I’ll be damn. I am now 71 and retired after 20 years in globally known sporting goods brands and 21 as a headhunter in a best in class comp may.
And I too, read Chip Hilton stories by Clair Bee. Phil remembers it as Chiiper Hilton and he’s probably right.
Sort of like Phil I grew up in a tiny town of 450 in Illinois, but my Dad was in the Air Force. I went to high school of a consolidated group of 1500.
So it was kind of a tug and pull of some of your friends having been all around the free world and those who had not yet been out of the county.
I also read all of the Tom Swift series, which it turns out was written by a collection of ghost writers. I wonder why.
So in hindsight, the exposure to Chip Hilton, who ever lost, but was a humble winner, and to Tom Swift, who was in constant contact with the alien world; was pretty cool.
I played every sport and got a degree in history, while being maybe a half a foot in front of of transformational change over 40 years in business.
I did not play against Walt Frazier, but I did play against Norm Cook, who went to Kansas and the NBA, and Clyde Turner, who went to Minnesota and beat up Luke Witte.
This is just from the first 5 minutes.
Love Phil Jackson, the best coach in any sport ever, and the points are on the board to prove it.

He mentioned Johnny Bach and Coach Lombardi the greatest coach ever and they didn't take advantage of that moment. Lombardi was about leadership but was also about teaching and love and was way ahead of his time with bigotry. He supported and loved the black athletes and later in Washington gay athletes and this was the 1960's. What an opportunity to ask some questions about Bach and how Lombardi a football legendary coach learned to coach basketball and won state titles.
True. Most people don't have a proper appreciation for history; unfortunately, learning about people like Lombardi and Bach is critically important for aspiring athletes and coaches, and for them to not show an interest is their loss.

If you look at Phil’s body structure when they put his whole body in the frame….. his a big guy…… I know he played for the Knicks so players are always gonna be big but a lot of times what I see a player who retired aren’t as big as they where and some how shrank….. Phil is still a big guy

I love how Phil called out Obama for being a self centered narcissist by making appear that he was God and did everything good that happened under his administration all by himself..But ill add that all the things that should have been done that Obama promised on the campaign trail,he seems to have amnesia about..
