Ben you are the Anthony Bourdain of Cruising. Your narration styles are similar. Both poetic and informative.
I prefer Ashley 🍁
his narration is the reason i pretty much stopped watching. so monotone and robotic.
I love the analogy! They are both great!
Lmao! Not even close.
Ben’s monotone narration highlights an uneducated man trying to sound smart.
Just watch the video without kissing ass.
As a deep sea fisherman in Hawaii as we go interisland often, I have only one suggestion to add to your safety equipment. I Always have a vertex standard vhf Pilot Transceiver. To be able to communicate with a plane flying over within line of sight is always an extremely comforting. FCC laws allow anyone with capability to communicate on any frequency when life and limb are at risk. The "Guard Channel" being 121.5am can be a life saver. All commercial aircraft are required to keep a separate vfo tunned to that frequency in all times.
The radios have a switch position for both what your primary frequency is and guard. The standard position is both so that we can always monitor.
Marine Vhf radios do not have the ability to tranceive on AM. It requires a separate radio to do so unless you have a multiband radio. I imagine more sailors have them these days.
@@matthewgriffin8442 my experience is all on the aviation side.
What do you fly? My college buddy has a 76 Grumman tiger that he let me take the stick a few times. I want to put a sharrow marine prop on it to experience the silence and improved performance.
@@matthewgriffin8442 I am retired USAF. I was a Flight Engineer on C-141s, C-5s and KC-10’s
Sailing Nahoa is one channel on YT that I stop to watch and catch up. Thanks Ben and Ash for the latest update. Looking forward to keeping up with your second lap.
Stunning!! Instant like. I’ve really missed these Pacific island videos. So many years have passed, but no one does it better than Nahoa. ❤️
I'm in awe of your Bodie using a snorkel. I know of grown adults that are not comfortable to be in open water let alone use a snorkel. I love the talent of your children and you as parents.
Your children are getting the best education that any child could hope for. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers daily especially when you go on those long passages I think about your family daily that nothing terrible happens to your family. Love love love your channel especially since your Canadians.
Breath takingly beautiful! The fishing lesson with your friend was completely fascinating. Seriously, I think you have people taking notes. Willa fully mermaiding now and Bohdi chasing chickens and scootering like a boss... you're left our hearts very full this week.
I am so happy for you guys😊. Your family is truly blessed. Your children will be the finest world citizens.❤
You guys and your kids are so lucky to be traveling in your boat and seeing the world Im really so envious!❤
Your beautiful children are going to look back one day when they are a little older what a wonderful life and opportunity they have been given by 2 wonderful parents. ❤
I absolutely agree. The children are allowed to explore, learn by touch, feel & taste. Willa isn't sold on the settling down yet 😆 she loves the ocean life. Maybe one day she will surprise Ben & Ashley with a Yes, when asked "could you live here"? Until then, the sea is Nahoa Family's home ❤🌊⛵️🐚🐢
Me oh my! The best video evah!🎉😊
Your BEST effort ever! When my wiffe, son, and I visited the Marquesas for the 1st time in 1980, the native culture was less effected by the outside world and communications were very limited, but they were the same wonderful, generous people. They always wanted to share their way of life with strangers.
You guys are fantastic, but your kids always steal the show!! Great video!!!
I an 78 from Ontario and I just love the older gentleman explaining how to rig your fishing hand line. I could understand his French instructions. I love your videos. You four are so educational, I envy your life on board Naha.
I haven’t checked in on your channel for a while. What a nice return it was. The voiceover and your general storytelling is really calm, interesting and nice, congrats! ❤ Congratulations with your lovely kids! 😊
Imagine, growing up on an island like those. How disappointing it would be visiting other places around the world. Truly beautiful. Thank you for showing these majestic places. Your hard work getting these places posted are appreciated.
If you grow up on island like that, you may count the days until you can leave.
What can I say? This is absolutely stunning! So emotional for me- your children's experiences. How you relate with cultures. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
EPIC video Nahoa family! Wow. I’m speechless…
Great episode guys! I remember walking up that damned hill after 19 days at sea and I wasn’t pushing two kids in a buggy! lol . Absolutely epic place.
