One of the best reviews of the Tenacious I've seen. I've had mine about 5 years and still love it for the reasons you stated so well. Sweet spot, indeed!
It’s still a great knife and value even today. I have the s35 version and the basic version in your video. I still carry it even owning many more high end spydercos and benchmades.
It’s the best 8 cr steel balde I’ve ever tried to be honest . It’s not like the other 8 cr blades imo . I haven’t heard too many folks say the steel is decent . They say “ oh, it’s 8cr so crap steel “ to me , it’s not and has done just fine by me .
I agree, that may just be my bias because I happen to not have many issues with softer steels since I strop, but I've been pretty impressed with Spyderco's rendition of it.
Interesting how people criticize Spyderco's 8cr13mov heavily (China baaaad), but have no problem with AUS-8 on a Ontario RAT knife, when it's basically the same thing ! Spyderco's heat treatment on this particular steel is very good...
Spyderco is about to price themselves right out of the market. They slowly increasing everything and are drastically changing the opfocus program too pretty much making it not worth it.

When the m4 version comes available , I’m all in .
Nice review, I’ve got about 10 much nicer Spydercos but might go back and grab one of these as a beater if I find a good deal

I’m not a fan of ball bearing pivots. Yes. They’re smoother. Yes. They’re faster.
But I’m not happy with how vulnerable they are to grit.
