There are so few of restorers on youtube that actually tell the history of what they are restoring, but it really adds to my enjoyment. Thank you both for such great education and fascinating videos.
I agree! Plus there are so few real restoration channels! I’m so tired of the channels that have clearly purposefully ruined stuff just to “restore it”
@@Mountain_Man Many, if not most will do what the client wants. Often that is to make a pretty display without a care for the originality of the piece. You can't blame the restorers for wanting to see a profit for their work.
Your attention to detail is far superior to any I've seen on TH-cam. This piece, which was little more than a door stop, is now a working piece of antique history. It turned out beautifully. I love your channel. Keep up the great work. ❤
Thank you for your positive comment on my video. Your support and appreciation are very important to me. I strive to create content that is interesting and valuable to you. Oh what a delight! Spent the day working on refinishing a 1940's waterfall desk, then came in to a Veradona video! Life is good. Seriously cool device and beautifully restored. Your attention to detail and problem solving is a joy to behold. And Veronika's explanation at the end is just so perfect. You two do such fantastic work! So glad I found your channel. Thank you (again!) for posting; you two just make life better. Take care!
Many thanks Dee for your regular visit to our channel. We are glad you found us and continue to follow us, we are delighted. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
What always amazes me with these older items is how rough the milling and machining were. We are so used to modern machines and very tight tolerances. So when you see bore holes with rough edges or casting marks and lines you wonder how they even let this get sent out (forgetting our modern biases in such things). And watching how they work so well once restored is relaxing actually.
Yes, I agree with that, but even if the products were once cast with all the mistakes and irregularities, they were always beautiful and fully functional in the final. Thank you Walter :)
I'm 74 and my Grandfather had a shoe repair shop in Salem, Ohio, USA and I cut many leather soles for him when small. Hand crank and all. LOL thanks for them memories. Fabulous renew job done!
I try, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes it is necessary to ream or grind off a part or screw and replace it with a new one, which makes the renovation longer. Thanks for watching Harry. Greetings from the Czech Republic :) Radek
Ура! Наконец-то долгожданное видео. Вы же для меня как колыбельная по воскресеньям. Получается, " две недели уже не спал"😂😂😂. Спасибо Вам большое. СУПЕР-ПУПЕР!!!
I have restored at least 25 of these, and learned some tricks from this for sure! Extending the gear puller with a socket was worth the watching right there. Great job!!
Good day. Thank you for sharing this insightful and educational video presentation. While watching the initial video where lubrications were sprayed on every moving part I experienced a flashback to the mid 1960’s when we had to repair and recondition mechanical typewriters (while in the US ARMY). Initially the ribbons and rubber rollers were removed and everything was air-blasted to remove paper dust and detritus. Instead of spraying each individual part the typewriters were placed into a tub or trough and liberally doused with kerosene. Once all the keys and other mechanical parts began moving the typewriter was set on an outside shelf and allowed to air dry. Then the real maintenance could begin. Wishing you and your family a blessed week filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peaceful greetings from NE Ohio, USA.
Wow, thank you for your story. Repairing typewriters must be really complicated when I imagine the number of parts that a typewriter has... And moreover, when you didn't have the opportunity to take a photo of everything at the time, where and which part belongs... Hats off :) Have a nice day from the Czech Republic
Miluji, když si koupím starou věc ( teď zrovna sleduji aukci 3 starých jízdních kol) a můžu ji rozebrat, opravit, vrátit zašlou slávu. Pro mě je to radost a relax. Díky za tvoje renovace. Některé tvé praktiky používám. Pavel 🇨🇿
When you post a new video it is always special. This one was great. I probably sound like a broken record. Watching the disassembly, restoration, and reassembly is always a treat. The narration your wife does is always informative and enjoyable. Thank you both for another wonderful experience.
Another beautiful restoration my friend. Most people wouldn't even look at that never mind getting it working and looking brand new. Until next time. Sending massive love from 🇮🇪

The shaving/beveling function comes in handy, if you have to overlap some pieces to extend them! Great machine with a heck of small pieces... Thx for showing! 👍👍👍
Another fabulous restoration! I've been watching your restorations for years and was a little giddy to see that you have done a restoration on machinery that was made in a town where I grew up!
Amazing restoration job you did restoring that antique leather machine. Also amazing is how you repaired that one gear with chipped teeth by welding new steel on it and recutting it to like new. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work and a lot of hard work you put into every detail.
Great video, I don't know how you remember where all those pieces go. To me that would be like putting a 10,000 piece puzzle together.😊 Again great job.
Radek, I could watch you restore all day long. You're a very talented man. I was wondering what that was when you were restoring it. It came out beautiful like everything else that you restore. I hope you and your family are doing well. I think of you often, my friend. ~Kevin
