    Pro tip: wash and drain your rice before cooking. Makes it fluffier, and doesn't stick to itself lending to better texture.
    PS thanks for the video, I'm just starting to work out and this was a big help

    • @PierSilver
      @PierSilver 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Washing the rice would make it 'different', not "better". E.g. if you want to do a proper risotto you should not wash it (you want to be able to regulate the diffusion of the starch via the cooking process, not wash it away beforehand)
      Source: I'm Italian, I was born in risotto, moulded by it XD

    • @michaelhartmayer1894
      @michaelhartmayer1894 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agree. I really like a starchier rice myself. Not a big fan of "fluffy". Just preference, I suppose.

      Can you cover the difference's between eating fully clean no salt, no sugar diets? Obviously EVERYTHING has these, but for people with high cholesterol and are a few pounds overweight who like to lift and workout. I haven't seen ANYONE make a video on this, might get you doing some research too. I would like someone to make a Health awareness video for those people because there is a lot of them out there, me used to being one. Subbed for a good host, you don't leave your commenters hanging!
      EDIT: I LOVE the picture, I am one who has a love/hate with my country right now, but I LOVE my brothers showing their pride for their country.

    I know this vid is intended for college students with minimal time and on a budget, but you should really consider investing in a few spices. If you check out those spice shakers you got, the first listed ingredient is salt. That means those spice shakers are more salt than literally anything else in them.
    If you're going the easy, cheap route, I guess they're fine, but if you're trying to regulate your intake of various things, salt is a great place to start cutting back.

    Hey at 3:57 , I saw that your pot was really scratched at the bottom. Just so you know, that scraped coating is toxic if you injest enough of it, so I would advise getting a new pot and using a wooden spatula, because I'm guessing that it got scratched from you using a metal spoon.

    Good video, but honestly I'd reccomend cooking the chicken and potatoes in the oven with some olive oil. (If it fits your budget/macros) it's great for flavor and saving time/space/dishes in the kitchen. It'll make that chicken less bland and dry.
