I bought my daughter a new 2023 Malibu RS last year. She's put 22,000 mile on it so far with zero problems. I make sure she changes the oil every four thousand miles. She loves the car. I enjoy it very much when I occasionally get a chance to drive it.

My only complaint now that I think about it is that the car won't shift out of gear upon starting unless you put your seatbelt on or wait about 15 seconds for the seatbelt warning light/chime to stop. It's a little annoying when I just want to move it out of my driveway and park it on the street. Also the stereo is very weak. Other then that it's great.

@@EasyE1669 that sounds like a safety device GM installed. Also, their stereos have never really been good, that's why there's aftermarket stereos.

@@jackson5116 true Jackson, my daughter commented on how she wished she had a custom aftermarket stereo in her car like I have in mine.

Hiw reliable are the malibu. I just recently traded my 2018 colorado with over 136k miles for an 2024 malibu LS. Wanted an car with little maintenance. The colorado was causing problems

generally, they're very reliable. They've been on the market without any stoppages since 1997, but don't expect them to fly off the line at red lights, they're not powerhouses that they were in the 1970's, they're more of a family sedan that gets really good gas mileage.

If you're buying a Malibu for power or for value, then you're getting a 1970's Malibu. Otherwise, you're getting a fuel efficient family sedan. That's all they are now.
