Having watched your shows over many years it's cool to see you in a fantastic, modern day kitchen prepping your successful hunt. I think the old saying should be updated to "to the hunter go the spoils, and rightly so". Such a cool video, as always thanks for sharing your celebration with us.
Love it. I have an annual pig roast every labor day weekend! This year will be the 8th. We always held them on the 4th of July at my grandparents farm growing up. It was my favorite part of the year. I wanted my kids, nieces, and nephews to share that experience. ... EVERYONE looks forward to it every year now!
This video was great, the only thing missing was watching him eat it. A missed opportunity! Still great though, but more satisfying to watch him eat what he made and we can live through Steve!
Why didn't you coat the skin in a layer of salt? And then flip skin-down to finish after having knocked off the salt crust? Maybe not enough fat, but crispy skin is needed. Would still enjoy, but chicharrons are a huge part of a fired pig roast down south.
I'm from East Texas, I will only consume a hog that has a healthy fat layer. I prefer a young, fat sow under about 70 pounds. If it's getting a lot of corn or grain even better.
You know that scene in National Lampoon's Vacation (the real one with Chevy Chase and Wally World) where they're at cousin Eddie's house talking money and Eddie says "Well I didn't want to ask you Clark, you know, but could you maybe spare a little extra cash?" and Chevy Chase says "sure, Eddie" all cocky and pulls his wallet out and asks, "how much do you need?" and Eddie says, "about 52 thousand dollars", and Chevy Chase just calmly slips the 20's back into his wallet. I just lived that scene when I looked up how much that chef's knife costs hahaha. I'll let you look it up yourself so you can have the same experience hahaha. You're welcome.
What's up dude? I've been watching your content for years. Love it. This video is like "Yeah, we really didn't plan anything or know what we were doing, or care. We just needed some content."
Hey Steve, you probably won't respond to this, but if you do, could you maybe suggest an amazing way to cook venison? My dad has cooked deer in every way possible, and he's been looking for new recipes to share with the family. Could you maybe make a video on things that you love to make when it comes to venison or provide me with a recipe that we could try out?
Just having a little fun with you Steve. In all truth, I have a great deal of respect for what you are able to do as a hunter in the outdoors. And because hunting and cooking has been your lifestyle all of your life, I am seriously considering buying your cookbook.
The video is great. The food Im certain is delicious. The host, eh, he ain't so bad. But the music is terrible and too loud. Maybe Im just gettin old but I can barely hear Steve talking.
This would have been a good video if he actually cooked outdoors. Grilling is not "outdoor cooking". Love 99% of their content, but after all the years of watching Steve _actually_ cook outdoors, this is a disappointing video.
You know what sucks Steve? My wife bought your cookbook there for me for Christmas and many of the recipes you have in there have milk and butter, to which I have a lactose allergy. Looks like charred meat for me... just like grandpa made and his grandpa before him....
“When I got married we tried to have a pig roast, it got shot down” lol
I think Kimi missed out not calling it Kimichurri
I came here to say exactly this.
It would have been a good portmanteau.
Kimichurri smacks! Just like dat ass 😉)
This intro is why Steve is the best and these cooking videos are some of my favorite that meateater puts out.
I enjoy the MeatEater Cooking shows as much as the hunting shows
Me to but this is more of a commercial
@@Kennoisewater123 commercial for his own cookbook lol so not really a commercial when the video and the book are about the same thing
@@BobaPhettamine the point is everything that comes out of him anymore is a commercial. Money focused
@@Kennoisewater123 if you don't like it stop watching and don't comment
@@BobaPhettamine turns out I couldn’t care less what you had or have to say or think my friend enjoy your day
I bought my 6 yr old granddaughter Catch a Crayfish, she loves it, and does things from the book.
You changed how I eat !
Keep it up man.
I can just hear, “I am not having a PIG ROAST at my wedding!!!”
Time to find a new person to wear that wedding band
Mr Steve, i could literally watch you could all day long.. so informative, so thorough, & so eloquently done. Please continue the good work.

Love you Steve! Never change!
Who ever is in charge of the sound track, spot on every video.
Just got my autographed copy in the mail last week and everything looks amazing! Can't wait to start trying recipes from it.
My favorite way to top my hotdog is mayo, white onion, jalapeno or sport peppers and cilantro.
This video was great, the only thing missing was watching him eat it. A missed opportunity! Still great though, but more satisfying to watch him eat what he made and we can live through Steve!
Hell yes brother! That looks amazing. Clean kill, clean cook, and tasty fixins. Don’t get much better than that! Can’t wait for the book.
Steve is the best man! Gotta get the book dude thank you!
Man I can't wait to have that book in my hands!

