You REALLY need to watch the live version of Jeff singing “see the light” and keep in mind that Jeff was completely blind since about 3 years old. One of the most talented & incredible humans to have ever lived.

"You don't play bad for a blind white boy."
"Yeah, and I thought you'd be bigger."
If you've ever seen Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze, Jeff and his band are in the movie as the house band in the bar.
Jeff Healey was an amazing guitarist and a phenomenal singer. RIP Jeff!

Jeff was amazing. I first saw him on the movie Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. He basically played himself as a blind musician playing and singing in a band. Found out he really was blind. He had a form of eye cancer and had to have both eyes removed as a one year old. He had an impressive career but unfortunately died of cancer in I believe his early forties. If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me. His live performance of his song “See the Light “ is fantastic ❤

    A Canadian.
    He played more than guitar.
He was a true genius and guitar virtuoso and widely regarded as one of the world's all time great guitarists and he had a great voice as well.
He was close to the age where he passed away in this performance.

This song means so much for me, covering all the emotions. This is not the strongest / best version of this song (IMHO), but this song still resonates. I met and fell in love with a wonderful and lovely women who was 15 years my junior. I was 49, she was 34. All of the lines in this song represented me - I couldn't dance or sing (my wife did both brilliantly). We would walk hand in hand and the looks we got from the men always seemed to be saying "How did you get her?". LOL. At this time time this song was me. Then when I turned 60 my lovely wife announced she was not happy or in love with me anymore. Many issues on both side, but I was still rocked by this news because I NEVER saw it coming. Now the song reminds of what I lost and it breaks my heart over and over again. Such is life!

There's no point even thinking of looking elsewhere as l still love him to bits..as you say..such is life..we had a damn good time while it lasted and l think to a certain extent proved the doubters wrong..🇬🇧💕🙏✝️👍❤️

A good woman is worth anything. So much great music has the anguish of lost love in it - that kind of love changes the world! One of my favorite songs. Tons of soul in his voice. He stole the show in the original "Road House" with Patrick Swayze. It's funny how he sings so much about what things look like, though, given that he's blind. Sadly, his voice lost some dynamics over the years - earlier performances have some extra angst in it - but he's still a great performer.

My father met Jeff back in the day shortly after Roadhouse came out with Swayze & even got his autograph. He gave it to me but my dumbass lost it while moving to a new city.
