If you could do a film based on the Allied side, that would be a great contrast, although I do like the authenticity and originality of stories on the Axis side. I am a loyal subscriber but a critic at the same time. Please accept my choices and I would like it if you could reply to my comments and inform me of what such will come next and how you could improve the small mistakes in films. Good idea to pin me (optional) so other critics and Productions can analyse my/your opinions.
Short films are often heavily criticised on these pages because the soldiers don't have the right shoe laces or something or other, but what impressed me, and this is the most important detail, is this was top class filming and it felt like the scenes in the barn were made on a much higher budget. Well done, you'll be able to afford period authentic shoe laces if you can make good films like this.
This is by far one of the BEST war movies! So great! So great!!! Sound effects are on the top man! On the top! Made my hair stand....so amazing... Keep up the good work, Mike! Fantastic!
man this is just awesome, so intense and suspenseful.. i'm just like wow. all of the shots, cuts, audio overdubs or whatever you call it and the tones really made it what it is. just the overall execution of the story was really good. you also have some really ace actors. just wow! this guy def knows what he's doing! i will definitely help fund your first proper movie!

Hey! We shot on the blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6K, with EF mount Rokinon cine DS lenses, and some shots with the canon 70-200 2.8 IS. No diffusion, the natural fog was amazing to work with.
Just one point. I’m not sure you would have seen, late in the war, men in black Allgemeine SS uniforms in this setting...especially Germans. These uniforms were a political uniform and not a military one like the later Waffen SS field grey uniforms, and around 1940, many of these black uniforms were recalled, stripped of their German insignia and issued to non-German SS units...ie the Dutch, Norwegians and others. German SS men were mainly seeing service in the Waffen SS and so the grey ensemble was predominant. There were some, but very few, in Germany very late in the war that had the right to wear the black uniform, but more often than not, these people were looked upon with distain as many thought they were shirking their duty to the Fatherland.....so seeing an SS officer dressed in such a ‘flamboyant’ uniform in a battle setting would have been rather unlikely....not to mention inviting trouble being so easy to spot...
Only three problems 1. The French Partisans (Resistance) would most probably have known good enough English after the D - Day landings. They would have had to. 2. The American paratrooper should have been equipped with a primary gun, most probably an M1 Garand or M1928 Thompson. 3. No English subtitles for the French and German? Otherwise, and excellent film showing the bravery of those who fought in the deadliest human conflict.
The guy wearing a White T-shirt kinda Thru the Color grade off a tad Bit. Disturbed the " mood " of the Scene . Other than that wow. Great, you are a Good Film maker. 😉👌
They did a pretty good job making this short film 🎥. I just don't understand if that guy helping him is French or German because he speaks both. Why would he be so fast to trust a German? Why is a German wearing a French flag armband and part if the French Resistance?
Like all movies I see...they leave a gun behind(10:22). I never understand this...if I was being chases, I believe I would want more than a 1911 in my hand.
Great film, however the German uniforms are very inaccurate. First the SS officer would not be wearing the stereotypical black uniform with the Nazi armband. Once the war began the black uniform was seldom used and would never at all be used in combat situations because it would be too flashy and an easy target for allied soldiers. Second, The SS officer is in command of Whermacht troops, these were two different branches of the German military during ww2. Lastly, the German soldier with the MP40 (a submachine gun) has Kar98 rifle pouches. Not trying to be a dick these are just some inaccuracies that stood out to me.

Let's see...German-occupied France and a resistance fighter is wandering around unarmed. Yup, that makes sense. US soldier in combat removes his uniform...never. US soldier abandons a resistance fighter who saved him...no man would. Too wounded? He sure doesn't look it walking out, fully exposed and silhouetted over a hill. That's not the way a soldier stays alive. Otherwise fun to watch.

you could of made the actors more dirty on mud and more swetty or somehting it would look more realistic but the rest is amazing work !! great film !
It was a jump though, they could’ve just dry cleaned their uniforms before entering the planes. They did that for D-Day and Market Garden.
But yeah they could’ve made the other people’s uniforms dirty and maybe the Americans just a little.
