As a nail tech, I can not thank you enough for giving all that info 😭 people be doing their own nails, getting allergic reaction or hurting themselves (making their nails SO fragile) and they end up demonizing the whole nail world instead of actually researching/learning or just going to a professional 😢
Im probably your oldest viewer - 70 this year. My nail tech "ghosted" me, so i am trying all sorts of nail solutions. You have shown me a great way to do my nails! I may never be the artist that you are, but i can have lovely 💅 nails. Thanks for a great lesson. You can bet that I will be re-watching!
I'm so glad you talked about how to correctly put on nail tips and press on nails correctly. The amount of videos that I saw people apply their press on nails with solid gel or just gel in general pisses me off because they are spreading dangerous "nail hacks" and saying it is "the best way to apply press on nails." I'm glad you mentioned the importance of being cautious and the dangers of getting contact dermatitis
Thank you for the awesome tip for not applying the gel-xtips all the way to the cuticle. This was awesome. And also has saved me so much time on my prep step, with not having to file each extension to the perfect cuticle shape!
Hi kayli, i'm not sure if you're gonna see this but i wanted to say that you've really inspired me, i'm 13 years old and have been doing my nails and my family's for about a year now and your videos have helped me so much, i've learned so much, and you just my overall inspiration, i've now made the decision to go to a cosmetology school for high school and i really can't wait and i'm so grateful that i discovered your channel and you've inspired so so much!! thank uuu!!❤❤
Man I am SO glad I watched this right before I attempted to do my nails. I work at CosmoProf and bought a bunch of supplies but was being cheap about investing in a proper LED Cure lamp. I ended up getting the KS flash cure one and best believe I will be returning it and just going for the actual curing lamp. I am already prone to contact dermatitis on my hands so thank you so much Kayli for educating us! You literally saved me so much time and potentially my health! ❤
Im so glad you addressed the contact dermatitis thing and the gel not curing completely under layers of paint on a press on. I had this idea to stick on press ons like this but ok, I’ll pass. Thanks for the info! 😅
Sorry to bother you, but I’m curious - if I apply (for example )the base coat, cure it, and then do the design, and then cure one more time, will it be safe?
@lizakondrakhina8807 Not if you haven't flash cured the nails to your nail first. The problem is if you design a nail on a stand, and try to then glue it to your nail the lamp won't cure it properly because it has cured polish already on it. Hope that clarifies it.
This is so relatable. When I first started doing my own nails it took at least 6-8 hours, depending on what I was doing. Now if I’m doing something simple I can do them in 2 1/2 to 3 hours, again depending on what nail art I’m doing. And it really does take at least twice as long to do my dominant hand with my non dominant hand. That struggle is real!
For ppl who dont cut their epiniculum: you can push gently with a cuticle pusher every day and use cuticle oil after washing your hands and the epiniculum will sit pretty at the edge of your acrylics and make your nails look more real/natural! They become super elastic and healthy looking
Thanks for such a great video. I appreciate how honest you are about how long it takes you to do your nails. It really made me feel better because it takes me SO LONG to do my nails. I also want to just say I used to get my nails done pre covid, then taught myself to do my own nails when salons were closed. I am glad I do my own nails now because saving money but more importantly the HEALTH of my nails greatly improved, and my fingers don't hurt anymore after a manicure. I feel like those typical "nail salons" do not prioritize natural nail health or cleanliness. They only want to get you in and get you out. I was terrified of developing an allergy to gel that I started using dip powder because no matter how careful I am, I still get gel on my skin, but now I get "dip flu"... I started using a sensitive line, but my dip powders are not as vibrant... but it's better than getting sick. It's always something.
Hey, thanks so much for letting me know that I should put on my gel nails before doing the gel polish instead of vice versa, I kept wondering why my nails were popping off so quickly and I’m glad that I haven’t had any allergic reactions in the two months I’ve been doing them. I know you’re not an expert, but it’s a good thing to talk about. (you’ve also really helped me learn how to do my hair, thank you.)
GURL, Thank you!! Ive been doing gel nails for a year and did so much research to find out if ur supposed to take off the sticky layer before putting a new coat and never could find any info so id always remove it!😭 Hopefully my next set will adhere better🤩 Stay blessed!🤍
I JUST sat down to do my nails for the first time in months and wanted somethin to watch while curing them, thank you for feeding us the nail content 💕💕
KAYLIIIIIII!!!!! first off you are so freaking gorgeous, second you and your videos have helped me so much in many different ways and i always look forward to a new post from you, and i do my own gel-x nails because of you and i will definitely be recreating these gorgeous nails!!!❤️🔥🫶
This is the first video I've seen of you, I subscribed. It's nice to see someone who edits their own videos still and puts so much effort into their content. Everyone gets big, gets an editor and it isn't the same. Love your vids❤
I really appreciate this because i also love when youtubers edit their own videos. It ads that extra personality and is one of the main reason why I haven’t gotten an editor yet🩷
People telling you to take off the nails you put on are usually people who are jealous that you can create beautiful nails and they can’t. Don’t fret them.
