I got a dent similar to yours on the driver side fender. My truck was converted to 4x4 as well😂 maybe I need to swap in a solid Dana 44 so I can match yours even more

(I run much larger tires) 35s 37s hell even heard of people doing 40s on 44s but 35s are pretty widely accepted as what you wanna run on a stock 44 in the off roading world, not saying you can't, just maybe you shouldn't🤣 it's all up to the guy though. I run 46s on Dana 60 35 spline and most people would call me retarded, they're right. I should really be running 40 splines. I pay a lot for stub axles through the season.
I have yet to break my axles. I’ve ran mine through some nasty, nasty mud holes and whoopty doos. Chromoly axles front and rear. If wanted bigger tires I’d get a different truck and run one ton axles.

on the tire size, you're going to break axles the way it is, unless you're upgraded, going to 37's all but guarantees that.
I've had 35s on my D44/8.8 for 5 or 6 years now without a problem...
