    Mr. Wranglerstar, My name is Joey and I am using my mothers account to put a comment up. I am 13 and to young to have my own google account. I think that your videos are very helpful and inspiring in a lot of things that we do in my family. I am nearly an Eagle Scout and am the First Officer in an organization called Trail Life which means I am the leader of the boys who attend in my troop. I think this trauma kit would be extremely helpful in my treks and to help my fellow Trailmen in case they are in need of such services out in the wilderness. In your videos I especially like how open you are in your faith and how you seem to include your family in most of your videos. Also the way you are bold and outgoing about your faith in your videos have inspired me to try to become more outgoing in the way I spread Christianity among the people I meet. I also like how you used to do the manly manners time at the end of your videos. This has helped me as a growing and maturing adolescent boy to see how I should act and conduct myself in my life and toward my wife, when I get one, on top of what my dad has taught me on how to act and conduct myself accordingly. Thank you for all you do, Joey

    The world needs more men like you. Sheparding the lost with your tremendous knowledge of the lord and the skills of self sufficiency. Both of which are deeply lacking in our current society. We need more men to teach kids how to be self reliant and to love their family.

    Great little kit for people who enjoy the outdoors and don't want to bring the whole medicine cabinet. You can truely tell if you have a good kit with you when you open it up, and what you need is right there. The satisfaction in that moment that you get when you know that you will be okay, and make it back home from deep in the woods is,,, priceless. Thanks Cody for posting this you may have just saved a life in the future even if someone makes a kit on there own just from watching this.

    Just became acquainted with Skinny Medic about a month ago. As a former SAR-EMT, like you I am amazed at how many folks risk so much in dangerous hobbies and jobs, and don't carry a personal trauma kit. I still keep first aid supplies with me at all times, but realized I need to upgrade as my gear is 15 yrs old. My income is limited(disabled senior) so it's happening slowly starting with a CAT tourniquet. Your presentation is one of the best I've seen on Utube--straight forward and spoken from the heart. Thanks for getting this important message out to the masses.

  • @walkingbush
    @walkingbush 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    +wranglerstar, I'm thrilled to see you promoting folks having a trauma kit. I for one would advocate having the tourniquet separate from the vacuum packed kit. I've hosted the Dark Angel Medical trauma class several times now, during which we watch a video of a guy bleeding out in 17 seconds. I would want immediate access to a properly prepped TQ without having to fight through the packaging to get to it. 20 seconds isn't much time to access and apply the TQ and that's a very realistic time frame that would be required. Skinny medic does awesome stuff and makes a great kit, I would just have a second TQ outside the kit and properly prepped (very important!). I will likely be hosting Dark Angel Medical again in the near future in the Clackamas, OR area if you would be interested...

    It's funny how timing of things can work out. I'm a huge advocate of helping others and it's what made me appreciate your mindset in your early videos. I have evolved as most do and have realized how weak my trauma treatment skills are. Which is the irony of this posting lol... I've heard of Skinny medic in the industry so I'm off to check it out now. Keep on giving back Cody!

Thank you for your inspiration and positive moral attitude that you put out in every video. I've carried similar items in my work/computer back pack ever since the Boston bombing - not to be a cynic, but it seems that traumatic injuries & becoming a first rsponder seems more and more likely. Having a few key items with me is easy and Skinny's Medic kit is the perfect solution! Thanks for sharing this Wranglerstar; another great post.

  • @dring219
    @dring219 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Simple and practical , when I was a wrecker driver many years ago , I had seen EMT's use similar items . Then in construction , I was the First Aid man , took basic and OSHA classes . One of those would have been very useful to have on site . Fortunately now I am no longer in such dangerous settings , and a Basic First Aid Kit is all that is needed around here . Very nice , thanks for showing us about these .

    For those of us who live in the middle of nowhere, it is always great to have a good all around trauma kit. We normally keep a good First Aid kit but to add some specialized kits is very smart and thinking outside the box. We must be prepared in order to continue working on our homesteads. Thanks for the video and your explanation of the kit and why it's needed. God Bless

    I like how compact and simple this kit is, yet still with lots of capability. I agree with your philosophy on the tourniquet, that it is better to lose a limb than to bleed out. Although red cross no longer teaches using a tourniquet in first aid, I can imagine a chainsaw to the thigh being a situation where even very strong direct compression may not be enough to control the bleeding.

    I love Skinny Medic's videos! I love having the stuff others don't have when needed! I was involved with an accident while shooting guns and I improvised and cut my friends shirt off of him with my knife (that I always have) and used it as a tourniquet and wound dressing. Would much rather have this! These are the things you need to fix a big problem!

    Well if winning one from you wasen't meant to be. I will be buying one. Since I started watching your channel two years ago I have restored quite a few vintage axes, primatives and woodworking tools. Also now have several swedish axes. I even went out and bought a new Husqvarna saw and grandberg sharpener so i can go make my own firewood for my garage woodburner instead of buying it like I always did in past years. This year was the first winter that I burned wood that I made. There was a strange sense of pride knowing I was warm because of my own hard work! Keep up the great work Cody. God Bless

    Cody, I love your videos and this would be a great addition to my hiking pack. When hiking in the Shenandoah National Park (VA) with my wife, we came across a woman a who had fallen and hit her head on a rock. This produced a major gash and she was bleeding pretty steadily. I had some stuff to stop the bleeding and get her stable enough to walk her to her friend's car, but it was definitely insuffcient. This product would have been a huge help in a case like this. As you know, these accidents happen more often than people would like to think. Keep up the good work! I love you channel!

    I just recently completed my Red Cross Wilderness First Aid certification and this would really round out my first aid kit I carry while teach field geology classes! With 200+ college students who are used to being in Houston, TX all thrown out into Big Bend National Park or rural Montana, there is always a high risk for severe injury.

    Kits like these are also good for anyone who works in any type of dangerous environment. My day job is in the medical field, but on the homestead I work with my tractor on the weekends a lot. This video is making me think about carrying a kit while I'm out there working with heavy equipment which I never thought of before. It could even be stowed in the toolbox on the tractor. I took a class with Dark Angel medical and have been a huge TQ advocate since. One thing that you want to make sure of is that there is something covering the TQ, the sun will erode the strength of the materials over time. Awesome kit. I was a civilian medic for awhile, and I make kits like this for my friends all the time. I've never thought about selling them. While it's a good business idea, it's also incredibly important to get good products like this out and into the hands of people you can save. I can't tell you how many kids I've looked at that are just garbage. They can't take care of massive trauma, or have inferior quality supplies. Good video.

    It's funny last week I pulled my families' first aid kits and did an assessment on what type of situations I could handle and I know I don't have the items to deal with a trauma event. So last Friday I said I would put together 2-3 level 2 trauma kits for the house and vehicles because I truly feel that if something serious happened and I didn't have the tools to even attempt to help and there was a life lost because of inadequate kits I don't think I could ever personally live that down. It's the same idea with firearms for defensive purposes. Hope for the best, be prepared for the worst. I'll be checking out skinny medic's channel, thanks for the recommendation Cody.