I literally watch ur vidoes for comfort like ur voice is just so comforting and calming and just like everything abt u, like ur face, the way u talk is so comforting and i know I'm not the only one like GIRLLL I LOVE UUUU WE LOVE UUUUU🥲😭❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹❤🩹
Love your videos - I really love that you give tips and tricks on how to be safe too. I became allergic to some gels and turned out to be IBOA. The problem with nail product allergies can also lead to issues having dental fillings and hip replacements as they use some of the same ingredients x
I seriously loveeeee that you spoke about all the scares because I had no idea until YOU!!! now I can show and teach my teen these things because this stuff is sooo important! ❤❤❤
just did my first set after watching u for a while and theyre definitely not perfect but i really like them!! im excited to keep going and learn more, ty for all ur help
i wanted to watch one of your videos but ive already watched all of them, i recharge the page and there was this new video uploaded 1 minute ago i love you kayli
You are AMAZINGLY TALENTED! Love your videos you are so informative for us girls trying to diy our nails too. I always enjoy your videos. Keep em coming please. Much love ❤❤❤
I also want to note for any beginners. You can do either or to seal the cuticle. It’s not necessary to file it and use the acetone method together. You can do either or, especially if you’re strapped for time.
I did my gel x on the stands and put them on like gel x right before I watched them and removed them immediately! I’m so happy I watched your video and will not do it again!!
Sorry to bother you, but I’m curious - if I apply (for example )the base coat, cure it, and then do the design, and then cure one more time, will it be safe?
Please could you do a video of putting gel on your natural nails? I recently started doing mine and am struggling with getting them to last more than a week without chipping x
Omg u just made me feel so much better Ty so I do my own gel nails at home have for a long time but only more recently got into better quality products etc anyways so yeah I agree it’s a whole day thing it takes me about 3-4 hours from removal to designs etc I’m still working on designing etc but I’m trying and not giving up and I never thought of that before that that’s why it takes so long at home painting your nails each hand yeah about an hour each because again u can’t paint one hand while other is curing. Tysm
giiiiiirl idk what it is but u seem SO MUCH HAPPIER in this like i feeeel the happiness radiating from u lool so cute, stay safe, hope youre doing well and thank u very much for the nail vid
Job well done. You did such a good job and thank you for the precautionary info. I’m a professional and it’s no joke about bacteria and allergic reactions. Very important to soak all your pieces in quats to disinfect your items. Then put them away in an air tight container. Beautiful nails 💕
Amazing job 😻 just little advice: push the nail bit a little further in the nail drill. It can be dangerous using it like this. It can pop out and hurt yourself 💓
Some of the tips you give can also apply to acrylic-workers (aka me) I haven’t been doing my nails for long but I’ve always had a problem with them lifting, and some of your tips helped me too, lol.
I have shared an old video of yours many times for people who are learning, and this video hands down is the best one, and will be sharing this one moving forward. ❤
No matter what kind of nails you do there is always a learning curve. I was a nail tech in 90s. All we had was acrylic or fiberglass. My advice not everyone needs to cut off cuticles unless you feel it's necessary. Just make sure it's all off the nail. Pushing them back when putting on lotion a few times a week is a great habbit with natural nails. She is showing good PREP skills and explaining it nicely.
I love your nail videos!! I've been a nail biter for years (normally due to stress/anxiety) and this year decided I needed to stop. It's been about 2 months since I've stopped, and my nails have been able to grow. They're really weak so I keep them shorter but I'm trying to help strengthen them. I'll have to try out the OPI product. 😊
Oh Kayli........please don't listen to the haters. I have been watching your nail video's and you gave me some great ideas that I now use! I love your nails......so don't listen to them!
Love the way you explain everything ❤my nails pop off by the second day... I also have an allergy problem but I've learned a lot from this video gonna try this method.... IM from SOUTH AFRICA AND DEFINITELY GOING FOLLOW ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS 😂❤
hey kayli!! im new at doing gel nails and i found you sadly after i got contact dermatitis 😭 but hearing that you have it and you’re still going on with gel nails gives me hope!! i love watching your videos and your process along with all the information you provide; hopefully when i feel comfortable enough to start doing nails on myself again, ill be doing them properly thanks to your videos!
