It seems as though they just got together a ton of people who had no idea what they were doing and said "if you hit these people you get points". When it comes to HEMA fencing, it's pretty cool and fun to watch, there seems to be thought put in to every attack and the fighters actually have a sense of urgency. But the full contact sword fighting, even if you applied some sort of HEMA tactics to it, just seems to be about just hitting eachother. No tactics, no sense of urgency, and since obviously you can't kill eachother, no sense of defense. Perhaps were talking about to different things, or maybe I just don't know enough about it, but that's just my opinions of it based off of what I know of full contact sword fighting.

Because LARP does not allow people to actually get hurt. Its called Live Action Role Play and if ppl actually get hurt that is a bad thing. Its like acting except without the special effects.

Having been in this battle (I'm the one in the helmet) and watching it now, it *does* seem a little lame.. however we didn't have any 'toe-to-toe' fighters to really mix it up. 2 healers for crowd control and 2 'keep away and try to skirmish from behind' against a single foe apparently doesn't make for a good video :( *I* like watching it, but that's mainly because I'm in it :D

This is a fine example of a beautifully crafted live action role play scenario, the costumes, fight acting and skill sets are truly marvellous. The power shall be within you my fellow larpers, let us come together in unison and destroy thy evil within!
