That looks amazing! We can’t wait to go to Poland. We were supposed to go there in April 2020, but obviously things changed. Considering going to Poland in April 2022. Do you recommend going then?
Mid May will be much better weather wise. Everything will turn green and it will feel amazing. April might be a bit too early and can still be cold. May and early June are the most pleasant. July and August are too hot for me.
Poland has been fantastic to travel, we are here in november and December and we love it despite it being cold, however we get tones of comments recommending the summer months.
@@GoTimeTravels Yes, that is true. Summer in Poland will be very nice and mostly hot. If you lucky it might be even Portuguese kind of hot... I'm originally from Wrocław but I live in Cork since 2005 so I'm very well positioned to compare both our worlds weather wise 😁. Polish summer is probably something I miss the most.
Despite of weather april is in flu season so you can't be sure of what kind of restrictions our goverment would imagine. May is usually ending this madness.

I'm glad you were enjoying the mead you were drinking at the end of the video. It's a traditional drink made in Poland for centuries and very much worth trying. Let me fill you in with some information about it though. The climate here does not allow for growing grapes (well, it does, but it's not as easy as in southern Europe), so there is no big wine tradition. Instead they did produce a similar drink from honey mixed with water. There were 4 standard, traditional proportions, from 1 part of honey : 3 parts of water (so honey makes 1/4 of the volume thus "czwórniak" as "cztery" = "four"), then 1:2 (trójniak), 1:1 (dwójniak) and even 1 part of honey : half a part of water (półtorak) - the sweetest and strongest (and the most expensive). This tradition has some advantage, cause you immediately know what to expect - similar to wine when you can buy dry wine, semi-dry, semi-sweet or sweet. Unfortunately this also kills some creativity, cause those proportions are coded in the law in Poland - in order to produce the mead you need to stick to these ratios and cannot mix it with other ingredients. If you look at craft beer industry, where there are no such regulations and creativity is at it's highest, you can feel that mead did not achieve it's full potential yet. Then you can choose to ferment your drink naturally, with the wild yeast that is in the honey, or you can boil it first to kill anything that was originally in the honey and add dedicated yeast to ferment it. The second way you have more control over the final result and even if the natural fermentation seems more appealing, the second one is more popular as it is less risky for the producers.
wow thats some great information, thank you so much for sharing it with us ❤️ we really enjoyed the Mead in Wroclaw and have had it several times since, especially in Zakopane were its really cold and snowy, the Mead is great from heating us up and is quite nice on the troat and chest ❤️ especially in winter we find
When it comes to beer, the best is called "Miłosław" (best in my opinion of course 🍺👍). You can find it in "Żabka" store. It is a beer from a small brewery and you can find different types. Greetings from the Azores Islands. 🍀 🍀 🍀

Oh my gosh! Wroclaw has got to be one of our fave cities in the world, we were there in the summer of 2017. Actually we love all the places we visited in Poland, seemed like there was always an angel helping us along the way in the guise of locals who were just the nicest and the most helpful to 2 American girls. Hope to visit Poland again and experience Christmas in Wroclaw like you guys! Lovely video!

Defo try the food at Krupowki Street (soo much good food you can get out there- Golonka is a must!). I'm glad you were enjoying the mead you were drinking at the end of the video. It's a traditional drink made in Poland for centuries and very much worth trying. Let me fill you in with some information about it though.
The climate here does not allow for growing grapes (well, it does, but it's not as easy as in southern Europe), so there is no big wine tradition. Instead they did produce a similar drink from honey mixed with water. There were 4 standard, traditional proportions, from 1 part of honey : 3 parts of water (so honey makes 1/4 of the volume thus "czwórniak" as "cztery" = "four"), then 1:2 (trójniak), 1:1 (dwójniak) and even 1 part of honey : half a part of water (półtorak) - the sweetest and strongest (and the most expensive). This tradition has some advantage, cause you immediately know what to expect - similar to wine when you can buy dry wine, semi-dry, semi-sweet or sweet. Unfortunately this also kills some creativity, cause those proportions are coded in the law in Poland - in order to produce the mead you need to stick to these ratios and cannot mix it with other ingredients. If you look at craft beer industry, where there are no such regulations and creativity is at it's highest, you can feel that mead did not achieve it's full potential yet.
Then you can choose to ferment your drink naturally, with the wild yeast that is in the honey, or you can boil it first to kill anything that was originally in the honey and add dedicated yeast to ferment it. The second way you have more control over the final result and even if the natural fermentation seems more appealing, the second one is more popular as it is less risky for the producers.

When it comes to beer, the best is called "Miłosław" (best in my opinion of course 🍺👍). You can find it in "Żabka" store. It is a beer from a small brewery and you can find different types.

Oh my gosh! Wroclaw has got to be one of our fave cities in the world, we were there in the summer of 2017. Actually we love all the places we visited in Poland, seemed like there was always an angel helping us along the way in the guise of locals who were just the nicest and the most helpful to 2 American girls. Hope to visit Poland again and experience Christmas in Wroclaw like you guys! Lovely video!
