In this video, I helped to solve an issue with a friends car that had developed a problem with the intermittent windscreen wiper settings.
The fault that had developed was that when intermittent settings were selected, they didn't function and the wiper would only go on normal and fast speeds. Also the most annoying part of the problem was that when you switched of the wiper, it would go back to the resting parked position momentarily, then swing back up to half way across the screen where it would finally park!. You would then need to get out and physically push the wiper down to the proper position.
The first attempt to fix the issue was to replace the wiper stalk as it also houses the built in relay switch and I assumed that the relay would be the most likely cause of the issue. Once replaced with another stalk and it didn't make any difference, I decided that the fault must then lie within the wiper motor electronics or assembly and as you can see from this video, the replacement of this part did work and fix the issue. As this model shares a lot of the same components as the Citroen C1 and the Peugeot 107 then this could also be a potential fix to bear in mind on those vehicles too if they develop this problem. In fact the used replacement wiper motor that I fitted here did originally come from a Peugeot 107, (they appear to be made by Valeo).
