I bought a 2023 MDX Type S a month ago! LOVE THIS SUV!!! The ONLY thing that I feel they could have done better was the mpg. I feel like it should get 20-22mpg combined. Barely get 16-17 combined in this thing.
So the dynamic, sporty type S, which the geniuses at the Marketing department claim is so great, are all dependent of what customers know based kn the NSX. But let us digest first MDX is not a NSX. Car with light carbon components, SUV that weights 4900 lbs.. While it may look very nice, great design, it is only about 1.5 second faster than the other MDX trims. 355HP may sound like a lot of HP, but BMW standard engine online 6, base engine is 335 and performance engines on the ither variants can pump 400+HP. The standard MDX is a winning combo minus the fact its a gas guzzler. You buy an MdX to move people and cargo when needed. The MDX should have had electric motors like the ones in the NSX, that would have increased power and made it less of a gas guzzler with better MPG. Anyways, i own a 2011 MDX base model with SH-AWD. I love my car even with 110k miles and the 3.7 6 cylinder engine has great torque.
@@lockheedload while i would not consider a X3, i would definitely look to X5. By the way, if you never drove or own an MDX, i can see why you liked it. I own a 2011 MDX with SH-AWD, i come from an era of real wood interior, supple leather and 3.7 6 cyl engine. So now that i drove a wimpy 2024 MDX Advanced with Piano Black PLASTIC because that EXUDES LUXURY according to the marketing team of Acura. It’s impossible that I could think, i am getting a better car than what i have been driving since 2011 which was made in Japan 🇯🇵. 300HP under the hood is a lot of fun for a 4800lb SUV, while efficiency does not exist, you di have torque and plenty of HP to do it all and the torque vectoring is amazing from my 2011 MDX.

I get 17 - 18 combined on my Mdx aspec. You should be fine. I love to get the type S but it wasn’t available at that time
I do more highway driving that is probably why my number is higher
I own a. 2011 mdx and city driving i get 16 MPG, highway i can get 20-21
You didn’t do an exterior review which is a let down. Rest of the video is good insight on what to expect
The exterior shot came out way too windy! I know I wasn’t too pleased myself

I left my x3 m40i for the mdx type s. I wouldn't look at a regular mdx. different strokes for different folks.
