I dunno if I should tell you this, but I found about 60 hours of bonus material for just the LOTR!!! The DVD extras come to about 80 items, all more interesting than the last!
One of the only good parts of them if we're being perfectly straight about it. I mean most of that people that were working on it knew that it was going to be disaster the second they came back to film the second one because then they were told there was going to be a third and they were like "****" All of them knew it was going to be bad right away. And Peter Jackson obviously knew it was going to be bad. he looks like someone whose entire family has just been murdered every time you see him on set. and Evangeline Lily definitely knew as well because her agent told her that she was going to be in a love triangle which she was promised would not happen. and the moment youre love triangling an obscure side character, then you're just fishing for content to fill time because you're just stretching content that was already being stretched in order to fill two movies into three movies.
@@Velereonics Yes, they were stretched but I disagree, am clearly in the minority but don't care. As a lover of the Hobbit (the original and best) over LOTR in general, I still enjoyed the movies immensely.

The quote I saw was that he 'stayed too long and wasn't interested in going back'. I know some journalists are interpreting that as him 'detesting' the movies but that doesn't seem to be it at all. From everything I've read, Hugo Weaving is a stage actor who isn't personally invested in his famous Hollywood roles, be it Elrond, Agent Smith, Megatron or Red Skull, and he's perfectly up front about that but in no way unprofessional. For whatever reason, it seems to rub people the wrong way.
It's funny. Every time I hear about Hugo, it's always about how he doesn't like this or that role lol. Think at this point, he's just trolling and actually loves the parts he plays. Otherwise he wouldn't take'em 😅
Watched Hacksaw Ridge the other day. Every roll Weaving plys is unique, and he gives his all and simply nails it. It's a crime that he still doesn't have an Oscar.
They must’ve felt so out of their element being on stage actors in a movie trilogy that was 90% green screen. I think they both took comfort in knowing the other felt the same way.
Their is a behind the scene where you see McKellen sitting alone in a completely green decor and can't get into acting since he need to play the scene alone. He broke down in tears and really contemplated just quitting the movie , it's really sad.

In the Hobbit book there is a very nice description of him: 'He was as noble and as fair in face as an elf-lord, as strong as a warrior, as wise as a wizard, as venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer.' I think Weaving is good but that last part does not shine through much in the PJ films. While I don't think Rings of Power is perfect, I appreciate Robert Aramayo's opportunity to explore some more emotion with the character.

Green screen was not used that much 'til the end of The Two Towers, and in The Return Of The King. You need to see "The Making Of" extensions of the movies. It becomes clear that REAL sets were used for the most part. When they built Edoras on top that mountain - it was a protected conservation area - which they then had to completely restore to its original condition after the filming was done.

Mostly because the studio wanted it to be in 3D. They couldn't use the same kind of forced perspective that they did in LOTR and needed another solution for scaling down Bilbo and the dwaves next to Gandalf.
I don't understand what people think is wrong with the graphics in this move? It looks pretty good to me, especially for the time in which they were made. To put it in perspective, these movies was released a few years before the Xbox Series X, which is the most powerful gaming console ever. But they still managed to use old technology and make it look about as good as a cutscene in an Xbox/Windows exclusive from the future! I don't know how they made this movie with only Xbox One and maybe PS4 technology, but they probably could afford 4k resolution TV:s and the elite versions, which was way more powerful with several GB of storage and extra RAM.
You know movies can be great when the actors are having fun and love coming into work. Actors sells the story. Not saying story can never be good but actor bring it into life.
I love Hugo Weaving, he was brilliant in Priscilla, brilliant in this and in The Matrix and I saw him in a series many years ago before the others that people might not remember called Bankok Hilton with Nicole Kidman & Denholm Elliot which was fantastic. I was gripped. If you get the chance to see it I would recommend.
I forgot I was watching a short and was immediately so invested I was surprised and disappointed when it looped. I was ready to settle in for a whole documentary

I love seeing this after seeing Ian struggling with his shire scenes at the beginning of the movie. He must have been eagerly waiting to see Hugo again when he was doing those scenes.
Its amazing Peter had to work with actors unaccustomed to green screen and managed to create such an amazing world on film in spite of all the resistance.
This makes me very happy seeing Ian having fun, some of the beginning scenes were difficult for him since he had to be alone. I think it was Peter Jackson that made a Gandalf appreciation day for him
I really enjoyed the Hobbit films. The only bad thing was the over exaggeration in the fight scenes. Especially when the Hobbits escape the dungeons and then the entire fight scene at the end.
Your one of the few people I know that still like lord of the rings it’s just this trilogy made my childhood and I am so happy when I see your videos from time to time thank you for the effort u put in these videos

I wanted to see Elrond going Agent Smith all over the Orcs and Nazguls while wearing shades.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of these Hobbit movies, it's nice to see people having fun behind the scenes.
I'm convinced this is how Elrond and Gandalf behave when they're left alone.
Both are treasures to the world of story telling

I really enjoyed the Hobbit films. The only bad thing was the over exaggeration in the fight scenes. Especially when the Hobbits escape the dungeons and then the entire fight scene at the end.
Is not fair imo they make so muchomey while having so much wholesome fun even those as extras where happier than hell to even be part of it
