    This is something I've needed to rant for a while. Waxer's death is so horrifyingly unjust. Dude is literally the sweetest, most empathetic clone. He and Boil saved Ryloth and they helped rescue Obi-Wan on Geonosis. Both are recognized heroes. But Krell just ignores all that just because he goes on a power trip to punish the 501st. But he doesn't even have jurisdiction over the 212th yet he drags them into his ego trip anyway and as a result, the kindest, most compassionate soldier in this war died in such a cruelly needless way. I will never get over how infuriating this whole arc was all thanks to the scumbag that was Krell.

      The scary part is that this kind of thing has happened in real life. These are what are referred to as "friendly-fire incidents". Usually, it starts off with either bad intel, or someone thinking a fellow soldier is an enemy. I remember reading about a horrific event where two American A-10 Thunderbolt IIs ended up attacking a British armored vehicle convoy, as they thought they were the enemy.
      Another horrific incident was where a group of AH-64 Apache attack helicopters attacked two American armored vehicles. A few soldiers attempted to escape, but were gunned down (they were thought to be Iraqi Soldiers, as I'm pretty sure this was in Desert Storm).
      This is the stuff of night terrors.

    This moment made me cry, Waxer was the first character that made me realize they were more then just clones, sure other clone characters had their fair share of humanity... but Waxer was the first to truly open my eyes that The Clones were truly living beings with compassion for those around them.
    I’m glad Krell was killed, because he killed dozens of clones with his intentionally flawed strategies and never once cared about how the health of his men. Even now when I rewatch the entire series on occasion this moment still hits me hard, because Waxer didn’t die fighting for the republic, he died having killed his brothers by the orders of a fallen Jedi.

    • @noctemluxarmiger
      @noctemluxarmiger ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only things they had in common was genetics, loyalty to the republic [for the most part], and how they all view each other as brothers. The similarities end there. That makes them each their own person. Just because you are a clone of someone doesn't mean you can be the person your were cloned from. Everyone has different experiences, different cadences in their voices, different voices [Delta Squad], different personalities and preferences and that distinguishes them from one another. Like how you will always be able to tell say Fives apart from Wolffe. They have such differing experiences and personalities that you could never get them mistaken with one another if you met them. They also have differing energy levels as well. Even though they were clones and thry shared the same genetics they were each unique in their own ways. Which is what I loved the most about TCW and how they flushed out even some of the lesser known clones. You could never get Commander Neyo mixed up with say Rex. Because each clone was so vastly different it really made you understand they were men at thr end of the day. Not droids. Men. Who could think, love, feel, and die. They could never be replaced that's why the clone was is my favorite. Every clone holds a special place in my heart especially Waxer, Jesse and Fives

    Such a sad moment in the Clone Wars, a squad from the 212th battalion lead by Waxer, and Rex's 501st squad, sent out to kill one another without knowing they were sent to fight their brothers. Waxer and Boil were 2 of Commander Cody's best men in the 212th, and we had previous experience with both of them before, with Numa, the girl Waxer had painted on his helmet ever since. Rex and his men, along with the others of the 212th would have to live with what they were forced to do, killing their brothers in a battle they were convinced was with the enemy. Krell's death was satisfying, but not satisfying enough.

    This scene, and the one proceeding it, broke my damn heart. Its the moment i really internalized how unfair the Clones existence was. Because for all their nobility and loyalty, for all that they were true soldiers who gave everything for the cause, for all they were told from the moment they were born that they were to be the sword and shield to save the republic, the Clones were seen by so many as little more than droids. And the worst part? All their sacrifices and suffering was done in the name of a lie. In the name of one madmans bid for power. They were born, used, sacrificed, forced to betray the only ones who really saw them as poeple and then tossed aside by the new regime once their purpose was fulfilled.
    There is no happy ending for them. They deserved more. And my heart aches to think about it.
