... and the son-in-law still needs a drivers license to operate it. There would not be less trafic accidents if no basic training in use and license was required.
@@nunereclipsereborn Well, actually there is - the checks relates to the capabilities necessary to operate a car safely, namely eyesight and other health factors. The checks should obviosuly be relevant and proportionate to the risk of the item in question.
@@nunereclipsereborn Call it what you want. A check is a relevant check for the issue at hand. Also to drive a car, an education and sanity check is part of the process.
What point is that? You pass laws but that doesn't mean anyone will follow them. I've known of people who've bought a car, DID NOT insure it, DID NOT register it and drove it around for weeks or months. Laws HAVE to be enforceable. How would you enforce a law where I sold a gun to my uncle? If I want to sell my gun online, how would you enforce that? The ONLY people that this would affect are people who CHOOSE to obey the law.
Even if that were the case, which I highly doubt, people choosing to obey the laws would still likely reduce gun deaths, as most of them take place as accidents or heat of the moment type things within a family or a group of friends, who aren't planning anything in the way of mass murder.
The analogy of trying to buy or sell a car between private parties does not hold water either, because we all know of persons who have bought a vehicle and failed to license and register that vehicle legally and are involved in a traffic collision without insurance or any other financial responsibility.
Until the government does its job with existing laws there is no reason to add more laws. As a matter of fact since the government does not enforce the laws, why not repeal the laws that the government does not enforce?

Why does Piers have to be employed by the U.S.? Send him back. Uggh.
He was employed by a private corporation. Not the “U.S.”....
Stupid and useless comment.
His car analogy would have been great if there was a provision in the constitution that granted a right to own and drive a car.

@@mufflejoy Except we don't have background checks for issuing driver's licenses or learner's permits.

I want to know if someone is mentally sound before they get their own tv show on CNN!
No one at CNN is mentally stable
he used a car analogy but people don't buy a car to murder someone intentionally same with legal guns, they buy them illegally if they are a gangster.
Are there American on the air in England? Short answer, no.

Criminals have a different mentality, they see things different from others.

Abortion kills more people than guns. Ban abortion then we can consider gun laws.
