  • Looking back, it's not just one stock purchase that allowed me to become financially independent but a series of financial moves all throughout my life. Many small wins resulted in constant accumulation of wealth. This wealth then turns into time freedom and financial independence.

No one seems to acknowledge the simple fact that he actually WORKED 3-4 YEARS straight without indulging on some instant gratification purchases. The bread and butter of anyone who holds a sustainable financial background is that they worked a regular 9-5 job for a long duration at some point in their life. Holy hell, it's not that complicated once you get your foot in the door of whatever industry your college major is in.

Back in 88 or 89 I had a car that started running real bad but lucky me I was real near a large retail store that had a big auto service department so I drove in and told them what had happen they looked at the car and told me that unfortunately it was serious and it would be $800.00 and I told him I didn't have $800.00 but he said he could get me a store card so I could charge it and I told him I would have to get back to him and he was good enough to warn me not to drive it to far otherwise I would have serious damage to the engine. On the way home I stopped by a guy I knew that had a garage that worked on cars, trucks and farm equipment. I told him the whole story and he said he would look at it and a few minutes later he came back and said it's fixed it was just a nut had came off there was no charge. He also told me he use to work at that place and the mechanics got extra money for doing this. The sad part is this store I took it to use to be for many years the largest department store in the country. I don't believe it's around anymore.

That was very cool BtB! I try to emulate your financial life in my own, I haven't done so well for myself but I always learn from your videos. One thing I'm curious: how long did it took you as an engineer / YTber to pay off the balance on your home? And a video suggestion: your 10 top WORST financial moves. Keep up the great content, cheers!

Ha, I haven't seen VitaSoy since I was a kid! Good stuff, but super sweet! And, I very much identify as the same kind of personality. I will delay purchases until I find something I genuinely want sometimes for years on end until I find exactly what I want. Ultimately, I have fewer clutter items and many more treasured ones.

I actually watched the entire video. Had to 2x the speed. Surprised there was no mention of you buying the house :P That, to me, had to be in the top 10. You bought at a great price and at presumably at great rates as well.

He never mentioned he used his car for something like Door dash, UberEATS, selling for eBay or Amazon. So I guess he must have used it for his TH-cam channel Tesla review and did it that way.
