Honestly, you can't go wrong either of em. Korean cars been killing it lately. Every vehicle they introduce is straight fire. Kia optima, Sorento, telluride, stinger and Hyundai and Genesis vehicles also. I honestly would pick any of the new Koreans cars over Japanese

Nissan/Infiniti have been doing terrible with their CVT. If 90's was the golden age for Japanese vehicles, now it's the time for Korean vehicles golden age

They basically the same quality, with the same features, just with different styles, colors, and shapes. Telluride for me, but if still take a Palisade any day of the week.

Digital clusters are too bright in comparison, and I tend to keep my car for a longer time than average people so analog guages aren't as expensive if it needs to be replaced compared to fancy digital ones
@ I know Hyundai owns Kia. Regardless if you think analog gauges are timeless or not but the more luxury cars are using LCD gauges, Audi, Lexus, Mercedes. Look at BMW, their cars used analog for many yrs and now most of their vehicles are going with LCD gauges. Kia will be doing the same.
Yes, Genesis GV80's in-line 6 diesel engine is very very refined and has lots of torque. But it's quite costly. Hope to show you Genesis GV80 with 2.5T and 3.5T as well. Thanks
I saw the Palisade in my rear view mirror once and gotta say, it's really distinctive. Love it or hate it, can't really say it's derivative of anything out there. I like the look and the cascading LED bar...really cool

I own a Palisade Limited AWD fully loaded priced at 47k, I just can't see paying 70k for a loaded GV80. It looks fabulous but there isn't 23k difference.
Don’t say it before you sit on the sit. I tested G90 today $70k it feels so premium I was scarred to touching around the car. To me it feel better then S550 for its price.
Totally agree I just got my Palisade limint 3 days ago fully loaded for 47, sticker was 51k. My first Hyndai, I'd been a Toyota driver prior but I have to say the Korean car game is strong. I am absolutely loving driving this suv. The genesis is something I would have wanted to be flashy in my 20's, if I'd had that kind of money. One thing I do wish the Palisade had was that auto parking feature.

Great video! I’m dead set on the GV80 3.5 Prestige being my next SUV. It’ll be another 2 years from now but my mind is made up. For me, no other vehicle offers that level of luxury and tech for that price, and the best warranty to boot!

These are both excellent SUV's with a huge price difference between fully loaded models. Love the looks of the GV80. I don't like the look of the front end of the Palisade, but it was starting to grow on me, but when you see the Palisade next to the GV80 the front end of the GV80 looks much better.

The soft close doors, 12.3” 3-d view dash & electronic controlled sunshades are only available on the top trim on the 3.5. There’s no way to get them on the 2.5 or anything less than the top top trim in the USA.

If we had Genesis GV80 available in Belgium, I would go and buy it right ahead or even any other Genesis car. I think South Korea achieved a very high level of car manufacturing. Huyndai is already a very good car and is sometimes better than other European manufactureres. Overall new GV80 looks very impressive in all aspects! Good job Korea! I love the Palisade - it just needs to have it's front grill scaled down a bit - that large border of silver is just WAY too much.....I think the GV80 is a beautiful car - especially the interior.

The G80, G90, and GV80 are my new dream cars, and my new Euro luxury cars. All the Europe without the compromise. That 3.0 diesel is what I'll go after. Diesel Inline 6's are beautiful to drive and this is one of them. The 2.2 diesel is still a top performer as well. The Palisade is very good and a better option to many competitors in my honest opinion. Two top reviews and enjoyed them both. Keep smiling keep shining. Don't let the corona madness depress you.
I think it says something that I currently drive a 2014 audi q7, and I'm looking at the new q7 but cross shopping this vehicle. I owned a genesis g80 for like a week and broke down and got the q7, but oooo this interior really may send me over. Thanks for great review, much to think about.

is the GV80 in the same class as Hyundai Santa Fe or Palisade?? and between those two i would prefer the palisade because it all comes down to money, but for those people who spend $100k+ on a luxury SUV i would recommend them the GV80 with V6 turbo that has 1/4 of cost of a bentley and
I noticed the the Korean Palisade has 3 headlights vs 2 in America. As well as the Korean Palisade having the light for the DRL that is between the top drl and the headlights.
I. LOVE. THE. GV80. I love the direction Genesis is going. I've been a fan of Genesis from the beginning, when so many others doubted Hyundai's ability to take on Lexus, Infiniti, and even BMW, Merc, etc. They did well bringing on guys from VW, Audi, Lambo, and others. As for the Palisade, I like the side and rear profiles, but I'm not that big of a fan of the front end. I like big grills, but with a thinner border/outline, so to me the Palisade's grill has too thick of a border/outline. Also, as many people groan and complain about the weird headlights (not just on this, but many other vehicles like the Kona, Venu, Santa Fe), I'm a fan of innovative headlight designs. Some manufacturers keep the designs more moderate, and others try new designs to stand out. Some do it well, others don't lol, but overall I like the headlamps.
I'd also like to add that the day Genesis revealed the GV80, my jaw dropped at how gorgeous the design was. Then it dropped even further when I learned about the features. BRING ON THE LUXURY SUVS! I've followed the GV80 ever since the launch and I fall in love with it more and more each time I see it.The GV80 is sure to be the crown jewel of Korean SUVs and proving that korean vehicles shouldn't be downplayed as they were up until the 2010s.

