Tried it last night. I had all ingredients on hand. It was the best I have made lentils ever. It was spectacular and the first time I had used that combo of spices. Fantastic!
I add s can of coconut milk in the last 10 minutes of cooking and cilantro when served. It's amazing!!! I also serve it with cut up avocado and lime juice and ota even more amazing.
Add a tablespoon of honey and sweet potato instead of white potato and fine celery and chickpea, it’s super crazy thick and creamy yummy - spices are perfect 😍I use green cabbage instead of kale. I add 2 bay leaves too for a change
I would suggest buying dry lentils, not the canned ones. You can soak them in the morning and remove all water by evening. Then, wrap them firmly in a cotton cloth and put it in a warm, dark place. (You can just put in on a plate, place it on the table, and cover the whole thing with a huge pot so that no light enters.) Depending upon how cold it is in your city, the next morning (or the the morning after) the lentils will sprout! And then you can cook them. This way, they don't cause gas or bloating, and are easier to digest!
@@kisutis Yes, but my point is, if you let them sprout, they will not cause gas and bloating. Lentils and beans are easier to digest if sprouted. And usually, the ones we buy in jars at the supermarket are not sprouted. Or at least in the supermarkets near where I live.
@@PurvaD I understand I sprout just a bit mung beans and eat them raw as then they taste like fresh peas :)) but I don’t have any problems with lentils, I mean I boiled them once more than 30 min and they became too soft and not tasty. I soaked them overnight only once when next morning had to blender them raw for vegan cutlets
My frist time making this, I've been trying beans and peas recipes lately, and so far all have been hits!. This was sooooooooooo delicious, my daughter who doesnt like peas ate 2 bowls of it, I ate two bowls, and even my husband is raving over it. Thank you soo much for the recipe. I also added some coconut milk as another commenter mentioned and it was amazing. Next time I'm going to use sweet potatoes, now I've tasted this I can imagine how much more amazing it'll taste with sweet potatoes. I also added a tiny bit of thai curry paste in it because i didn't have any tumeric or cumin... sooo good 🤭😋😊
I made this soup today and it’s absolutely delicious. A little greek yogurt on top was a nice addition for me. Thank you both for another great recipe!😊
I know this is a year later, but I just made this and it was really good! I subbed the curry powder for Japanese curry because that's what I had (I just grated the portion I needed from the block). I'll use regular curry powder next time tho! Lol! Still came out really good. I topped mine with little cubes of Mexican queso fresco and lime. Very good recipe! Thank you!
Hi Nico, just to let you know this is so delicious, easy and quick. I made it last night when I came here looking for a recipe for dinner at short notice and thankfully found this one and I had all the ingredients. I’m so glad I found it. The whole family loved it. Got the print out from your website - love that I can adjust the quantity - I’ll be making it in batches, I had seconds yesterday 🤭. It’ll now be a staple in our home. Thank you. 💛
Please try PALAK PANEER. You can replace PANEER with TOFU. It's a highly nutritional, healthy, tasty indian curry packed with amazing flavours. PLS TRY IT.
Just a tip: let lentils soak in water for about like 20 to 30 mts. I fyoundon't have that kinda time 10 to 15mts is also fine. soaking helps in easy digestion so less burps or gas.

When I was a child I hated lentils, the other day I tryed this recipe and my 7yr old granddaughter loved it along with me, it was amazing....!

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Instead of adding white potatoes, I’m adding sweet potatoes yum 😋 Delicious either way!
honey and sweet potato, you sound so american
@@Aura_glow Bay leaves fr wht? To preserve?
@@Aura_glow just like veg chips ? No nutrition left but atleast not harmful ingredients
I loved the Sweet Potato, thank you!.

They don’t require long soaking. You can boil them without soaking for 30 min (green lentils), I do that for warm salad with vegetables

Wow, I will try this with mung beans for now.
I never had lentils or chickpeas but they look tasty! Will it go well with some meat with the curry? Like ground meat or thin sliced meat?

Tofu require huge amount effrts to replace paneer
Not really, unless you are à perfectionist
Super!
Love it - I will use dry lentils I stead though. How long in a slow cooker please?
Just soak them overnight or (generally) just an hour before cooking. There is no need for a slow cooker for lentils. They might get mushy.
This looks sooooooooo gooooood
Can the kale be substituted with spinach ?
I will when I make it!!!
I'm going to try spinach too.
🔥🔥🔥 making for dinner tonight 😍🥰
Thank youuuuuu

Great yummyyyyy
Lentils have always been a staple grow up until now.
I accept it
If you skip adding curry and kale, you end up with moroccan lentils dish, yummy!
Nice 👍