This video has to be in the top ten of the hundreds I have watched throughout the years,, Thanks for the wonderful sights and your meetings with the people xx
Wow! What a beautiful lush but rugged place (thanks Ashley!) The village tucked away at the base of those majestic rock mountains seems to be way beyond what some might call poor and have nothings.. I would take that any day over riches and city living. The simpler life is one to be desired!
Thank you Ben and Ashley for the awesome content in your videos..
It would be easy to re-arrange your life in that direction.
@@allanfifield8256 Yes it would be... But.... I am committed to my spouse who isn't at all interested in downsizing and living the simple life, I take my marriage vows seriously so I won't be jetting/boating off anytime soon!
Love Tahiti. Glad to see that TH-cam finally figured out that the kids were not being exploited.
You are great my friends, hello from Istanbul, Turkiye…❤❤❤
What a wonderful visit, thanks for taking me with you!😊🇨🇦
It is great you taught your kids to swim. I see so many boating families that don't.
I don’t know whether you read these comments or not. Today I felt compelled to tell you how your videos help. I’m from Victoria BC. My wife Susan had metastatic breast cancer for many years. We were soulmates together for 30 years. I began escaping into your videos in 2019 I think before the cancer really got worse. You both share so much of yourselves here it became my place to escape to. I feel I know you. It was easy to imagine myself and Susan there too. When she passed in 2022 I nearly followed her. My health failed too. Throughout these very hard years I often escape to Nahoa. You two sharing your dream life helps so much when you have lost everything. It’s such a beautiful fantasy. Wishing your family much love ❤
❤️❤️❤️ absolutely we read the comments! So sorry for your loss. We feel your pain as loss (from cancer) is what put us on this trajectory as well. I’m glad we can help just a little bit. We will always call Victoria home and you may even see us around there in the coming months as we take some time to deal with Willa’s anaphylaxis to milk. Thanks for commenting ❤️
@ I didn’t know you were from Victoria. How coincidental is that? I live in East Sooke on a waterfront horse boarding property. Serine and beautiful.
Such happy parents 😊your kiddos are so blessed 🇨🇦
Oh what a great life you are having. I have been enjoying each and every video you post. Creating a page like this you have and are bringing us along with you. The kids are having fun, learning things that those land lubbers do not get to see or experience. Keep up the education of your kids this way will give them a healthy lifestyle once they are old enough. I should say not only the kids learning but you 2 and all your followers as well.
Little Bodie is tuff like his Momma;)
The kids are so dang adorable.
Willow is the same age as my granddaughter. It’s the best life ever being on the water. Even my granddaughter Liv is a water baby and loves driving the tender.
Tahiti is such a beautiful place! Isn’t it amazing how clean the islands with no trash. The people are so wonderful.. I want to go back.

Wonderful video! The adventure is ON again!
So loved this episode. Envious of you and your travels. At 73 these are lost dreams .
One word to describe your content is ENRICHING! Been watching your videos for the last 5 years at least and I'm always inspired by your content. Watching your kids in the water and with the horses actually brought tears to my eyes! Thank you for sharing such joy and great vibes - you are positively affecting the world! 🙏🏼🙏🏼☀
Unbelievably beautiful. Tks for sharing. Prayers going to your family.
That was an absolute joy to watch! What a beautiful place, beautiful people and beautiful music. Enjoy your time there. Slowly, slowly...
Thanks y'all for showing me a place I've dreamed off for 60 years ❤
Spectacular place with spectacular people. Thanks for sharing.
Love the island! Thank you for sharing it with us!
How wonderful!!! The kids took to water like their fish. Beautiful place.. I’ll never make it there so a huge thank you for sharing this magnificent place.
I am so happy for you guys! You made it to land, are off and walking in familiar beautiful land and the kids are having a great time. I love your smiles and the joy of just being where you are and happy to return to. I'm also so impressed with how fast your family makes friends wherever you go, the languages you speak and the joy you find in the different cultures you encounter. Before you know it the locals are talking to you like family members. Very cool!
This is awesome, the recaps and just thinking about what that must be like to feel like your “back around” now that’s the reward of the lifelong journey!