I sincerely love what Hyundai group is doing market wise. I'm on my 3rd Hyundai, my newest it's a 2017 Santa Fe XL limited and I still love it! It has a great V6 engine and a lot of technology for the price. The only thing I don't like is the lack of comfort on longer rides and the fact that it doesn't provide lumbar support adjustment for the front passenger. After one hour trip everybody starts complaining. When Hyundai Palisade came out I was thinking on trade him buy unfortunately I realized that the Palisade still doesn't offer that, even on the Limited version, while many of their competitors have it. I waited for the release of the Genesis Gv80 and I see the same lack of attention for the front passenger. They offer lumbar support adjustment but no active massage like the competition. Mercedes GLE have it for example. I think Hyundai and Genesis are probably the most reliable cars in the market and they offer the most technology for the cheapest price but I can't understand why they are still forgetting the front passengers. Also the lack of Hybrid engines on both of them. Maybe I have to wait a couple more years for the GV90 😉

I own a Palisade Limited AWD fully loaded priced at 47k, I just can't see paying 70k for a loaded GV80. It looks fabulous but there isn't 23k difference.

Don’t say it before you sit on the sit. I tested G90 today $70k it feels so premium I was scarred to touching around the car. To me it feel better then S550 for its price.
Totally agree I just got my Palisade limint 3 days ago fully loaded for 47, sticker was 51k. My first Hyndai, I'd been a Toyota driver prior but I have to say the Korean car game is strong. I am absolutely loving driving this suv. The genesis is something I would have wanted to be flashy in my 20's, if I'd had that kind of money. One thing I do wish the Palisade had was that auto parking feature.

Great video! I’m dead set on the GV80 3.5 Prestige being my next SUV. It’ll be another 2 years from now but my mind is made up. For me, no other vehicle offers that level of luxury and tech for that price, and the best warranty to boot!

These are both excellent SUV's with a huge price difference between fully loaded models. Love the looks of the GV80. I don't like the look of the front end of the Palisade, but it was starting to grow on me, but when you see the Palisade next to the GV80 the front end of the GV80 looks much better.

The soft close doors, 12.3” 3-d view dash & electronic controlled sunshades are only available on the top trim on the 3.5. There’s no way to get them on the 2.5 or anything less than the top top trim in the USA.

If we had Genesis GV80 available in Belgium, I would go and buy it right ahead or even any other Genesis car. I think South Korea achieved a very high level of car manufacturing. Huyndai is already a very good car and is sometimes better than other European manufactureres. Overall new GV80 looks very impressive in all aspects! Good job Korea! I love the Palisade - it just needs to have it's front grill scaled down a bit - that large border of silver is just WAY too much.....I think the GV80 is a beautiful car - especially the interior.

The G80, G90, and GV80 are my new dream cars, and my new Euro luxury cars. All the Europe without the compromise. That 3.0 diesel is what I'll go after. Diesel Inline 6's are beautiful to drive and this is one of them. The 2.2 diesel is still a top performer as well. The Palisade is very good and a better option to many competitors in my honest opinion. Two top reviews and enjoyed them both. Keep smiling keep shining. Don't let the corona madness depress you.

I noticed the the Korean Palisade has 3 headlights vs 2 in America. As well as the Korean Palisade having the light for the DRL that is between the top drl and the headlights.
I. LOVE. THE. GV80. I love the direction Genesis is going. I've been a fan of Genesis from the beginning, when so many others doubted Hyundai's ability to take on Lexus, Infiniti, and even BMW, Merc, etc. They did well bringing on guys from VW, Audi, Lambo, and others. As for the Palisade, I like the side and rear profiles, but I'm not that big of a fan of the front end. I like big grills, but with a thinner border/outline, so to me the Palisade's grill has too thick of a border/outline. Also, as many people groan and complain about the weird headlights (not just on this, but many other vehicles like the Kona, Venu, Santa Fe), I'm a fan of innovative headlight designs. Some manufacturers keep the designs more moderate, and others try new designs to stand out. Some do it well, others don't lol, but overall I like the headlamps.
I'd also like to add that the day Genesis revealed the GV80, my jaw dropped at how gorgeous the design was. Then it dropped even further when I learned about the features. BRING ON THE LUXURY SUVS! I've followed the GV80 ever since the launch and I fall in love with it more and more each time I see it.The GV80 is sure to be the crown jewel of Korean SUVs and proving that korean vehicles shouldn't be downplayed as they were up until the 2010s.

I really like the GV80, it's a solid luxury/sporty SUV. And selecting the GV80 in the 5 seat configuration would definitely be the smart choice. But I'd take a Palisade in black for my money. Thanks for the great content.

I sincerely love what Hyundai group is doing market wise. I'm on my 3rd Hyundai, my newest it's a 2017 Santa Fe XL limited and I still love it! It has a great V6 engine and a lot of technology for the price. The only thing I don't like is the lack of comfort on longer rides and the fact that it doesn't provide lumbar support adjustment for the front passenger. After one hour trip everybody starts complaining. When Hyundai Palisade came out I was thinking on trade him buy unfortunately I realized that the Palisade still doesn't offer that, even on the Limited version, while many of their competitors have it. I waited for the release of the Genesis Gv80 and I see the same lack of attention for the front passenger. They offer lumbar support adjustment but no active massage like the competition. Mercedes GLE have it for example. I think Hyundai and Genesis are probably the most reliable cars in the market and they offer the most technology for the cheapest price but I can't understand why they are still forgetting the front passengers. Also the lack of Hybrid engines on both of them. Maybe I have to wait a couple more years for the GV90 😉
