His role choices are wild to me because he can very easily coast by as the stoic lead, or charming goofball but he picks various things that just shows how versatile he really is.
He definitely enjoys it, which is good because we enjoy seeing him in different roles. Easily, though, my favorite roles for him are the comedic ones like The Nice Guys.
He says he is getting away from the dark stuff because he has a family and getting into those parts is not easy and if fact would actually make him sick.
Love the inclusion of the clip of him eating cereal. I remember following that vine saga. Glad to see this channel brought back to life and consistent videos again!
Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys, and True Romance. Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and many of his roles in Tim Burton films. I love it when the stupidly handsome actors play unflattering roles!
It’s refreshing and encouraging to have someone like him so way up at the top in his industry. Because we’re all getting bombarded with the reality of how everyone else there really is, and to know that there might still be space for artists who aren’t so “phony” and are “for real” gives us a little sliver of hope (or something like it)
‘How does a human being like this exist? It’s like a D&D character with all of his stats maxed out!’ 😂 This, I think, is the BEST description of Gosling I’ve heard to date! ❤ Cool vid! Truly enjoyed your exposé on this very talented actor. 💯🌟 Gosling is indeed one of a kind. He CHOOSES to spread joy and makes a VERY conscious effort to be KIND and considerate in everything he does. Mega-kudos to his mom for raising such a wonderful man. Eva Mendes is an incredibly lucky woman to be loved by such a person. With all that said, I also believe Gosling’s demonstrating that IT CAN BE DONE. We can ALL choose to be kind and amazing people. We’re all capable! We simply have to make a serious, conscious effort to work towards positively improving our own personal well-being which inevitably Pays It Forward onto other people. ❤
I loved your comment, totally agree. Ryan Gosling is the epitome of "in a world where you can be anything, be kind", and it's impossible not to love him for that, in addition to his physical beauty and enormous talent.
yesterday I randomly decided to watch the United States of Leland again to see if it was good since I haven't seen it in like 18 years, so this is good timing for me. And now I'm gonna watch Blue Valentine which I know very little about but your description sounds like what I need right now
Great vid! A good representation on Ryan consistently resisting the mold, even Refn couldn't help but break it after making him the stoic badass in Drive, he's a pathetic wannabe badass in Only God Forgives. Grey Man is the closest we've got to him taking the easy way out. But then he did Barbie.
Glad you mentioned lala land. One of my favorite movies and he learned to play the piano phonetically so they didn’t have to make cuts between his hands
Well he knew how to play piano previously with Dead Man's Bones but learned to play it even better so that his role as Sebastian would be more convincing
I always liked him, but I’m a fan since Barbie. I didn’t know about 80% of this and you made me wanna watch all his movies now. You really showed how versatile he is, I wasn’t aware of that. Thank you so much. (you got my subscription)
Sad you didn't mention Stay in which he plays the closest approximation to an actual anime sad boy that we've ever seen on screen. In all seriousness he's really good in it and the ending hits like a truck every time. Critics didn't get it and sadly probably never will.
After watching the explanation video on Stay, it's probably my favourite film he's done Altho half nelson and blue valentine r his best acting performances
Ryan Gosling is one of those guys who reminds you that the best thing you can do for your life is be true to yourself and do everything with conviction because you can't fake sincerity.
I had the exact reaction watching Blue Valentine, this guy is an Actor. Then, in The Nice Guys, he turns in one of my all time favorite comedic performances
This dude can do it all! He is so good! He was fantastic in The Fall Guy. It's a drag that it didn't do well. Gosling just has IT. And he remains so humble which is just the icing on the cake.
I read somewhere that Ryan Gosling acts in comedies like his characters are in a drama, whereas Ryan Reynolds acts like his characters know they're in a comedy and that feels like the perfect description
Nice Guys was so damn good. Came out of nowhere, too, didn't expect it to be so good but it just... _was._ You can tell by his SNL performances that he's perfectly willing to be as ridiculous as possible and laugh at himself, and he *commits.* Every time. That's what makes him so entertaining. A lot of actors get on SNL and they half-ass it, even the SNL cast tend to, particularly these days, but not Ryan. He's out there giving it 110% like his whole career depends on it. Papyrus is probably one of the best SNL shorts because of him.
Oh man.. I recognized your face immediately at 0:20! American Pie! Nice! This movie summary thing you got going.. It's really good. Please keep at it :D
can't believe "la stone" already has two oscars, for whatever reason, and he is still dry.... that he is too pretty, not pretty enough, too stoic, too silly, too this and that... the guy is the perfect sentient. he appeared on my radar when "nice guys" and "blade runner." since then i've been watching his stuff, and he is good. definitely the highlight of barbie. i am sure he will get his awards for something irrelevant, once the cinema game maker decide that is his turn, but we all know he deserved them much much earlier. great video by the way!
My favorite Ryan, gosling role is “the place beyond the pines” I just love that movie and he’s so good at it. It’s a very serious role like his role in “drive”…. To be honest I’ve never seen a bad performance for Brian. I’ve seen bad movies that he’s in (Barbie) but I’ve never seen a bad performance from this man. He was so funny in “The good guys”….. but please be able to Podeswa always be my favorite. He was so smoking hot in that movie too.
He did a long interview in some magazine on a train and when they stopped they went to eat and while the reporter was in the bathroom Ryan ordered one of each dissert and then left. He apologized later because he didn't know that so many of them involved ice cream.
With Harrison Ford, th-cam.com/users/shorts4vYw2E2fjRE, One of my favorite interviews. th-cam.com/video/Uh13uLncB7E/w-d-xo.html, He is a 10 in looks, but at 90 in personality and family.
I disagree with the Brad Pitt thing. He was a character actor from the beginning. Then pushed into playing the bland lead/supporting character for a few films. Then the charismatic lead/supporting from Fight Club, to Oceans, to Mr, Mrs Smith. Then back to character actor with Snatch. A big reminder that his main skill is a character actor with Inglorious Bstrds. Hollywood have ping ponged Brad Pitt between, and he's always shined most as the character actor.
It's really upsetting, because I can't stop imagining the Ryan Gosling from the beginning of this retrospective watching your whole thing in growing discomfort, followed by real horror.
You just HAD to make it weird, didn't you? Dude, I'm not angry, I'm just ... disappointed. smh. But wait. Did you say Ryan Gosling made a SNL skit funny?? Wow. He's not a man. He's a god.
Recently in an interview he said, "I used to own a restaurant." Wait until you see 'The Fall Guy". He has said he doesn't want parts that take him to a dark place like they used to because of his family. He is set to do another Sci-Fi. His personality is what gets me. In interviews I can listen to him laugh forever, like with with Harrison Ford on on the Graham Norton show with Russell Crowe. th-cam.com/video/yuXGpUR7fXA/w-d-xo.html
When he falls off the roof into the pool in Nice Guys and says, "I don't think I can die. It's the only thing that makes sense. 🤷" 😂😂😂
That’s a scene I’ve replayed many times. I never cease to laugh myself to tears.
@@brodyschum…and then Nixon swims toward him
The way he sincerely said it with so much conviction is the funniest
His role choices are wild to me because he can very easily coast by as the stoic lead, or charming goofball but he picks various things that just shows how versatile he really is.
He definitely enjoys it, which is good because we enjoy seeing him in different roles. Easily, though, my favorite roles for him are the comedic ones like The Nice Guys.
From nice guys to Bladerunner says it all
@@Aldragon Notebook, drive, nice guys, place beyond the pines, etc.
Stupid talented Ryan
He says he is getting away from the dark stuff because he has a family and getting into those parts is not easy and if fact would actually make him sick.