If anyone sees this, if you mess up your nail art and need to wipe it off, you can just gently buff the surface after so it’s not smooth and your gel should stick (from a nail girly who messes up all the time) :)
The intro was so true, when I started doing my own nails, I would spend around 3 hours doing them, and they would pop off 2 days later. It was so confusing and frustrating. Now I do proper prep and I do extensions with builder gel instead of gel x, but like you said whatever works for you.
Newbie here! Ty so much! Appreciate the information. Not a fan of gel products and now I’m Glad! Thank you for all the information regarding cuticle and nail care ❤❤❤
Does the glue that I use need to be super thick? I use the beetles brand from amazon, the one that you have looks thicker does it make a big difference?
Omg you literally are a big help, I’m so using all the tips u gave about cuticle prep bc I have totally messed up, honestly tysm girlie. I can’t wait to do my homecoming nails soon
Love this video!! I watched it a few weeks ago and ordered everything you used and just did my nails for spooky season!! Hope the combination works for my nails too!
Do my nails and cuticles look like I work construction and never moisturize? Yes. Do I get my nails done or do them my self? No. Am I going to watch 30 minutes of Kayli doing her nails? Also yes.
I work a rough blue collar job so my nails are always fucked but this makes me feel more girly and it’s almost a religious experience. I’m gonna binge all of your stuff now!
ANOTHER NAIL VIDEO‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🥳🥳so so pretty and talented!! i love all of your videos so so much, but your hair and nail videos really sit in a special place for me as a cosmetology student lol❣️
I am going to try your complete technique b/c I have had ZERO luck with my nails staying on!! Maybe once or twice they lasted about a week. Other than that, they pop off, lift off -- just aggravating and let me tell you --- I am a whole one man band nail salon in regards to how many products etc that I have purchased. I have it all!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will keep you posted.
Thank you so much for the tips!! Do you ever use nail glue (like the tube that comes with Tippex nail tips)? Do you use a protein bonder? I thought I had the process down but my right hand popped off 5 days after application. Can you explain how a protein bonder works and when to apply it in the nail prep process? I'm so confused!! Thank you!!!
Kayli YAY finallyy a youtube video lol I’ve been looking forward to it. Also you look so good , I hope you’ve been doing awesome in your personal aside from posting videos
You make me want to up grade my nail game! Ive been doing my own nails for 10 yrs now.. using dip for past 4 yrs. Ive got the process down but like you said the designs take sooo long & I dont feeeeelll like doing them hehe
I do my nails at home and I want to be a nail tech when I’m older, and all of your information really helped me thank you! Also I totally agree with the time it takes to do nails. For me a semi-hard design would take 4-6 hours and when you film it takes even longer. I did a pretty hard design on my self while filming at the same time and it took 10 HOURS😭😭😭 also might I mention it literally takes forever to edit these videos and I still need to finish and upload mine🙏🙏
you should totally go live while doing your nails! watching you do your nails while I do mine would be so fun haha
that would be so fun pls do this Kayli!!
YEESSS ! I would love to watch this in live time
Yes ❤
Yes yes yes🥰❤️
Yesss I would love that
As a nail tech, I can not thank you enough for giving all that info 😭 people be doing their own nails, getting allergic reaction or hurting themselves (making their nails SO fragile) and they end up demonizing the whole nail world instead of actually researching/learning or just going to a professional 😢
I OVERCURE my nails lol... after I flash cure they are going under the lamp a minimum of 3 minutes before I put on any polish
@@jasmineloveduhhthey need to be under the lamp max 60 seconds. Does not need to be 3 minutes lol
I am lol-ing so hard (along with you) pointing to pictures of your nails that aren't there. You are such a comfort to all of us. Thank you!!
Im probably your oldest viewer - 70 this year. My nail tech "ghosted" me, so i am trying all sorts of nail solutions. You have shown me a great way to do my nails! Hearing that you take 2-4 hours to do your nails when not filming was sooooooo validating for me, I thought I was doing something wrong tbh

Thank you for the awesome tip for not applying the gel-xtips all the way to the cuticle. This was awesome. And also has saved me so much time on my prep step, with not having to file each extension to the perfect cuticle shape!

You’re nail videos are literally the best
You should do an eyebrow care routine
If anyone sees this, if you mess up your nail art and need to wipe it off, you can just gently buff the surface after so it’s not smooth and your gel should stick (from a nail girly who messes up all the time) :)
DIY? This fancy! Well done, my progression of at home nails has not gotten to this level yet but I’m very tempted..😊
Love these nails 💅 Kayli. By the way, your skin and hair look so good. ✨🌸🎀

You can get removable gel so you can keep your nails! Jello Jello removable gel might be something to look into :)

I find these videos so relaxing to watch! ❤❤❤
