Ren's Semblance is Perfect Objectivity. It's something that's verymuch associated with the lotus (of enlightenment) that he takes as his personal emblem. When he uses his semblance he can create a state of emotionless calm in himself or in others. Because "you" bleed into your semblance, and your semblance bleeds into you, this *also* means Ren can have a hard time expressing himself because he's almost incapable of *feeling* strongly - remember a semblance is verymuch based off of an aspect of yourself. The state of being perfectly objective is being without emotion. With no emotion, Ren is essentially completely invisible to the Grimm. They can "see" him much like they could see a windmill, or a piece of working machinery, but they cannot recognize him as being a "living" being. This semblance is *AMAZING* for a huntsman who will regularly deal with the grimm, but of somewhat limited versatility elsewhere.

Guys the currency in RWBY is called Lien. They resemble credit cards but each Lien has a set amount of money in it, kinda like a gift card. Not to say there aren't credit cards; there are as we saw Weiss use one before it was declined back in Vol.3. What Oscar was getting was a ticket for the train. He was using a Lien card to purchase said ticket but it didn't have enough funds in the card to validate the purchase, hence why Hazel (big bearded guy) punched the machine to give Oscar a free ticket.

also another thing to consider is that, you can understand why we are just learning about Ren's semblance now. It's very nature is only useful when stealthy avoiding Grimm, which hasn't been that common of an occurrence until now, when their no longer in school.

Imagine how easy it was for it to slice and pulverize through people without aura, gutting them like pigs and slicing through flesh like warm cheese. When you realize that, the comparison with this Grimm veers more into Eldritch Abomination, and the "stretch arm" joke dies.
I disagree. It just looked goofy, and any of the stuff you said isn't really in the tone of the show, so it doesn't come to mind. Pretty much all of the hunters/huntresses can bury their weapons into hard concrete; Yang vs the Paladin comes to mind, but you don't think about them as eldritch horrors because the show doesn't present them as such. If you want to make something look cool and menacing, firstly you give it a design that fits the bill, rather than a lanky chimera like the Nuckelavee. Secondly you give it some on screen menace. Arguably they did this with the Kuroyuri flashback, but all that stuff was off screen, and then when they actually fight it, rather than doing any powerful choreography, it just does goofy spin to win moves that look stupid because animals with bones aren't supposed to move like that. If they wanted it to move like that, they shouldn't have taken design elements from creatures that can't move like that, because people will obviously make associations.
