I almost purchased a brand new 24 RS for 22500. Driving it was great, light, easy to steer and maneuver. Dont have a garage yet so keeping my well running old car.
I'm in rental cars about 30 days of the year. Usually 'full size' which is where the Malibu slots. Never select it. Generally the Camry or Altima if they've snuck in a higher trim level. I prefer the Camry driving experience (more hp, no CVT) but the Altima has a better radio, especially when I find an SL trim version (rare but sometimes).
Thats what I like about it! I absolutely hate new cars i buy old beaters all the time and have much better luck with older cars. I hate when they make everything so high tech like dude I just need to drive 12 miles a day thats all I dont need anything fancy. I like it much better when they are just simple and old school.
My 22 Malibu base has been great after 27 k miles except for rust on rear subframe ....smeared with fluid film now . 5 k or less dexos oil changes and even did a drain and fill on cvt....pretty good value but of course they got rid of it for lousy evs....mine was 20k otd after supplier discount, gm card...39.9 mpg too
Omg, that car is expensive for what it is! Very few features in 2025 for a 2016 designed car. I have a 2022 Kia K5 with a little over 30k miles on it with no issues. Just oiled changes. It has way more tech too and looks more modern, with a full suite of driver assist features.
This car was always way too expensive for what it was. It had absolutely nothing “special” to set it apart from the others in the segment. Even at almost 30k you couldn’t even get led lighting even as a 2025 year model. It’s sad that Chevrolet stopped putting any effort into the Malibu.
Actually a nice car..your comparison with Sentra, K-5 and. Sonata are fair enough. Use you best consumer deal making on this one to make it a value purchase. Premium synthetic pil change every 3K miles, for sure. Review mh its every t
Destination charges are a scam. I only buy vehicles from dealers who won't charge me for shipping a new car that the dealership ordered to sell, versus me ordering it brand new with MY choice of options.
@djlennyb if the customer custom orders the vehicle, yes, it's applicable but if the dealership orders the vehicle without having a customer lined up then the destination charge shouldn't ethically be placed on the customer.
I wish they'd kept the twist key. And the CD drive.
Awesome daily driver. Been driving a 2022 Malibu for almost 3 years now. It gave me zero issues and required very little maintenance.
Glad to hear. Thanks for tuning in and the feedback. Much appreciated 👍
i work at a chevy dealer consistently see these malibus running great with 200k miles on them

Current Malibu model has been manufactured from 2016 to 2025 year, crazy long time.
9 years
Does it still have mandatory stop n go that cannot be disabled?
Can't believe it doesn't have satellite radio. Ridiculous.
Agreed. Needs it.

I didn't like my satellite subscription. Got rid of it.
Satellite is weak

This thing is a dinosaur!
Yeah 9 years of the ninth gen
It's a good dinosaur. I'd take it.

Kia 😅 My Malibu has ZERO issues as well soooooooo
Chevy’s really phoning it in
What are you doing Chevy??!!??!!??
Not US
Had a few as rentals and they're not that bad, GM has a ton of info on the screens and safety annoying features, but ran well great HVAC and MPG.

I agree. It’s a sad ending to a marque that has been in production since 1964.
They did nothing to it for 9 years
Cool stories.. Love mine.. Looks better than accords and camrys ...
I thought 2024 was the last year model for these cars , and after that they were being discontinued .
They continued it for a short run for the 2025 MY. Production ended in November.
I’d stay with the Camry. A few thousand more to avoid lots of repairs and hassle in the future.
Lots of repairs 😅 ok
I prefer sticking with a Honda or Toyota🤔
Good for you

...hits all the nails on the head"!
Thanks Louis!

Destination charge is if they don't have it guy

Same badge on Impreza RS. LOL
And the Impreza is quicker. This one just an appearance package and not much of one.
Less HP than a Corolla?
You race or do you drive normal SMH
It’s a shame Chevy has gotten rid of all of their sedans. SMHChevy put no effort into modernizing this rental car fleet rental
And those are????
Nightmare of a car!
Do you own one?Or you just hate Malibus?
Nightmare driver
If you don’t care, why should I?
This is a copy cat of my GAC Empow! check it out!
I'd be a buyer if it did not have a Direct injection engine with a CVT. No freaking way do I want to own that trouble.
Trouble 😅 ok
GM POS 😂