Brad Pitt in Kalifornia. He did so well, but ew.
He sings, he dances, he does comedy and drama and he’s gorgeous. He’s more than a triple threat. Keep up the good work!
He is a leading man!
This is making me want to see Ryan in a Coen Brothers movie
omg yes please
Or in Fargo season
Needs to happen
For real! He would be perfect for it.
Nobody's better than Ryan Gosling.
The more movies i've seen him in over the years, the more i've grown to love him. He plays every single character so well.
I'm looking forward to seeing Ryan enter his Bill Murray 'no one will ever believe you' phase.
Great actor with the charisma and the confidence to boot.
And he's actually a nice guy...❤

You definitely did Ryan justice in this vid! And the meet cute at the end…hilarious 😂
I try
Papyrus 1 and 2 are my fav ever SNL sketches 🙌
yesterday I randomly decided to watch the United States of Leland again to see if it was good since I haven't seen it in like 18 years, so this is good timing for me. And now I'm gonna watch Blue Valentine which I know very little about but your description sounds like what I need right now

I missed that one... I'll check it out!
After watching the explanation video on Stay, it's probably my favourite film he's done
Altho half nelson and blue valentine r his best acting performances
People acting like Barbie is his first comedy role will forever irk me.
Seriously. Or that he just started singing. He's got an incredible resume
I know this video came out before The Fall Guy came out and even with that movie, he was hilarious!
Ryan Gosling is one of those guys who reminds you that the best thing you can do for your life is be true to yourself and do everything with conviction because you can't fake sincerity.
He’s great because he’s fearless.
ryan gosling can fit any roles bcs hes beyond talented thats it thats all
I had the exact reaction watching Blue Valentine, this guy is an Actor. Then, in The Nice Guys, he turns in one of my all time favorite comedic performances
"Lars and the Real Girl" is what convinced me Ryan is insanely talented actor. I think that's still my favorite performance from him.
And The Notebook
Doesn’t hurt that he was supported by Paul Schneider and Emily Mortimer either. Fantastic movie.
This dude can do it all! He is so good! He was fantastic in The Fall Guy. It's a drag that it didn't do well. Gosling just has IT. And he remains so humble which is just the icing on the cake.
the end is the most heterosexual way of saying that you love Ryan Gosling
I read somewhere that Ryan Gosling acts in comedies like his characters are in a drama, whereas Ryan Reynolds acts like his characters know they're in a comedy and that feels like the perfect description
This is GREAT! Thanks for showing Ryan Gosling for 18 whole minutes!! 😊
Nice Guys was so damn good. Came out of nowhere, too, didn't expect it to be so good but it just... _was._

production on these is top notch mate gotta say
His snl sketches are top tier
Burn after reading is SO GOOD
Oh man.. I recognized your face immediately at 0:20! American Pie! Nice!

