Disco nights was a hit when it came out, I really liked that song back then and I do love you was a good one as well. On another note, have you heard of a group called "Sun" it would be nice to see a review about them. I think Sun is another unsung group.
My favorite GQ songs are their covers of the late, great Billy Stewart's "I Do Love You" and "Sitting in the Park" and, of course "Disco Nights (Rock Freak)". The record came out when I was in high school and I remember an assembly where there was a band from the school that jammed so good on "Disco Nights" that you thought it was GQ, because it sounded so much like the record!! There were kids jamming in their seats and in the aisles, having a merry old time!! (My high school (Barringer HS, in Newark, NJ) had the baddest band in the State back then!!)
My uncle, back during the late 70's, used to always jam to GQ's music. My favorite songs by G.Q. are "Disco Nights", "I Do Love You", and "Sitting In The Park". And thank you for clearing up the rumor that Keith Sweat was a member of G.Q., which actually was his uncle Keith Crier!
Sitting in the park i pick two dont stop this feeling dont stop this feeling is like your on a far journey travelling down the road that why i pick two😮
In 1977 when I was thirteen I had been playing guitar for about eight months and I was carrying my electric guitar around and Rahiem spotted me and was imploring me to join his band but I declined because I just started learning how to play and I didn't think I was good enough. After all these years, in hindsight, I believe he knew I was a beginner and he probably was trying to mentor me( I was self taught). I know it wasn't meant to be but what if I took up Rahiem's offer to join his band and be mentored.... This was in the Soundview area of the Bronx NY.
Wow GQ ( good quality ) were a fantastic band. They reminded me of the beatles. Slick cool rhythm makers. Their first two albums were classics . Pure class.
My favourite GQ tune is extremely important to me as it was my first 12" inch vinyl record i ever brought & that was"Make My Dream A Reality" an excellent badass tune!! Junior from London 😎🇬🇧🇬🇧🇯🇲🇯🇲
Drugs also played a part in their decline according to my ex/friend Wayne Wright-Drummer, Sabu and Tabu were using crack. I got to meet Raheim prior to Disco Night fame through drummer Julian Hampton/Nikki Giovanni R.I.P
GQ did not stand for 'Good Quality ' but was derived from the magazine 'Gentleman Quality ' because 80's men's fashion were copied from the magazine. If you were out and dressed sharp, people called you 'GQ'
Favorite songs by GQ are, Disco Nights, I Do Love You and Sitting In The Park.

They was not better than Eastside H.S. Paterson NewJersey....
@eddiesoul4890 Yes we were! I remember Paterson East Side being our biggest rival -- moreso in football than regarding their band.

Great video brother 💯 My favorite song by GQ is Disco Nights
Wow GQ ( good quality ) were a fantastic band. They reminded me of the beatles. Slick cool rhythm makers. Their first two albums were classics . Pure class.
GQ did a nice cover of two of Billy Stewarts songs, "I Do love you," and "Sitting in the park." But I prefer the original songs sung by Billy Stewart
