And in Portugal you can run into the President on the beach, sunbathing with no guards around him or anything. You can literally go up to him, bare-chested, and ask for a selfie. And he'll take it with you. No security will intervene, nothing.
I wonder how a North Korean would react to something like that.

Hell as an American that flabbergasted me, then again we have a political system where half the country thinks the current president is equal to a dictator and the other half sees him the second coming of Jesus... well more so with the last guy, the current one has almost-but not quite- half thinking he's a dictator but unlike the orange toddler man the current goober doesn't have a fan club, just people who think he's better than the last one 🤷‍♂️

The old king Olav the fifth of Norway often took the tram with all the others out to the forest to go skiing. With only one assistant. He was the most beloved king that ever lived. I met the priminister in the mountains on a ski trip. I fell on a very steep hill, and ended in front of a man on skis. I looked up, saw it was the priminister and he didn’t even help, he stepped OVER me!!

I was stationed there in 01-02 and I have been all over area 1. It is incredible to see the fighting positions and the way they faced. They were dug in on both side threw out the whole northern part of the south. It’s brutally cool and such rugged train. They fought like hell and God knows I love them. God bless your father. I also went to the Korean War museum and man I was blown away. You should go if you ever get the chance. Just go hiking and I’m sure you’ll find an old fighting position. If it faces south then it’s a NK position. If it faces north it’s one of ours.

I think it has another meaning. Ancient Romans, although they conquered those regions, didn't trust at all the local rulers- which were appointed by themselves, to say it all- because they thought these local government people to be as much hostile to them as the rest of the population was. So that's why they used to say they would rather trust more a pig (the stupidest animal for their culture) than someone from Palestine specifically.

Yeonmi you keep your flag flying high and be proud of what you have achieved doing these great clips. I just wish there was a way to stop this sort of terror in our world. I saw this Korean drama on Netflix about a South Korean girl who crash landed her hang glider in Norh Korea (it was cute and different, I've never watch them before but now I have lots of them on my watch list) Although they did portray some of the things I've heard you mention, some of it was not. Do you think the film makers made it better than it really is because it would be too sad? The woman that crash landed didn't seem to have any concept of Norh Korean life - that they didn't have running water etc. Is that accurate - are South koreans unaware of what goes on in North Korea, or do people know?
I understand that this is a series and not real, I'm just curious and I kept thinking about you throughout watching it.

    • @afiwolf2008

I think you are talking about crash landing on you.. A North Korean helped the production team with it so it's portal of North Korea is somewhat real.
