later this week. I'm still pretty new to doing my nails but I think I got the basics down and i'm ready to try some cool designs. Love this set!!!
These look so cute you did such a good job!! A word of warning to others, if you're going to airbrush please do not use gel mixed with acetone. You are basically blasting gel particles into the air that you breathe and this can also cause a gel allergy or something worse. Having the window open or a fan going is not enough. Its extremely toxic so please be warned and do your research before you decide to do it!
Putting an oil on your nails before you do a full set of extensions is risky. That's adding a lot of moisture to the nail plate before needing them to be 100% dehydrated. I know the dehydrator will take a lot of the moisture back out but if anyone is doing this with oil before they apply extensions or even just a polish, gel or otherwise and you're having lifting issues I would recommend skipping adding any moisture before you do your manicure. And that includes even washing your hands. I would recommend not washing hands at a minimum of 30 minutes before your manicure, also don't apply any oils at least an hour before you do your manicure. And when you're done with your nails THEN you can drench them in oils! ❤ If you do want to apply an oil for a bit before you do an new manicure then I would apply that oil, let it soak for a while, then wash your hands. And 30 mins or more after washing your hands I'd go in with your manicure! ❤
I try not to even wash my hands for about an hour before doing my nails and only use acetone or alcohol to clean my nail plate when I start. I'm a little paranoid since learning how long it takes for the nail plate to dry after getting water on it.
kayliiii PLEASE be safe using acetone & gel polish for ur airbrush!! i know that u use mask & u probably have an air purifier but in the long run using gel for ur air brush is so dangerous. i mean u are turning uncured gel into air & are breathing it in. i also started off with gel & acetone.. & although it was easier to color match, health does come 1st & i would suggest ordering airbrush paints just to keep u safe.🙌🏻
Hi, Kayli I love all your videos and you have inspired me to start my own fitness/gym journey I wanted to know if you are gonna make any more fitness/diet videos. Love you so much you are such an icon!
I have quite long natural nails and usually just do rubber base on them but watching ur videos I think I’m gonna try gel x now because I can only grow my natural nails so long ( genetics 👎) and I love the look of super long nails so thank youuu 💗💗💗
Hey Kayli! IL YOUR VIDS SO MUCH! you helped me so much and now I can do batter than what nail techs do! I was wondering if you could show your filming set up? Thank you!😊💗💅✨🩵
I learned so much, but i also have advice for you as well. Since you do your nails often dont forget to wear gloves to protect yourself from UV lamp. There could be negative consequences from exposing your hands too often to UV lamps.
New subscriber here, 🩷💜❤️🖤loved this nail tutorial. Can I ask where you bought the pink bottle with the hose dispenser for the acetone, it’s brilliant!!

my cuticles get extremely itchy and peel whenever i wear gel, is there any way to stop the allergic reaction so i can continue wearing gel??
