@@derrickstorm6976 It's a very technical way to describe a shotgun:
Something is accurate if it repeatably hits on or near the target and precise if those hits are always in the same place.
Stalingrad is accurate and precise.
Get Swirsky on it. Torp reload cooldown reduction after 7 torp hits. Its like having a Halland strapped on each side.
Isn't it every 8 torp hits?

If you got 8 torp hits on a bb already the match will probably be over, even in this ship.
Ok, on just hearing the concealability, secondary, and torpedo statistics, my first thought was: Is it April 1st already??

secondary pen and accuracy are the same as French BB (no enhanced German BB pen / accuracy)
For the trivia interested peeps:
The name should be read as "Karl the 14th Johan", or "Karl den fjortonde Johan" in Swedish. Fjortonde = [fyor-ton-deh].
King Karl XIV Johan was born in France as Jean Bernadotte, and was a field marshal to Napoleon. When he became king of Sweden he brought French cuisine, introducing the Swedish people to eating the Boletus edulis (porcino/porcini) mushroom. It has become one of the most popular and well-known mushrooms in Sweden, and the common Swedish name for it is of course Karljohan! :D
Slightly more farfetched trivia:
- Karl-Johan is an uncommon but existing double name in Sweden, and a nickname for it is "KJ". Maybe less of a mouthful for non-Swede CCs? :D
- Before marrying and moving to Sweden, Karl XIV Johan had the nickname Belle-Jambes - "beautiful legs" - because his successes with the ladies. Not sure if that will be applicable to the ship...
- Karl XIV Johan was born in the French province Béarn - the same as the French premium carrier VI Béarn is named after!

@@majnjord Also, fun trivia: During the Napoleonic Wars, when Napoleon invaded Swedish lands on the continent, he expected that his former field marshal would be loyal to him and not kick up a fuss. I don't remember the exact words Karl XIV Johan used, but he said something to the effect of "My loyalties lie with my country, and I will defend her." - So he did!
Why the naming convention of Karl the 14th Johan instead of Karl Johan the 14th?
@@businesscasualsauron Not only did KJ defend Sweden, he was instrumental in the formation of the 6th Coalition, drew up the Campaign Plan the Allies followed that defeated Napoleon with the Trachenberg Plan, defeated two of his friends, Oudinot and Ney, in key battles, delivered the death blow at Leipzig and also led a diplomatic campaign in Germany that detached all the medium German powers from France. Suffice to say that Napoleon made a massive error turning his former marshal against him, for really no gain as Swedish Pomerania meant nothing to France, when Bernadotte's natural inclination, and policy at the time, was to be allied with France.

Exactly becouse more torps on cruisers and bbs is exactly what the game needs…
It kinda feels like cruisers are the new torp boats (dds) and dds are the new light cruisers

I was that Schlieffen, but I hesitated to push against the two frenchies, so I went middle. Took care of the Cherbourg and helped with the Musashi and Venezia towards the end. Good game

Curious if you'd be willing to revisit the T9 RB Hector for another review? The devs gave this ship improvements in 12.5 to address the heal and also 12 km torps upgraded from 10km. I'd like to know if you think Hector is worth the investment after these much needed quality of life improvements?
@Potato Quality, the irony starts with the name. That Karl XIV was born Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte and was, of all things, a Marshall of Napoleon. Also one of the main powers behind the Coallition which won The Battle of Leipzig :D
I guess the combination of 12 guns and relatively short reload means they don’t feel too bad

Just watched maltese knight play this ship and he played 2 games with this ship and he got the same about the same score that you got in your first game but it took him 2 games to compile it.
Yeah cos MN show us just normal struggle in randoms...PQ show the best game he had :D
So thats one of the reasons they are changing concealment when secondaries are firing.
Also, Karl Johan gets the odin treatment just like Odin. MB nerf right after showing it by the CCs with the old reload.

10.6km concealment hit me so hard out of left field, I had to go take a lap, bro @-@
So it's a different Rupprecht with better concealment, more HP, shorter range secondaries but longer range torps. I like Rupprecht, but not sure if this one is better.
BTW: why choose expert reloader and not more fires? Better imho for secondaries.
This looks cool. Should be Steel or Research Bureau though as it's such a different playstyle for BB's. Of course if it's for Dub's then there will just be a load of them around in next to no time and WG will cash in

REALLY wish you would have edited your vid to add a comment about the Captain build change from Grease the gears to Brisk. I paid 525 doubloons to respec, followed your build, then had to pay another 525 doubloons 30 seconds later.
I remember encountering this once or twice on the enemy team and that player was having a field day...... we got our asses handed to us in a torn Wal-Mart bag.
12:09 Turret traverse seems to be joint best with Tier 9 BBs, not sure what would count as “good”.

usn cruisers ask for a rollback to the radar nerf done to give a chance to dds to run away after spotting.

It was nerfed? I already got it and the main battery reload time is 25 seconds without the recharge on the last slot and 22/23 seconds with it

looks like germany traded a Graf Spee and slapped a turret on with missles for torpedoes....85 knots is nuts with a 13.5K range.

This is the first ship War Gambling has put out in a good long while that I'm actually interested in. I guess that means they'll nerf it the day after I pick it up.

Not enough pen on those secondaries for them to be really usefull, it's a pity this a dubs ship. I kinda hoped it would be a RB ship.

Ok, having played Karl Johan a few times now, I can say that this ship not only lives up to the hype, it exceeds it. This ship is an absolute BLAST to play. Expect the nerfbat.
SOP for Wargaming: make strong ship, make people buy it, then nerf and move on to next strong ship
