      Their set of armour is actually came from early 14th century

    • @andrewcouch6471
      @andrewcouch6471 4 ปีที่แล้ว +333

      1060 AD was an age of maille armour. What it shown here is circa 1380-1410, also called the transition period from mostly maille and scattered plates to becoming full suits of pure plate (with maille under the armpit and around the groin)

    • @fathanalazka5386
      @fathanalazka5386 4 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      That set of armor i think came out at 14-15th century

    • @andrewcouch6471
      @andrewcouch6471 4 ปีที่แล้ว +99

      If we're both talking about the man with red padding under his armour, the brig looks to be transitional from Visby, making it a 1361 piece with a 1410 klapvisor bascinet, hourglass gauntlets are pretty common for a large part of the 15th Century (1401-1499 AD) so it's hard to place them exactly, legs have brig cuisses and plate greaves, so it's roughly 1370 AD+, and the arms are full plate so 1400 AD abouts? So he wears a pretty wide range of years for armour, but not something too outlandish in terms of a poor mercenary.
      The guy with white padding looks like his armour is much closer in years, maybe 1390-1410? I'm not familiar with what region his shoulder plates originate from, and I think that might be a Rus helm he is wearing? His brig is much better shaped which is why I think his is a much newer iteration of brig made within those years.

I saw one fight were a man had his wrist sliced into because the opponent's axe got passed his gauntlet, cut through his gambeson (thick woolen padding), and sliced clean into his wrist. The absolute unit had it looked at by the medics, and went on to win the fight!

      I'm not delusional, but I feel like the creation of firearms made the act of killing too easy. No, I'm not saying that modern combat is a breeze, but the amount of time it took to arm, and train fighting men like this limits the loss of life. Also, it's one thing to kill someone from yards away and something else entirely to do it up close and personal.

    It’s just incredible how much punishment plate armour can withstand. In movies the protagonist swings a sword and an armoured knight goes down. In reality and armoured knight was a fucking tank walking.
    People in Zombie Apocalypse setups in media always want guns. I‘d much prefer a suit of full plate

      Silver and black clearly had more skill and experience, he constantly was catching blows using the handle of his axe and counterattacking.