Love your family and your adventures. 🌺 Thanks for the wonderful videos. ❤
I'm not sure if, when or how, but this is an area of the world I would love to explore. Until then, thank you for taking us along on your journey. I love how you not only share the beautiful scenery of a particular place, but also about the lives of those who call it home. Another excellent episode!
Watched this one twice. Great stuff.
Best sailing ⛵️ channel on TH-cam
Hello Ben & Ash
I've been following your travels for years now. I LOVE your channel and i honestly feel like a member of the family seeing your kids grow up and sharing in your adventures. Your kids are going to have the most amazing childhood memories & experiences .... Just imagine the incredible humans they are growing up to become with such a free overflowing with authentic experiences
Thanks so much for sharing your amazing lives and experiences with us all
Much Love xo
This stunning place so dear to your hearts❤thank you so much for sharing ❤❤❤
Man I been watching you guys for so long now you have two kids.
😀😀👍👍❤❤ Long time subscriber and I also watched this video twice. As always, your filming, editing and narration are at the very top on TH-cam! Willa is becoming quite a mermaid. Bohdi has his mom's balance for scootering. Only seeing the kids once a week makes it easy to see how fast they are growing! Bye for this week from Seattle, WA. (Northwest USA)
Greetings from Denmark)) I just wanna mention Ashley seems so naturally happy it inspires me... I wanna be like you when I grow up!)))))))) Cheers guys, congrats on your choices and accomplishments!!! Love to watch you guys while I prepare my life to set sail with Mommy and our 2 small kids
I am on the Canadian West Coast and have been wearing Vessi shoes for about 4 years....they are the best. I've never had a leak in our west coast rain and great for walking the dogs on the wet grass. I'm just about to purchase another pair...just have to make up my mind. Thanks for all your great videos. Such an education for your children....I'm truly envious.
Incredible for 65 !! Thanks for showing us another culture & beauty 🇨🇦 ❤
Loved it! The local music was perfect and the narrative of the fisherman was great. My husband grew up in New Zealand with lots of friends from French Polynesia which we have visited over the years. This episode took him home!❤
So fun to have you back in paradise! Happy for your family. And Ashley it seems you learned your French language lessons very well!
What an extraordinary treat, I can see and feel why this is your most unique and memorable special place❤ you feel instantly humble and blessed 😍
Fantastic episode! I have no other words... Thank you for sharing, and as always, looking forward to the next.... Cheers!
Goodness the beauty. Favorite show ever. Special place for special people. All the best Nahoa!!!
All your episodes are great to watch but this one was particularly awesome. What a stunning place! Your love of the experience was palpable. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing.
Hi guys. I have been watching your channel since 2017 or 2018. You are among those that inspired me to get a boat and set sail. I have been live aboard cruising for almost 2 years now in the Caribbean. I hope one day to circumnavigate. I have loved your channel because of content like this video. You both, like myself, love to really immerse yourselves in the places you visit. You truly love to meet and learn from local cultures, take in the beauty of the natural environment, and in my opinion it really comes through in your videos. It is so refreshing to be reminded of all the beauty in this world outside of the hustle and bustle of “modern” life. Cheers and best wishes to you and your families.
Thanks you guys.. I really felt this one.. What an amazing place.. Thank you for taking me with you.. Love to you all!! Rolfie
Your channel and WE sail make me want to go to French Polynesia so bad!!! It is so amazingly beautiful, it would be like a religious experience everyday and I'd probably cry the whole time just because of how beautiful it is. ❤️ I love your channel! Thank you for such great videos!
Fatu Hiva is breathtakingly beautiful 23:40❗️Thank you for telling your awe-inspiring family story of life on a sailing vessel and of the admirable people on Fatu Hiva.
I love this video, i arrived at Fatu Hiva myself just half a year ago, also after 26 days at sea. Good to see all those magical places again ❤
Fantastisk, vifølger fra Bodø i Norge :)
I am so grateful for you sharing this beautiful video, the photography and drone shots truly amazing 😊 blessings to you all 🙏🙏🥰⛵️⛵️⛵️
Glad you are teaching your kids how to experience life and not be afraid to do so!
