    I picked up a set of 33x12.5r17 Kenda Klever RTs in November and I can tell you next year, if I go with 35s instead, I am without a doubt going with a 35 in Kenda Klever RT. These tires have ushered me through snow, deeeeep snow, mud and some killer rocks so far. Along with hundreds of highway miles in just two short months. This is now my new go-to tire. This tire can truly do it all! For the money you can't get any better and for the performance, all other tires are obsolete to me.

    Thanks for the info. Still waiting for my Michelin’s to wear out. Got 50,000 on them and it looks like they can go another 30-40,000. If I get 70-80,000 on them, the price per mile becomes very budget friendly.

    I’ll be going with the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT in a 37x12.5/17 on my Jeep. I need a solid off road tire with great onroad manners as well. I’m running 35” BGF KO2’s and while I really have no complaints about them, been all over the country in them and in all sorts of terrain and haven’t let me down but I want to make a change and give the MT’s a try, have heard a lot of good about them and the warranty and 3PMSF rating is a big bonus to me.

    I've had Duratrac tires on 3 Jeeps & my current Toyota FJ Cruiser. And I have actually gone off road. And I have driven in super bad snow, ice, blizzards (I live right by Chicago). Amazing tires for larger SUV's / trucks. If you want something that is great for a SUV / CUV that is mostly on road, but sometimes goes camping, or off the path, check out the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires.

    I have the rubitreks on my first gen sequoia and love them. I don’t do a lot of hard core off-roading but they do great on the road, in the rain, on snow and ice, in gravel and some light mud and have no complaints. I was planning on upgrading to ko2s or AT3s but after running them I will be replacing them with the exact same tire unless they get too popular and the price jumps up too much. Speaking of which, turns out I was lying, don’t buy them so they stay cheap 😂

    • @PMcGuffin
      @PMcGuffin หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TW--- from my limited experience in snow they have been good. I’ve dealt with more ice than snow and they got me where I needed to go without any loss of traction. I drive conservatively though so you have to keep that in mind. My tires are E load rated so they are pretty heavy duty, and physically heavy.. I’m not sure if they are considered LT or not. Overall I’m still very happy with them. The only reason I’d get other tires is if I wanted a more aggressive off road tire.

I was coming from the factory Hankook Dynapro 275/55/20's which were very quiet, and notice only a minor increase in noise, but it's barely noticeable. Keep in mind this truck has always had a very quiet interior. Ford did a great job with sound isolation. So maybe on other vehicles it's more noticeable. But I can assure you on a modern F150 it's a non-issue, unless you are super-finicky.

I have four acres of very steep land and its been very wet and my 4runner and those tires make it effortless. Clean the mud off and jump right on the road for a decently quite ride. Just enough of an aggressive tire, but it rides and handles the on road as good as it does off road. Four tires for 800$ is pretty hard to pass up, not to mention they look damn good on my 4runner.

    In December of this year I just bought a set of Toyo Open country all terrains in 12.50 x17” x37” diameter load range “ E” for my 2002 GMC Sierra . I’ve run 2 sets of Pro-Comp tires & two sets of Toyo’s all in past 21 years of ownership now and truck has been on 3 sets of 37” tires and one set of 35” tires since day one. Personally I prefer he Toyo tires over the Pro-comps as they ride well & wear much better for my application ( Truck is currently set up as a full sized overland rig with All the usual crap added …. Read HEAVY & always loaded ), and still handles & rides nicely . Might try a set of Cooper tires after this current set of tires eventually wears out as a good Buddy of mine has an almost identical twin truck( minus the excess overland stuff) and swears by his tires . A 10 to 11 state road trip here on Western United States next April- May & maybe part of June through whatever kind of terrain & weather Mother Nature throws at us should provide some great feedback & comparisons. Time will tell … I looked at the Kenda tires before this last set of Toyo’s , but they only made a load range “ D” in my size & with all the extra weight I’m carrying didn’t want to risk a blowout or failure at highway speeds …. 😐. Thanks for sharing your video & letting me rant here . C-ya out in life someday. 🤞

    I just put a set of Wildpeak RT’s on my F250 Tremor. Love them so far but haven’t gotten to go off roading much yet. Great on wet roads, they seem to clean out well in the little bit of mud I’ve gone through and the road noise isn’t half bad. If they’re decent in snow I’ll definitely be putting a set on my Grand Cherokee next.

    I was hoping to see Amp AT/ Pro on the list. I just bought a new set today. The first set I put on at 6000km on my new 2019 Ram 1500 4x4. My truck's odometer reads just over 102 000 km today. They said I had between 35 to 40 percent life left on the old ones. They work well in winter here in Edmonton Alberta. Never had a flat tire and they are quite quiet on the highway. They balanced easily and wore evenly despite the fact I only rotated them twice. I don't know how the mud tires balance but these do. At the price point how could I complain??

    Is there a big different between the Rubi trek and the at3w and the at4w?

    • @TrailBuilt
      @TrailBuilt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We just posted a comparison video of the AT3W vs AT4W. We covered all the important factors of the tires and put them in a head-to-head battle to see which one is better and if the AT4W is truly an "upgrade". Check out that video as it may help you!
      Regarding the difference between the Rubi Trek and the AT3W and AT4W, the biggest factor, of course, is the cost. The Rubi Trek is going to give you a cheaper price. On the flip side, the more expensive price of the AT3W and, so far, the AT4W has been justified as they have been holding up to their price point and providing great traction and lifespan for riders. The Rubi Trek is also lighter, but may not provide as much durability and grip on snowy roads.
      Hope this helps!

    Best way to save money is to buy excellent no compromise tires one size smaller than your peer group says you need. I do more on 32” mickey thompsons than 95 percent of guys on 37s. 33s are a great compromise size unless you’re doing top 1% trails or tons of mud.

    I put a set of Road One Calvary tires from Amazon, on my 91 suburban for $ 600 tires, $130 mount and balance at a local shop. Had them on for a year and so far they've been great tires, especially for the price. When it comes to snow, sleet and ice, these tires are sticky. The only bad thing about them is, the price point increased since I bought them years ago, I'm sure due to it's gain in popularity.

    Running the Cooper Rugged Trek on my 2014 Ram 2500. Amazing tire. Just finished a road trip from Utah to Remote Northern California and back fighting snowy weather. They performed incredible. Road noise is the same as any AT tire. Anyone complaining about road noise for this tire is going to have the same complaint with any tire not designed specifically for dry highway use. I highly recommend the Cooper Rugged Trek.