Outdoor cooking. In the comfort of my kitchen.
My husband and I are trying to get our first wild hog soon…. Once we do, his brother in law (who’s a chef) promised that we’ll have a hog roast!
Great to see more cooking videos, by far my favourite have been your paddock to plate episodes, love the show thanks guys
Looks delicious Steven, maybe you can bring some to Sacramento when you come April 27th. I would love to try it! Love the MeatEater crew!
Keep the vids a comin Mr.Rinella!! Love em!
Looks wonderful Steven!
Big budget camera work! 👏
Not one bite!!!!!
Steve what the hell!
Kimiswimmy would never deny herself, buddy or us the pleasure of eating such a meal…….
😮
Excellent job +another book for my collection
I was sold with the chimichurri.
It's true. I grew up and live in west MI and we did pig roasts for every event growing up lol.
Real outdoorsman lady's and gentlemen...
Gonna have to get a copy of that. The last book of yours i got was amazing!
Great segment!
In Brazil, me and my family, we like to do a thing called pururuca with the skin, it taste awesome, should try Steve
Thanks Mr.Rinella will be usefull
Making me hungry don't care if its dry that's a preference👍😎😉
Steve is a great dude and fantastic hunter. Shame he can't cook a lick
Nicely Done 🎉
Cant wait for my signed copy to come in! Ginna have to restock on some hogs in the mean time haha
Great looking knife❤
Missing Steven hunting

I too grew up in West Michigan and can totally confirm a summer without at least 3-4 pig roasts is summer not worth remembering.
we need an Invasive species eating celebration month every year . 🍴
Try making the laos or thai pepper dipping sauce, it’s phenomenal for any meats.
What is that first lite buttoned shirt? I need one or several of those!
I need that cook book. :o

Becoming a bit of an infomercial with all the cookbook stuff
What Firstlite shirt are you wearing? I want one
Wild pork is the best I've ever had
I call my kitchen outdoors too? What what!
Glad steve is at the age stopped playing with the easy bake oven pellet grill. Food taste better with charcoal
MKC for the win !!!
Well, there are people that prefer their chefs knives to be less than $500

More Kimi please, such a slayer Goddess..🔥😍
You live in town? I figured you’d have a big Montana ranch by now.

Google hank shaw hunter gather cook, plenty of venison recipes, steak Diane, stroganoff, sausages, etc
I can’t find this shirt on the First Lite website! What is it!!
hey had a pig roast when i turned 40 too lol
Does anyone know the name of his shirt?
What knife is Steve using?
Was there salt in chimichurri? Did I miss something?
Looks like you almost started your fireplace mantel on fire
Where can I get that sweet shirt Steve is wearing in the video?
How did you get any cooking recipes from the ice-age? Were they carved on a boulder in a prehistoric cave?
Just having a little fun with you Steve. In all truth, I have a great deal of respect for what you are able to do as a hunter in the outdoors. And because hunting and cooking has been your lifestyle all of your life, I am seriously considering buying your cookbook.
Thanks, very nice video 🥰🥰🥰
Can you please do a video of how you get the hair off the skin of the pig.
How did you get rid of the hair and bristles??
Bruh.. link to the book isn’t working. 😢
Steve could just do this
Sorry to Kimi, but that's everyone's chimichuri recipe lol
He is just giving her credit for introducing it to him, I think. At least that is how to took it.
Cooked it too hot. Cook it at 225F or less till it’s done, if you want tender.
Remember when Steve made those hunting videos?
“When i got married i tried to have a pig roast but got shot down”….. my mind went right to the gutter on that one lol
😊😊
Its possible this trig has pigionsis
I had a pig roast when I got married
His kids: 👁👄👁
As an Argentinean, it hurt me a bit to see you put cilantro in the Chimichurri but I forgive you.
I thought Hog had a definition? A pig over 500 lbs?
Steve looks like he is hung over
The video is great. The food Im certain is delicious. The host, eh, he ain't so bad. But the music is terrible and too loud. Maybe Im just gettin old but I can barely hear Steve talking.
Use real peppers and also use a mortar and pestle. So much better
you had me 4 ever at werner herzog you sumbich
Algorithm defeated
Music is to loud when he talks
Tucker Carlson said on JRE he likes bird shooting and fly fishing. You should have him on as a guest.
Hes been on trivia before
He’s been on an entire episode Ep. 285
@@bellyfullofbadberries502 thanks
Yeah, totally love ignorant racists
This trig may have piganosis
Outdoor cooking is the title but you are inside ! 🤔
Prep happens
Looks like the fire 🔥 place outside got a bit hot!
Man really pushing the book 🙄
100% trig. All the knives and untensils used bench.... Glen has talked about this. But we all know Steve is bad at hinting
Hunting... Always gets in deep sht for being clueless
This guy is trolling the whole time, right? Like what in the actual F is this??? Keep trying guy
