    I have never done a long distance trek, but I want to do the Annapurna circuit, and while I doubt I can do the entire appalachian trail, I'd love to at least trek the trail through Maine to the top of Katahdan

      This is one of the best trek available throughout world and you'll definitely enjoy the trek because of its uniqueness. Each day you can see a different tribes of people and different culture. And the most important feeling is on the way to Throng high camp you will feel you can't do it anymore although you can do it easily.
      Can't wait to see you here in Nepal.

    The 'Thorung La Pass' you mention as 'not that dangerous', is this the same one where 21 trekkers died in 2014? You're right that there's always others on the trail, 384 to be exact, all of whom needed to be rescued. Another 22 died that included two climbers, local guides and cooks.

    • @sandrorossi
      @sandrorossi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that was a very tragic event. There is always a risk as soon as you expose yourself to nature. I think it is important to keep this in mind and be as careful as possible.

    Another great production Sandro well put together and I enjoyed learning about this trek which I had never hear of. Also inspirational about creating good videos when we don't have the unrestricted travel opportunities at the moment.

      So, I did AC trek 24 years ago, when there was no Jeeps allowed on that main trekking trail. I am sad it’s now packed w vehicles
      Have you done the Dolpa Trek?? So, I am trying to decide whether I want to explore the “alternate route” or the Annapurna Circuit or just do a totally different trek (the Dolpa Trek and head for Phoksundo Lake

  • @karipintakivi9153

    Unfortunately the new road has shrunk the Annapurna Circuit from 30 days to 12, out of which only a few days are trails. If you want to see what real 340 km AC was like 40 years ago: th-cam.com/video/wxXPsO0Zuzo/w-d-xo.html No roads, no electricity, no phones, no video...

    How much money that you spent along the trek?
    Meal?
    Accommodation?

    • @sandrorossi
      @sandrorossi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, it's been a while so I'm not 100% sure. I think on the treck you can get along with 25-50$ per day if you don't hire a guide. So that will be 500 - 800$ for food and accomondation for the whole round trip. I had to buy the plane tickets, transportation and permits, so I think for me the whole 20 days were around 2000$.

  • @bitthalhere1
    @bitthalhere1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    can we camping there outside i dont wanna stay those hotels

    • @sandrorossi
      @sandrorossi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw one person trying to do that and I think she had not a very good time. I think if you are really experienced in camping and you prepare for the climate (it gets from quite hot to very cold) it is possible but I would not want to carry that extra camping and cooking gear since every extra kilo slows you down. So I would say: It‘s possible if you know what you are doing but I think it‘s way more fun and relaxed to stay in accommodations 😉 Hope this helped!

    The Annapurna circuit trek costs about 1000usd per person now in Aug 2022. How much did it cost you?

    • @sandrorossi
      @sandrorossi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What is included in those 1000usd? If you add all the accommodations, the permits and the food I don‘t think that I spent more than 500 usd on the trek.

      Well I've never been there in December. My trip was during the rain season in the warm months. I've read that december is the first month of winter in Nepal and it should be possible to hike the trail, but temperatures can drop down to 0 degrees... so make sure you prepare well and read some other blogs and articles about the condition in Nepal to make a smart decision!
