I think for a moment, Krell actually felt a pull to the Light with Rex’s small outburst, but he quickly fell back to the Dark Side and went through with his plans regardless.
I feel like it was more him realizing that if he antagonized Rex any further, then he might lose what little trust the clones had in him, because while he was the general, it was really Rex that was in charge because he was who the clones would follow in the end. He was just biding his time.

I love the bond Rex and Fives had! Fives had a good heart and loved his brothers and was not afraid to stand up to individuals like Krell. It’s sad what happened to him later.
Fives was not Rex's deputy, at the time of Umbara Fives was probably a sergeant, Rex's deputy could have been a clone with the rank of Lieutenant, such as Jesse from season 7.
Before I realized what was going on with Krell I believed Krell was just a questionable general with odd tactics that occasionally work and the clones just don’t understand. And that he was just harsh on those he works with because this scene seemed like he was starting to respect the clones after calling Rex the name he gave himself and not his Clone ID-number. Then I realized what’s the matter with Krell and threw all my assumptions out of the window.
I just love how Rex removes his helmet as he said ‘Not clones! Men!’ And honestly I’d view the clones as men as well and do everything in my power to protect them
The plan was a good one. In conditions where the enemy is literally hiding in every patch of fog, send a small detachment of clones forward as the vanguard and prevent the ambush of the main forces. I can only assume that due to the actions of the rex, the vanguard retreated and the main forces could not fight, which is why the offensive failed.

I actually liked Krell's character. It showed that not all Jedi were compassionate and honorable. He was an evil person who just happened to be on the same team as our heroes, untill he wasn't
Krell reminds me of the old manager I used to have at work, unfortunately all my co workers all left and I'm still here. My boss just gives me a pad on the back and says good job for not letting him get the best of me. Thing is he did and I'm stuck here traumatized and broken by the abuse towards me and my old co workers. My boss truly doesn't know how much we suffered cause of the manager he hired and didn't listen when we told him he's taken advantage of us.
I know how you feel, at my first job I had to deal with my own Pong Krell, everyone hated him so much that I feared that something similar to Umbara would happen.

I feel it’s our responsibility to ourselves to not let anyone in position of power traumatize us. Stand up for yourself in a respectful manner. My boss was an older lady who proceeded to scream at me for 1 1/2 hours after my shift already ended, accusing me of stealing. I stood my ground, pushed back, never lost my cool. She tried that bullshit two more times and after I reported it to her higher up, she went into remission. I might still quit because the whole fiasco just left a bad taste in my mouth. But the job is easy money right now.

I just realized that @0:16 and onward as Fives is arguing with Krell, you can see a lone Clone Trooper in the background behind Fives and if you pay attention to that Trooper, the way the Trooper's head is animated looks a bit silly and off lol
People say hes so badass for duel wielding double bladed lightsabers. But what those actually are is double bladed lightsaber CLUBS. Theyre much larger, wider and longer than regular lightsabers. Hes just as physically imposing as darth vader. One of the best villians in star wars imo
He treated the Jedi and his students according to the charter. And he simply hated clones because he considered them to be creatures without their own opinion and will, who only had to follow orders, because they were grown for this and programmed like droids.
Krell was a cool villain, but it would’ve been better if he wasn’t revealed to be evil, just a bit of a hardass that had a different way of doing things, and came around at the end or something.

To be honest when it comes to being a soldier in combat I think rex, fives and other clones like them are the closest to being like Jango Fett was
