Hope your good man!! You mentioned a while back about mental struggles so thought I would just check in as a random stranger that cares and ser your doing ok. Love the channel, keep up the good work and take care of/love yourself yourself mate!!
tip for spices in the rice....smaller spices that are hard to find and fish out, like cardamon, cloves, fenugreek etc.... those small stainless mesh balls that you can pick up in any supermarket for infusing tea are awesome. put the smaller spices in that, and pop that in your rice. Then you can get them all out easily once cooked. nothing worse that eating nicely infuse rice and then accidently biting down on a clove lol.😝
I've just got to say, your recipes and thoughoutly explained instructions have seriously helped me with my meal prepping, I'm able to easily follow these instructions and often deviate and add my own little twists, spins or add a few extra different ingredients. These have seriously helped me with my bulking and daily food intake needs! Thank you so much Mr Chef Jack Ovens!
Another great recipe Jack! As a suggestion to others seeing this, you can also add cashew nuts while making the sauce. It gives the sauce a richer taste!
These are perfect! My husband just started going back to the gym and needs high protein meals. I’m so happy you’ve made the video so short and the recipe so easy. The result is 👌🏽🙌🏽 Likes and subscribers well-deserved
Oh, man. I messed up this dish a couple different ways (homemade ghee not dark, used nonfat yogurt, didn't blend nearly smooth enough) -- and it still came out unbelievably delicious, even with the low-fat presentation. Bravo, jack!
that looks absolutely phenomenal. Definitely going to introduce this to my my meal preps for the week. Keep up the good work mate, been here from the start!
Great looking recipe! Without sounding too presumptuous, I'd cook the chicken in batches to get a nice sear or lay them flat on a sheet tray and broil. They'll finish cooking in the sauce.
One thing I did which upped the protein content was adding split red lentils. I eyeballed it to where it looked like the sauce was full of red lentils, and when blended it's virtually identical. I think more liquid is needed but the flavor is unchanged It really helps if you're like me and can eat a surprising volume of butter chicken, it becomes significantly more filling Though I don't exactly know if it can be called authentic like that
Thighs are 100x better, but I can't get them skin & boneless at my stores or butcher shops for some reason. And butchering 12-14 thighs for one meal prep round takes so much time
@@whoru2376 if you throw away the skin from the thighs it'll nearly half the calories! Boneless skinless thighs are neeeeeeeearly the same calories as chicken breast and they're way harder to overcook and dry out. Definitely taste better when reheated too!
My recipe turned out exactly like the picture. Tastes great too. Thanks, Chef. (Though my wife was a bit upset that I did my meal prep in the middle of the night while everyone was asleep)
Was able to make this as a fully dairy free version using plant based heavy cream, adding some ACV to the marinade portion to make it more of a tangy yogurt, and using nutiva butter oil in place of the ghee. It tastes fantastic and is now one of my favorite dishes to make every couple weeks.
May i ask why u used greek yoghurt instead of heavy cream? Is the reason for this to make the recipe healthier? Btw i loveee ur videos it helps me so much with meal prepping and learning to cook😂
The reason being is the recipes optimised for meal prep. I have the authentic version on the channel as well which uses cream. Cream definitely gives it a better flavour. Thank you so much
@@ChefJackOvens but can i also meal prep the cream version? , i already madr this one yesterdsy and it was amazing, and i am wondering, does the cream version has wayyy more calories??
Thanks for another great recipe! With your meal prep recipes is it possible to use chicken breast instead of thigh? Would that change the steps much? Thank you!
Add the chicken-breast pieces to the sauce later, so they don't overcook. Ten minutes of simmering before serving, instead of 35-40? Also, I think then you call it 'chicken tikka masala'.
Love the channel, I made your cajun pasta the other day it was delicious, I like a little more spice in my Indian food, would appreciate it if you could do a vindaloo one of my all time favourites, but keep up the good work 👍 enjoy watching all your stuff looking forward to your next video
Hi Jack, love your videos. How is your chicken always so nice and dry when cooking? Mine is basically boiling in juices! Any tips or tricks? I’m using an induction stove top…
You need a hot pan to sear the chicken rather than boiling it. When the pan isn’t hot enough and the chicken is added it will cool the pan too much to the point it won’t heat back up properly depending on the power of your burner
@@ChefJackOvens great, thanks Jack! I’ll turn the heat up next time :) Also, any chance you can do a peanut satay on rice? My local Thai restaurant does the most amazing peanut satay and I’d love to know how to make it at home! Your recipes always come out so well
i made this today. and it was delicious. however im gonna say the amount of sauce i got with this recipe was a lot. compared to the amount of rice and chicken atleast. i'd say you could easily double the amount of rice in this recipe
? This is a thing? I'm not familiar with this one. I'm over 50 but I only found out because my son suddenly announced he was making it, and I had some. I thought it was just chicken fried/grilled in butter and was greeted with this. Basically, I'm here for research. Possibly go out and try to find some in one of the Indian shops nearby. Maybe I'll try making some after. Thanks for the reduced fat recipe, Chef.
No plastic so better for the environment and they’re able to be vacuum sealed which increases food quality when storing and the food lasting a day or two more
You've got gram measurements for everything ... _except_ 0:30 "six cloves of freshly-peeled garlic". About the same as the 30 grams of ginger? If I don't have clarified butter, what happens if I use regular butter? Cook it longer to evaporate the water? Or use oil, coconut fat, or chicken fat?
So I finally got around to trying this and fantastic, I have a question on rice of all things. It always comes out really sticky, I follow the timings to the second. Am I missing something?
Hey mate, thank you for this video. Cannot wait to try this out!! Quick question, what if i dont have a blender :( P.s i tried your tandoori chicken recipe and it is the goods!!! Much love from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Hey! If you don’t have a blender you can leave it chunky. It obviously won’t be a smooth texture but it will still be delicious 👌 Glad you enjoyed the tandoori chicken. 🙏
I'd personally rather have a little extra fat to keep the authentic flavour of butter chicken. This looks like a yummy curry with the yogurt, but to me not really butter chicken. Between 5 servings, a cup of cream really isn't all that much. Love yourselves guys haha
Pat fry the chicken before cooking and make sure you’re not washing it before hand. Also make sure the pan is really hot to allow it to sear instead of boil 🙏 hope that helps

