Not too many artists can say that they had half of the Beatles in their video. The drummer in the video is Ringo Starr and George Harrison is singing back up vocals alongside Jeff Lynn from ELO ( and the Travelling Wilburys).
After all of Petty's success he started a band called The Traveling Wilburys they were a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison - Beatles, Jeff Lynne - from ELO, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. You will enjoy their music. Check them out. Great reaction.

You mentioned this song would be good for sports, he was from Gainesville, Florida, since his death, the Florida Gator fans sing this after the 3rd quarter of every home football games, there are videos of it on TH-cam. They were: Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, George Harrison (from the Beatles), Jeff Lynn ( from ELO), Roy Orbison and Jim Keltner is not as well known, but is a powerhouse to many in the rock community as well as those who love drummers. He was from Gainesville Florida, the Gators always played this song at football games. There are videos of the crowd singing it the weekend after he passed away, when they were playing Bama.. it gives you chills. Check out “ the swamp sings won’t back down”. It’s AMAZING

I've watched many reactions on this channel, and I've come to the conclusion that this girl should become a professional poker player. The Tom Petty rabbit hole is quite large. There are so many songs I hate to pick out any one or two. They are all great. He was having a legal fight with a record company when he wrote this one. He died of a heart attack four years ago at 68. It was so sad and he is really MISSED!

Very special memories of this song from the year 2000 while covering one of the best high school girls hoops teams in Vermont. This was the first song they listened to before every practice. Their coach loved the song and it really defined what the program was about. Also, you should react to You Got Lucky, which is my favorite TPH song, and it was the first video I ever saw on MTV back in '83.

Tom petty songs in late 70s and early 80s are bangers no dought
He died while touring with a broken hip. He should have postponed his tour but didn't want to disappoint his fans who bought tickets expecting to see him. The physical strain of being on the road with that kind of injury and taking the pain meds that allowed him to do so literally killed him. You're not going to find very many performers with that kind of dedication.
Oh, and he's darned good musician who put out a lot of good songs.
Tom Petty is that guy. Very talented, laid back, humble and all his contemporaries want to get together and jam at Tom’s house. Ringo Starr and George Harrison? Yeah, a couple Beatles are coming over today to play music. Any idea how crazy that is? Play some tunes, get a little high and boom 💥 Incredible music as well as his time recording with the Traveling Willburys and the Wildflowers. He did a lot of duets and collaborations with other artists. Everyone wanted to play with Tom Petty. What’s does that tell you about the man? He was no angel, he was severely addicted to coke and heroin in the 90s after a bad divorce. Read a recent article…. He passed away while on tour. Very sick. Emphysema, coronary artery disease, a broken hip and deteriorating knee. He refused to postpone the tour to take care of his health. So they pumped him up with fentanyl, oxycodone and other highly dangerous drugs. He was found unconscious at home, put on life support but no brain activity. Cause of death was accidental overdose. RIP, Tom. Thanks for the tunes. Your concerts were just one big singalong. ❤️❤️❤️
