- My first impression of Florianopolis! (Or Floripa as it's commonly referred to by locals)
This Brazilian city is underrated, and is often overlooked by international travelers, although very popular amongst the South Americans.

@@RogerHistoric Eu concordo contigo. Melhor lugar no Brasil mesmo.
😮😮😮😮
Legal
I was born and raised in Floripa. I’ve been living in California for 8 years now and it’s been 7 years since my last time in Brazil. Super cool to see visitors like you checking out the island. I hope you had an awesome time there. Nice video, dude… plenty of good memories came back to me while watching you walking around this area. Peace!
Yes I enjoyed it very much to the point where I would consider moving there. Thanks for watching and for the support. 💪
So interested now that u are finally in Euro Brazil to hear your thoughts :)
😊❤

Lindo luga
oh yes
muito legal
Obrigado amiga. 👍
Cidade linda ótima gastronomia passeios e muita cultura lugar marcante
Really excited for the direction of the channel in Florianopolis and Curitiba. Looking forward to your videos here. I told you that you would like the vibe more. :)
32:38 I’m guessing it’s an Invitation to one of the brothels in Centro. 😂😂😂
🤣
Nick seems to really like the city, but you said you prefer other places. I’m curious to know why. No offense, just wondering. I’m planning on visiting in October, and I respect your opinions.
@@keno1069 I like the city and I could live here but I will talk about my observations about Floripa in a new video and all the reasons why. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!