Way to keep it classy and entertaining! Thanks for sharing your stories.
Beautiful, beautiful video. like the pot at the end of the rainbow. A true reward to find a place like this.
Wow. Awesome episode. Thanks for taking us along. Teaching Bodie and Willow about the world looks so rewarding.
This episode wow! So much to say but I’m in the middle of packing for my own trip but not quite as spectacular as this!! This made me so joyful. The scenery and the kids and you guys. So fabulous! I’m going to come back and watch this again from my seaside hammock in a few days. In my daydream you’ll be picking me up haha. Soon come! 🥰
Thanks Ben and Ashley as always ❤
your family and the life you're living..... its my "if i win the lotto" dream.. i love the journey
Thank you for letting me travel through your eyes!
Fabulous episode guys!
(gotta' get me some of those Vessi's!)
I just stumbled on this video. The Marquesas are beautiful but the trip you are taking reminds me of the couple from the book "all in the same boat". A Toronto couple who sailed around the world many years ago in a custom 30ft junk rugged sloop with just like you 2 children. I still have the 2 books and reread from time to time. Having children with you also opens more doors to the local people. Have a continued great journey.
Absolutely phenomenal documentation of different cultures and places in the world that most of us will never see or get to experience. I just hope that you understand the impact you make on so many people with your channel. Beautiful family!
8:32 Ben use a makeup brush to apply the sunscreen on kids, so much easier to spread on face.
My favorite place in the world! Thank you :)
Seems like you have solved your problem.
Y'all are incredible parents! Great video, again, thank you.
It's been a little while since I've watched your videos. I've been putting it off just to leave some videos for later..lol l...as I really enjoy watching your adventures.
It was incredible to see baby Bodhi h Willa snorkeling. They're a natural. Super impressive.
Also beautiful island. You can feel the peace they live in just by watching this video.
It's good to see you guys again. I've missed you guys. On to the next video.
I'm really loving this!
Absolutely fudging amazing place!
I'm so honoured to visit (on my sofa), and appreciate it, thanks to you all!
Please stay as long as possible!❤❤❤❤
Thank you for that beautiful video! Everything is so wonderful there. Major sealegs at first. LOL. Willa and Bodhi are fanastic swimmers, so fun! Keep on being you and having fun!❤️
What a treat of an episode you guys, I was smiling all the way through it.
That place is magical, the big sky and big mountains, the textures and the wonderful trees and plants, I think I even caught a whiff of lime!
Thank you lovely family for sharing the magic and philosophy ❤❤❤❤❤
New to your channel, but I have loved watching! Willa was so sweet with that horse! What an amazing family life!
Thank you so much for sharing your family adventure. What a beautiful place and I hope you can spend some extra time there just enjoying life’s blessings. May god continue to Bless you and your family.
So cool to see how confident the kids are in the water with snorkeling and boat handling. I love the way you guys are schooling the youngsters in the ways of the world. I also love your style of narration too, very real. Looking forward to catching up with you guys if you make it back to Whangarei. Cheers.
What a nice reminder of our time there. We also loved this island soooo much, glad that we met there. See you soon again in an island down the road!
Epically breathtaking for sure. Thx for sharing the trip. Love you guys.
What a beautiful place. What a beautiful way to raise your family and way of life. ❤️🙌🏼🙏🏻👍🏼
My son just joined the coast guard and worried how he is going to feel out there in the deep ocean. I ended up watching your videos and got hooked and my worry for my son is gone.❤

This is what its all about, period! One day I hope to visit, thanks Nahoa can't wait until your next upload.
Wow. Is this the best sailing channel. Great video , fantastic place. Such a well balanced family, great parents make great kids. Wonderful to see the children swimming and enjoying the water. Makes me want to go and get a boat, and I'm 68. Never too old eh?
Soooo enjoyed this chapter Love Sunday nights catching up with you all 🙏
coolest family on earth (oceans)
We visited the Marquesas in 1999, and could only walk 50 feet before having to sit down and rest. The locals were so generous that we ate so much fruits. What was really amazing was the shades of green and I am sure some of those shades of green only exist in the Marquesas. Lots of memories watching your video.