These types of spices are fine, they’ll rise to the top during the cooking process. If you’re concerned about this though, what you suggested is great

Hey Jack just a tip, crush the Kasoori Methi/Dried Fenugreek to release it's flavour before adding in!
That was fantastic... The butter chicken and the rice. I really want to compliment the rice prep enough... Amazing.

Hope you enjoyed it. The pot is essteele per vita
Great to see an alternative to cream in this go-to recipe Jack! Right up my street. Sounds and looks amazing. Cheers from AKL.
Cream is definitely needed for this recipe to achieve the full flavour but it’s still delicious with the yogurt just doesn’t quite taste the same
Thanks Jack. I always use Greek yoghurt instead of cream in dishes. If it has to be cream, I use soy cooking cream. 👍🏻
Great recipe! Definitely trying this one
You Tube won't let me add a like but this looks delicious.
That’s strange! Thank you 🙏
Of course I love the recepes I just need to have the initiative for a tasty alternative to the carbs in the rice. Maybe a flavoursom cauliflower rice.
Hmmmmm, love butter chicken. Thanks Jack. X
You can’t go wrong! I definitely suggest using the cream for a full flavoured dish

Definatley going to try this one!! Thank you!! Where did you get the knife stands from? I love that setup!
for anyone who don't have access to ghee, u can use regular butter, with 2 spoons of peanut butter to give it that nutty flavor that ghee gives.
Please don’t but peanut butter in butter chicken. You can make your own ghee by melting butter until the milk solids separate then drain it off.
I'm waiting for you to cook Indonesian beef rendang
It’s coming!
Love your pronunciation of Garam masala 😅
Oh... This is great but that garam masala would be a little bit hard to find in a supermarket where I live
Hey jack, can i use normal clarified butter instead of Ghee? I want to cook this today, but i dont have any ghee sadly.
Yes definitely 🙏
Hi Chef, is there a reason you bring the rice to a boil without the lid on, and only place the lid on once you reduce the heat?
Hey. It’s to achieve the perfect steam and water evaporation. The rice will be over cooked if you place the lid on straight away
ok yesterday was so tasty got my sub will try this out too

You don't need to put that much of garam masala that many times one time for marinate and one for curry that's more than enough
