    Why was this the best video I've ever seen on TH-cam

    The best kept secret is to attend a lower-tier university and gain all the knowledge and not worry about the brand name. Once you have the knowledge, the sky is the limit.

    This video is weird. Not in like a way that makes you cringe, but so valuable, knowledge that can save someones life, but a hidden gem, as it only has 1000 views. Weird.

    So I’m a transfer student debating between Berkeley & Uc Merced Merced because it’s smaller & more research opportunities. Cals grade deflation & housing scares me. Especially cause I want to attend grad school what would y’all choose I also got waitlisted at Davis

      Hey! I think I saw your comment on another cal video. Have you made a decision yet? I’m deciding between cal and ucsd.

      @@jenniferzhu6854 Hi Jennifer so I'm just waiting to receive my financial aid package from UCSD there was a hold on mine. Once I receive it I will compare them I'm hoping UCSD offers me as much aid as Cal. As of now, I'm leaning more toward UCSD because they don't have a housing crisis like Cal. What about you have you decided yet? Also congrats on getting in. :)

      @@cetaceans4progress375 Hi Shelby! Thank you :) Congrats to you too!! Did you mean to say Merced instead of UCSD (since you originally were choosing between Cal and Merced)? I’m leaning towards Cal rn! But I don’t know what to do lol. UCSD has an amazing cogsci department 🥺 Cal’s location to the Bay Area is a plus for me and they also gave me spring admission which is what I wanted! The housing crisis at Cal scares me too.. and I’m not sure how housing will work for me as a spring admit lol. I know that Cal has these co-ops (cheap and an option if we don’t get housing) that we could apply to! If you want to check that out: www.bsc.coop

      @@jenniferzhu6854 Hi Jennifer initially I was choosing between Merced & Berkeley but I also got accepted into UCSD so now it's between Berkeley & UCSD. I'm leaning more towards UCSD because I'm worried about Cal's grade deflation and I heard it's super competitive to get research Idk tho both are amazing options. Also, thank you for the link I will def check that out! Are you planning on going to grad school after undergrad?

    • @jenniferzhu6854
      @jenniferzhu6854 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@cetaceans4progress375 ayy congrats on UCSD!! I guess we're choosing between the same schools then lol. Cal's grade deflation is definitely something I'm worried about too, but thankfully not all classes are graded on a curve (I think the weeder classes are the ones we need to be worried about grade deflation-wise).
      I also heard that it's quite difficult to get into research at cal. :( You prob know of her already, but in case if you don't.. Angelica Song is a youtuber from Cal and in one of her vids, she said that a lot of people there are thirsty for research positions lol. I'm not that interested in research tho.
      I don't think I'll be going to grad school right after undergrad. My goal is to work in industry right after graduating, but if I need more experience, then I'll apply to grad schools!

    Okay, but be careful. Regardless of your dreams, you need viable work skills. Following your heart can lead to Heartbreak Hotel. The enormous homeless communities throughout the Bay Area are proof of that.

    Glad you had the experience/motivation to build a startup, but isn't the SafeBox idea equivalent to Amazon Lockers? that's a tough business to compete in

    I found out in another video that the fantasy ends at the end of orientation, and the grind starts on the first day.

  • @JL-uk3nh

    Good luck w/ your startup and trying to make it. Most fail. If you have an opportunity to get a degree from a top school, why not? Education, degree, is something that no one can ever take away from you and alumni connections can be invaluable. Life is a crap shoot so why not do as much as you can to increase your odds for success. Cal is not a hold your hand school but so is life. Completion builds character and makes your stronger when you go out to real world things will be easier. Just saying I would rather have a Berkeley degree and do a startup than be degree less. You will be saying “I’m a former Berkeley student dropped out to start a company” to leverage the Berkeley name soon enough.