Muit bom
27:14 this is now a pedestrian street with painted floor, looks way nicer now
I am bored with beaches coming from chicago I think I would be possibly bored? This is a great video. I love interactions with the people. This looks like Europe or North America. I love the people the beautiful language and I like your chiados you speak in your accent. Lol.
I don't think you will be bored with the beaches here as there are 40 + beaches and all are beautiful. Thanks for the support man. 👍😎
Lindo demais
Wow I see that there is no place like RIO🇧🇷❤ I would fall asleep there😴💤
Yeah it is a much quieter city than Rio.
Tamo juntos 👍
Man, Floripa looks amazing!
It is a very livable city. Safe, clean and has everything you want in a tropical country. One of the most organized cities that I've seen down here in Brazil.
You need visit Ilha do Campeche i Florianópolis.
This was one of the places I wanted to go to but was unable to go. I will go next time I am in Santa Catarina. 😄👍
Lugar lindo
Cidade linda para apreciar uma ótima gastronomia.
Cidade top na minha opinião.
19:28
I know the old man with a cap talking to himself. He's always around this same area talking to himself, been like that for like 15 years or more.
Really? Interesting. It is sad to see those things.
Totally different vibe indeed!
Cidade linda
i see lots of your carioca slang in this one bro lol. Man that was awesome walkthrough of the Floripa stores. It reminds me of when I walked the streets of Porto Portugal. The architecture, the people, the whole vibes reminds me of Porto definitely. Its funny that youre at a building named Canada lol. I'm definitely excited for your upcoming travel vlogs throughout Southern Brazil!
Great video Nick! Really makes me want to go there.
Thanks! It definitely is a must visit.
27:28 dude we appreciate your camera work😂
It was accidentally on purpose 😎
I recommend visiting the cities of Itapema, Bombinhas and Camboriú, they are beautiful and very close to Florianópolis.
Thank you for the suggestions. I visited Balneario Camboriu and will post videos up soon. It was a fun city.
❤❤❤
Enjoying the Videos. Thank You Nick
Very grateful! Thank you! 🙏
@@nicktalksbrazil Thanks Nick great livestream also earlier
@@Black-Circle Thank you. Appreciate it.
Lindo lugar😊
Santa Catarina .... the land of beautiful Europeans
Hahah yeah but I saw a decent amount of mixed crowd too. Sure not as much as Rio or Sao Paulo but they got it.
@@nicktalksbrazil unfortunataly those few mixed crowd are from the northen states who migrate to santa catarina i wish they build a wall to prevent them from ruining the city look at videos from 2010 and you will see the difference eveything started in 2010 and onwards
@@mp42895 the south is my country and I'd also wish that they build a wall too
Você é incrível bem comunicativo e extrovertido! Isto é lega identifica bem com brasileiros.... A região Sul e bem diferente! E segura com uma cultura diferenciada com ascendência de vários europeus , a segurança e única! ...curtem aproveitar sua viagem ok
Muito obrigado! 👍
Muito bom viajar
Muito bom mesmo.
vontade de visitar esse lugar
Vale muito a pena visitar.
Lindo nota 10 ❤
I'm a Brazilian from the state of SP and had plans to move to the US. Currently I'm not so sure anymore, and I live in Santa Catarina, came here for work. While traveling here, I'd recommend you to definitely go to Urubici, besides all the beaches in Floripa. Maybe Serra do Rio do Rastro, too. Have a great trip!
Thank you for the suggestion but I have already left there and am now in Curitiba. I don't see myself moving back to Canada ever again. I think Santa Catarina is the best state in Brazil to live in so far especially to raise a family.
@@nicktalksbrazil It's funny, I have a friend that is going to Canada with his wife and daughter, he thinks of their future and considers it the best move specially for the little one. He is an engineer here in Brazil and is doing fine, he plans to move in the beginning of next year.
@@FTSsjc To each their own. I will not live in a super cold weather country again amongst other issues I have with Canada that touches on politics and the direction in which the country is headed. But good luck with them, So long as they have a lot of money or make a lot of money there, they will fit in nicely. You need to be wealthy now to make it in Canada.
@@FTSsjc I wouldn't to be honest. It's moving towards a pretty communist way of life there. There is a reason there are so many Canadians leaving.
So what was on the paper? Are you going to Jureré? I hear that’s the best part of the island. Also, are you going to the surfing competition?
Naked women lol advertising for a brothel. Not sure if I will go to Jurere. We'll see. I will see if they have a surf competition in the next two days because I travel out of Floripa on Wednesday.
Thanks for the information. Safe travels!
@@keno1069 Thank you very much! 👍
Great info Bro💯
Appreciate it
Yet, Rio is a 6 milion people city, while Florianópolis is a 500.000 one; also, Rio is sorounded by more than 100 slums (favelas), while, Floriaópolis, being an island, has none. So, one should take care of how to analyse completly diferent environmet cities. Just for the records.
I agree, They are two entirely different cities. My objective is just to show what each city I visit has to offer.
Amei o video
Obrigado! 😃👍
Just let people walk into you hehee
Ya I should have lol
20:32 at least this time you weren’t on a bicycle 😉
No doubt LoL
Wow. Nice portuguese. (speaking and understanding)
Excellent video, and what a coincidence, I live in Marica too, Marica downtown region.
Have no idea why youtube recommend your video to me but I am enjoying it. Anyway, stay safe.
Edit:
About the Carioca Girls compare to Southner girls, theres a huge difference, the southner are way more good looking cause of the european imigration, but the hot ones it's on Rio, Belo Horizonte and north east and north of Brazil, very "open minded" too, if you got what I mean. In the south you'll find tons of beautiful girls, but they are more conservatives and they do like rich guys, I mean, almost only rich guys with expensive cars.
Thanks for watching the video and commenting. Yeah I noticed the big difference in people from Rio as oppose to the south. I enjoyed my time in southern Brazil and found the people to be friendly even though they are a bit more closed than people from Rio and other parts of Brazil that I have visited.
Rio is hookup culture. South Brazil is slower, people take longer to open up and to date.
you need a social circle and to get in one fast or you will get nowhere with the miami style cold approach day game crap. Women aren't wasy here like those passport bro's lie about
@@Black-Circle Very true.
Good place to find a wife? Not looking for hookups but a traditional respectful feminine woman
@@tubbyrainbow111 I would say anywhere in Brazil is a good place to meet a woman for a long term relationship. I don't know much about the dating scene in Floripa though.
@@nicktalksbrazil cool, thanks for the advice brother
16:52 Não é incomum encontrar libaneses no Brasil, tem uma comunidade de mais de 3 milhões entre libaneses e descendentes no Brasil. Mais fácil encontrar em São Paulo por ser mais populosa, mas também encontra em outras cidades.
Interessante. Eu não sabia disso. Obrigado! 👍
Ok
The reason why floripa and rio are somewhat similar is due to the fact both cities were settled mostly by the Portuguese, even their accents are similar
I noticed that but I really did prefer Floripa than Rio when it came to safety, cleanliness and less sketchy people.
@@nicktalksbrazil likewise. Even though I’m from Rio, I have to admit this is a failed state unfortunately
@@danielimmortuos666 Sadly Rio is only getting worse and I can say that because I notice it over the many years of coming here. Half the state is on Bolsa familia, which says all you need to know.
Your Portuguese is good
Thank you! 🙏
How much did the flight from Rio to Floripa cost? Are there any airline sites you should look at when you're in Brazil for the best prices?
I think I paid like 250 reais or 65.00 CAD return which is not bad but everything has since gone up. I booked with GOL but they could all have similar prices really.
Paraíso 😅😅😅😅
there are actually 42 beaches
Yes you are right
Dude! those sunglasses my gosh!
I know you can do better than that 😂
Better than what?
She did not understand what u asked her
Your right, she did not lol
@@nicktalksbrazil what's funny is that ur Portuguese is really good, the reason why she did not understand however is because u have a European accent and Brazilians seemingly are a bit slow when it comes to that accent
Yeah I should have spoke a little slower. Usually I try to change my accent so that Brazilians can understand me better especially in places where they would likely never have heard the European accent.
