    Cash flow is the net amount of cash that is flowing. All your income added together minus expenses. You must have a positive cash flow for the long term or else you would drain your entire savings pretty quickly.
    Do you know your monthly expenses? I recommend to keep track of it and more importantly the core recurring expenses. That's because recurring expenses is used up automatically no matter what you do. Other expenses requires you to conciously spend and thus you can adjust these from day to day.

    I went to Panda Express yesterday and the fortune cookie said "You will get great advice from an old mentor" and your video pops up. Have been watching you for over 8 years and never took any advice. I think it's a good time to start. 😂

    I've been a subscriber of yours for so many years now... good to see you back at it! I read rich dad poor dad way back in the year 2000 and it changed my life. People should read the other books as they are or were equally as good. Cash flow quadrant, guide to investing and Retire young Retire rich

    Thanks for the update! I remember a previous video you did a number of years ago on your budget... I still reference that occasionally when people ask how its possible to spend so little. If you can do this in SF its definitely possible to be at least this frugal if not more in the midwest. ;)

    Quality content. Thank you.
    I started out with a negative in my bank account.
    Had a good look at my income and expenditures on the same spreadsheet you showed us.
    Took me 8 years and I'm happy to share that the efforts to tweak various spending habits in my life had paid off.
    My wife and I paid cash upfront for our house renovation and we have enough to pay fully for our mortgage if we so choose to do so.
    Thank you for your wisdom.

      Without massive changes in income, one can go from paycheck to paycheck to rapidly growing their nest egg with a positive cash flow. Just cash flow very positive and you're all set.

    The 200k going down 1k a month wasn’t a great example. That would give you over 16 years to figure something out 😂

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True. But you get the idea. If you draw down 200k to 150k in a few years, you would eventually have a drop dead date while in your 30s. Pretty nerve wracking if you ask me.

      That's one thing that may actually be worth it to the vast majority, but maybe not if you're a single individual who maybe won't buy enough bulk items in a year to justify the offset cost. Now if you ate your lunch there everyday of the year and got their $1.50 hotdog or pizza haha that's a goldmine.

    Curious which refrigerator you went with for $1,700. Seems a lot of the major brands have a bad recent reputation (not as good as they use to be made etc).

    I think the spending thing has to be learned really young, and you ideally want that to take as little time as possible to automate. You are right if you spend your whole life penny pinching you will just waste time, which is why you have to figure it out as quick as possible so that it almost becomes automatic and you can make quick decisions.
    Cleaning, organization, savings, etc these are all things we have to do, but you don't really want to spend your whole life focused on them. The sooner you figure all that out the sooner you can get onto the more important things.
    I don't make money taking a shower, but it's still something I have to do. It's all foundational work that we have to do just to stay alive.
    Build a strong foundation as quick as possible so you can devote more time to doing the things you want to do, if you don't build a good foundation though you will struggle to maintain a fast paced lifestyle because your weak foundation will begin to crack and it will cascade all through the other things in your life.

      The base burn rate is really not for enjoying, it's just there and burning. Any kind of enjoyment really comes from extra spending like restaurants, vacations, gadgets I buy, etc.

    How is possible to live in the Bay Area and only pay $450 a month for property tax and HOA? 😮 My HOA is that much by itself.

    • @Mobliz
      @Mobliz หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      $450 a month for HOA is wild!!! What do they do to justify that cost... drive around in golf carts and sprinkle gold dust all over the neighborhood? At that price I would just sell and move to a neighborhood without HOA. Easy $5400 a year in the bank nearly funds a roth IRA by itself.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First, when you buy, look for places with low or no HOA. Once you are locked in, it's a significant drain on cash flow.

    Building Wealth is a mindset. You can't teach someone to be financially responsible. Often times people always complain they don't make enough money, but they always fail to look at their spending.
    People ask how I am making all these Passive incomes like I just went outside and pick up money from the tree. I started investing years ago with 100$ and 1 account. Now I have multiple investment accounts, along with my Roth IRA and 401k.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  หลายเดือนก่อน