Don’t worry I love him too 😢❤😊
That little run-on at the end… just excellent!
I think this guy is going places.

Great video! Someone needs to send this link to Ryan.
When Russell fractured Ryans spine he did the Mexican yell 🤣
16:00 - You are Kenough, my guy.
Oh, you loveable nerd. ❤️
"I'm not enough..." Brandon, you are Kenough
very nice video! as my mate steve carrel said once, i might love ryan gosling more than i love my family.
When he lunches the glass door I lose it everytime
I don’t even have to see what other videos this page has. That last bit made me subscribe.
Ryan rocks ❤❤❤❤❤
My favorite Ryan, gosling role is “the place beyond the pines” I just love that movie and he’s so good at it. It’s a very serious role like his role in “drive”…. The nice guys is literally my favorite movie
I agree 100%. He’s the current phenomenon. He can do no wrong. Came here after the Oscar performance that went viral.
there's keanu reeves, and then right after there is ryan gosling
The ending is fantastic 😂
I couldn't have said it better. I love me some Ryan Gosling and I don't care who knows.
LOVED This!!!
Ryan Reynolds does the " self depracation" dynamic like no 1 else.
Most celeb actors are too serious to poke fun at themselves....
This video is about Ryan Gosling, love. But Ryan Reynolds is very cool, too.
One his lesser known movies is The Believer, not a comedy but worth a watch
Before he did young Hercules he was on Breaker High. I remember watching it as a teenager lol
He did a long interview in some magazine on a train and when they stopped they went to eat and while the reporter was in the bathroom Ryan ordered one of each dissert and then left. He apologized later because he didn't know that so many of them involved ice cream.
love him in lars and the real girl, also the one where hes a crack addicted teacher? i forget the title but hes brilliant
Thanks for making a video about me! Literally, me.
Yeah he does a good job. Good things for him in the future
Keep your eye on this Gosling character
amamos a Ryan Gosling
12:46 i wanna make it clear that replicants in Blade Runner and 2049 are lab grown humans not Synths like from fallout 4
"Burn after reading" is a movie that doesn't get the attention it deserves.
Yeah, Hunk. Also, I "discovered" Ryan from Young Herculese.
With Harrison Ford, th-cam.com/users/shorts4vYw2E2fjRE, One of my favorite interviews. th-cam.com/video/Uh13uLncB7E/w-d-xo.html, He is a 10 in looks, but at 90 in personality and family.
14:50 !!
You guys totally forgot about Breaker High
I too have a massive man crush on Ryan Gosling.
I so hope Ryan see’s this, I'm sure he just needs to get to know you! He’ll love you then... 😉
Big Short is his best performance.
as a kid i always confused him with the culkins... i thought he was one of them.
The box office would disagree......multiple times over.
The Notebook. Lars and the Real Girl.
He's like Nic Cage but hitting home runs on all his roles.
Hey, man. Nic is on his own level. 😊
I really hope Austin Butler has this kind of career, he's too good of an actor to take the Chris Evans, two-dimensional hunk pathway
I like him more now
Id like him to be Green Arrow. He d be amazing as the character in the new DC
Ugh. No more comic book movies for a minute. Let us breathe a little bit.
Yes. He’s #1 good looking. Timothee Chalamet is fast approaching him, though
He often looks a lot like Stan Laurel -- yes, dear, even in rom-coms. He ain't the handsomest guy in Hollywood.
The Breaker High erasure…
Because he's a baby goose.
❤❤❤
Yeah, he's a hunk. It is what it is. lulz
Ryan Gosling got AYAOTD, Goosebumps and Mickey Mouse, but Chris Evans was the heartthrob in a dating board game. Chris clearly is the winner.
Wait, is that the same Kenny Johnson who does the Indie Wrestling videos?
you better believe it!
I disagree with the Brad Pitt thing. He was a character actor from the beginning. Then pushed into playing the bland lead/supporting character for a few films. Then the charismatic lead/supporting from Fight Club, to Oceans, to Mr, Mrs Smith.

4:45?
A camera that predicts the future? Sounds like a Stephen King rip off of The Sun Dog.
You know Ryan Gosling going to comment somewhere in this comment section and we would never know it.
He's a god.
Watch gay for gosling by Pete Holmes
😂😂😂😂
Ryan is not a dinkus!
3:35 Laughing about being a pedophile… weird…
You are calling The Nice Guys a recent performance? uuhhh no.....
Recently in an interview he said, "I used to own a restaurant." Wait until you see 'The Fall Guy". SNL is better with this man.
