I clearly remember the first time I heard your perfection.
Summer going to HS, that’s when I started learning how to play the guitar.
It’s one of those tambay moments sa basketball court sa hapon when I heard somebody play it.
See, I didn’t know its title or who the artists behind it were. I just listened in and as cheesy as it sounds, it spoke to me. Super bonus na 214 pa pala title na nagkataon lang naman na birthdate ko. Haha. Cool.
My husband, knowing the sentimental side of me, thinks (probably until now) that 214 reminds me of someone (a previous love interest) kaya I love it.
But really, it’s a song I sing to myself. It’s a love song for sure. If you listen closely, it is a proposal, a profession of love, a declaration to commit. And I just love its bravery.
Experiencing its live performance played by Rivermaya themselves is such a surreal blissful moment. I tried to hold the tears in, some escaped but I told myself, nope, I’m not going to cry, I’m not supposed to cry, why would I cry. And I thought I’m managing it well until the “So you won’t cry!..” part. Ayun. Buhos. Dun pa talaga sa part na sabi wag iiyak. Biglang umiyak. Ng madami. Haha. Ang taksil. Ang saya.
