    Excellent installation video! I gotta do a 2010 this morning in Columbia SC for a customer & your video popped up 2nd but looked the most accurate & professional. Keep up the excellent work!

    This head unit has an internal amplifier which requires a direct 12 gauge power wire ran to the battery.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Incorrect as this unit only produces 20 watts rms @ 4 ohms per channel. The Sony DSX-GS900 does 45 watts RMS @ 2 ohms which amperage draw requires a direct lead to the battery.

      @@ProvoBeastAudio My mistake. Apologies. Thank you for the videos.
      If I could pick your brain for a moment?
      If I did run a 12 gauge power wire directly to the battery would it still be fine to use the harness provided ground? instead of the 12 gauge separate ground wire? Thanks so much

    Should the battery be uplugged first before starting or is it ok to replace radio with battery still connected?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

      Always a good practice to remove the negative terminal off of the battery before you start your install!

    In your older video you ran a 12v wire to fuse box. This harness does not require you to do so. I already purchased the access Xsvi 9003-nav. Do I have to run wire to fuse box with this one. Thanks so much for the video!

      Nope, shouldn't need to at all as the Axxess harness is a smart harness.

    I have a 2008 VW Jetta with a factory amp in the trunk...would this setup work? More specifically the radio wiring harness adaptor.

    Does the amp turn on wire not connect anything on the wiring harness?

    Hello mate. What is the reason of the Crux SWRVW-52 Radio Wiring Harness Adapter in that case? As i can see you don't have any steering wheel buttons. I do have a Skoda Octavia VRS that uses exactly the same setup like this Jetta and i am not sure how to install an aftermarket head unit without having any issues with Canbus etc. What is going to happen if i don't use any of these Crux SWRVW-52 Radio Wiring Harness Adapter? Thank you very much.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See the description at the list of parts as it differentiates between the two harness options. Customer brought us the steering wheel control harness version even though that feature wasn't equipped.

    How would I know if I have a factory amplifier on my 2010 jetta se, I want to install a double din and I have a basic harness will this work

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it will work. And if you had the amplifier, it is generally under the front seat.

    When I did a new install on 2009 Jetta the receiver came on with the keys out and wouldn’t turn on. I read something about a switched power wire that needs to go to the fuse box. Is that accurate?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it's all dependent on whether you used the right harness adapter or not. Individuals run a wire to the fuse box because they are not using the correct harness that generates an accessory at the radio from the canbus of the VW. If you have the right harness, no need to run wire.

    • @lyykuppi
      @lyykuppi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, the more expensive harness has that canbus feature but a cheaper harness has a red wire to connect somewhere where you get power when turning the key.

    Will there be a battery drain issue or does the crux module solve that?

    Do you need a Crux adapter on a 2012 Golf?

      Any VW early 2000 and newer require a smart harness, yes.

    Thank you for these videos. I've ordered the parts through your links. I have an 06 Jetta TDI manual shift. Will the backup camera wiring method work the same way, I mean, will it send a signal telling the radio it is in reverse? Also, can you explain, or do you have a video on how/where to run a bluetooth microphone to the head unit? Thanks again.

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, will work just the same. We installed our bluetooth mic in the A-pillar corner location (by the mileage sticker), ran the cable down the weather seal, and to the radio cavity.

    Did the sound work bc when I hooked my aftermarket radio I get no sounds

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You may have a factory amplifier which isn't turning on with the new radio. You may have the wrong harness, or wired it incorrectly. Generally there is a blue / white wire on the radio which triggers the amp to turn on. That needs to be connected to the radio's remote turn on.

    Hi Provo. I want to put an aftermarket radio in my 2012 jetta. I actually have the same SWRVW-52 for my kit. There's the VSS wire, so when do I know if I need to hook that up? On the radio wiring, there's also a Parking Brake Input. Is that something I have to dig in my car for?

  • @klaushg

    do you need to tap into the fuse box like you did in the previous video using the crux wiring harness. I purchased an atoto a6 pf and the crux socvw-21. will in need to tap into the fuse box with this setup?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope, as the crux harness produces the accessory wire from the canbus signal.
