I think for me, it's the lack of a point to it. What is Loot? Where did it come from? What meaningful things might it ever do? Any cool abilities? It just feels like a nest way to force a child character on Jace, and Vraska, without having to cover are they really still that close? Do they want a child? Can't they just do that rhe normal way? Will it tie these two important characters down, and make them unavailable for future stories? I feel like the name is accurate, because it feels like something they found in a random chest, in a video game, off if a roll on the random loot table.
They actually do confirm during the story of Thunder Junction that, yes, Jace and Vraska are still a couple and they have... we'll say decent evidence that they don't seem to be able to have a child the normal way, as Jace puts it "if it were possible, it probably would have happened by now" which I think is a fairly straight forward answer. As for Loot himself, he was in the large Fomori vault in Thunder Junction and he basically has a mental map of the omenpaths, so he makes travel through them much easier of what's the shortest distance from plane A to plane B
People who don't hate Loot: *looking at interesting mtg cards* People who hate loot: Loot, loot, loot, look at loot! loot, loot, loot, loot, looooot. I know you need to farm the algorythm, but geez, all you do is bang the Marketing drum for free and give Wizards more reasons to print more loot.
I’ve never even heard of Loot. 😅 I personally am a fan of Urza. Like him or hate him, he had a lasting effect on the multiverse in the form of his artifacts, Karn, and his students.
Their main problem was in his initial release his official art was divisive that and his importance came from a set that got squeezed into thunder junction because aftermath was so terrible just inherent problems in the company led to loot he could have worked but they just assumed he was a hit that and the story didn’t give loot a chance thunder junction was a bit of a mixed and poor story
Starting a sentence with "xxxxx here" is cringe AF and makes you lose credibility before we even read the rest. In your case it is permissible to lead with "douchebag here"... but other than that just make youre f*cking statement.
Back in the mid 90s MTG attracted PLENTY of younger players. Just look at the success of Foundations! WOTC doesn’t need to include cute Pokémon to attract people 🤷🏻♂️ JMO
Never had strong feelings for him: cool they adressed the fomori tribe (without a single giant card xD), bad they made it a beast and soooo small (fomori lay eggs? The discrepancy in size between him and an adult is very weird)...just a marketeable plushie in a company thirsty for money grabbing frenzied bad corporate decisions...there so much worse stuff in game as a whole. Product fatigue, identity politcs and weird storytelling (tbf the game always had this last one xD), kinda left me uninterested enough to care so much about details like these...
I like loot he makes me think of a orange Stitch
Loot just looks so dumb, it shows how far wizards has left their own style behind.

Treat Loot like Stuffy Doll...
Oh dear Loot, the Jar jar Binks of MTG.

Kinda expected black Aragorn to be on the list. Made me cringe hard.
I like to refer to that one as "ESGragorn".
Loot feels like a Pokemon character being tested in the mtg world. No thanks wizards.

I think the backlash against loot wouldn't be quite so bad if it weren't for Wizards also going all in on Universes Beyond sets.
Wut
@@screwball69 yeah i am with you dude, how about they actually go all in on universes within right? (UB is getting all the love right now)

He’s just a little guy, come on now
Loot is so hated, primarily by Chud gamers, so I kinda like him for that. I like that it has so many older magic players irrationally tilted.
This is heinous, this is blasphemous, and this is wrong. Loot is my child 😭😭😭💔
Cedh player here, austin the 4th is not a cedh card

So what you’re saying is I need to dust off my loot deck and turn it into an archenemy build. “The dominion of the cute” has a certain ring to it
Dust off? The Lil dude isn't even a year old. Still feels like yeaterday... Yet it's already 2025.
The return of the Jedi IS the fourth Star Wars movie if you include the holiday special. No biggie
Was expecting platinum angel
Trick question. The most hated thing in magic is always the deck I play and win with 🙏
This is such a non issue lol. Just another event of magic players wanting to whine over just about anything
Loot ain’t too bad cmon we got plenty more to worry about
Loot is an easy example of what's going wrong with the game.

Rather like the mechanics of the new Green Loot.
While I do hate Loot’s cards, as characters go I hate Niko far, far more. Every set, I hope for WotC to kill him off.
NOT MY LITTLE NUGGET 😭
I hate loot so much, SO SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID!
wallahi, a punishment upon the people of Loot
