If you take a closer look at the first bar, you'll notice that there are two lines of music notated together. The bass line is indicated by notes with stems pointing downwards. Specifically, there's a half note 'A' followed by two quarter notes, 'E' and 'G', which fill up the bar. Separately, the melody line above has notes with stems pointing upwards. It starts with an eighth note rest, followed by an eighth note chord. This chord is then tied to a quarter note, representing beat 2, and then there's a half note rest covering beats 3 and 4. When counting this out, you would say ' 1& (pause)3 4.' Here, '1', '3', and '4' correspond to your bass notes, and the '&' after '1' corresponds to your chord.
Hie sir thanks for ur explanation...but still I am a little confused..... I am sure many others would have the same doubts.... I wish you could redo a video on this explaining every note with its time values and beat..,. By doing so, am sure your channel will get more views and students.... Thank u
@@mintwonders1864 Sadly at the moment I am unable to make another video on the subject due to time constraints. I highly recommend that you seek help from a teacher locally. You could also use a method book like the melbays method to modern guitar to create a better foundation for your guitar learning journey.
Sir one last thing, can u atleast tell me why the stems on the bar 1 ledger line are pinting downwards whereas in bar 15 , it is pointing upwards. please reply sir.
Sir one more question on the first bar, pls dont mind coz I need ur guidance... Sir , why is the stem on the first note A downwards? Also....we have two rest , a quaver rest and a minim rest, a minim on A the first note , A minor chord quaver tied to a crotchet , and two more crotchet on E and G with stem pointing downwards... So how do we arrange the time value of 4/4 in this bar... Please explain or please remake a video... And one last thing....if we look in the 15th bar , we have crotchet on E and G with its stem pointing upwards... What is the difference between the 1st bar(E and G) and 15th bar(E and G).... Sir please dont get irritated with my questions... I really want to understand... Help out... Thanks in advance....❤😊
K. Sir, to my knowledge, in bar 1, the first note A has two counts , the last two notes E and G should have one count each.. which would total up to 4 counts. But what about the eight note rest, the A minor chord time value and the minimum rest... Please correct me sir... Thank u for ur patience ...🙏🙏
Sir, the first rest covers 1/2 beat,Am minor chord with the quaver covers 1/2 beat, again A minor tied to a crotchet covers 1 beat and the minimum rest on the third line covers 2 beats.. so according to my knowledge all these together covers 4 counts/beat..
Why don't you play the complete song at the beginning of your lesson?
You're right. It makes the video almost useless.
I can do that from now on.
I really like how you follow the sheet music. Great lesson. Thanks
Glad you like it!
I liked the lesson thank you
Glad to hear that.
Can you do a note value and rest analysis of this piece... The first bar is a little confusing...

Look at the notes with the stems pointing down and total the time value and post your reply here.

I mean the minim rest (not minimum)
@@mintwonders1864 now count the rests and the chord with the stem pointing up.
