Please do more nail videos!!!!! I do my own nails at home, mainly just normal nail polish but recently started getting into gel extensions and gel polish. This video was so wonderful and so educational in a way that people who are new to this process can follow along easily. I love your makeup videos, but I'm thrilled to see this video today! Fully trained ex nail tech. One little note about the UV... lamps use less UV than your ski gets exposed to in the air throughout the day... so it's probably more important to wear sunscreen throughout the day rather than specifically for doing your nails. Another little tip is to remove the gems and any 3d art using an old cuticle nipper.. it will help your drill bits last longer and is safer too! Hope they are helpful tips! Lovely set of nails!

Hi! I'm also a DYI-er who is starting nail school next month! Your talent and skill are amazing and you have a great eye for design! Super skillful and beautiful! Since you mentioned you were concerned about gel exposure and safety from allergies, I wanted to suggest one thing! I've heard from some professionals in the field that airbrushes are amazing tools, but we should not use alcohol or acetone diluted gels in them. They said that even though the color is blasted in 1 direction, the vapors with uncured gel will fill your room very quickly and easily, which could cause some problems! I bought an affordable kit of air brush acrylic paints and I mix the colors prior to putting them in the airbrush. I was also told that even with the acrylic paints you should still wear an air safe mask and open windows/vent your space before doing airbrushing. I hope you keep doing what you're doing and hope this helps you in the future! Thank you!

Nail Educator here, I enjoyed watching your video! You’re a natural talent. I have a couple of concerns that I’d like to share. At 5.53 Drilling a pocket. I understand your thinking, but the natural is so thin already and drilling in a pocket causes the nail to become weak and increase the possibility of lifting and cause onycholysis . I agree using the little drill bit to get close to the cuticle is good, just go lightly to keep the structure of the natural nail undamaged. 8.53 Primer: Primer is used primarily for Acrylic Nails. Bonder is used for gel nails. You can use primer with gel, just remember to completely dry the primer before your gel application. 15.20: Fantastic idea using your hand and cutt n paste inspired art. 🩷 Your content was clearly executed and explained, please keep creating content and if you ever need any questions answered please don’t hesitate to contact me. Your nails look amazing the application prep definitely helps . I just started to do my nails at home also I love love the gel extensions nails press on application with durability of gels . What I noticed is now that I am doing my nails at home my nails don’t get that gel spike when you initially put gel nails under the lamp like the spa .. maybe it’s my prepping or my nail products I use beetles gel easy to apply and inexpensive from Amazon .. I love the almond shape in short ..you definitely have all the supplies. Nail salon does to do nails I was like damn she pulled airbrush out and the dust collector .. thanks for sharing ..

The nails turned out amazing! I am not a lisfensed nail tech either but have been doing my own gels for about 10 years and love it! When you’re doing cleanup I’d recommend using alcohol instead of acetone. Acetone breaks down the soak off gel whereas alcohol does not. I’m not familiar with airbrushing but I’d assume the same for that, could have been why you had separation when trying to layer it up at first. Alcohol will volatilize and dry off where as acetone breaks down the gel. Keep up the good work!!

As a very advanced amateur, I'm watching to compare our techniques 😅 we're shockingly similar The only differences between you and I is that I don't have the patience for soak off removal so I made a point to find a peel off base coat that doesn't compromise wear time. I use the Korean peel off base coat called Jello Jello One Kill. Made the process SO much faster for me. I also wouldn't worry about not getting close enough to the cuticle with the extension. It doesn't grow out as nicely when it is. It's better to have the gap between the extension and cuticle filled with gel so it can be perfectly flush once your nail starts growing out. I also started skipping the etching of the extensions and haven't noticed a difference. Just an idea if you ever want to cut down on time.

I love this! I've been doing my own gel for a while and I love it but it also takes hooouurrs. I also definitely damaged my nails a lot at the start because removal was so difficult. I got the jello jello peel off base and now it's a lot easier

Invest in a ceramic football bit for removal of your sets, the thinner end makes getting into the cuticle area makes it easier and safer. Great video!
