Btw, in terms of shipping I offer ground at 5.99 flat rate and 7.99 for priority except if it’s sometying heavy like boots or a jacket and for that 8.50 ground and 12.00 priority. If i eat some shipping on some and gain on others, it probably all works out. I don’t want the shipping cost to be a deterrent to someone buying my item and let them take advantage of my eBay shipping discount.
Love your videos! For items that will be under 1 lb, I have 4 shipping policies set up: Ground Advantage, $5.50, 6.50, 7.50, 8.50. I've gotten pretty good at estimating which one of those will accommodate my item. For everything over a pound I use calculated :)
I do calculated shipping but many times they will calculate a sweater at 2 lbs and they calculate with a 25 inch width box so I always change it to 18-12 inches and it will drop sometimes by half
Wow you found a Brahmin at the bins! That’s amazing. I did recently find RH sheets at a thrift store and paid $5. And another thrift store this week found a Frank and Eileen shirt for $2.38.
I watch you everyday! Thank you for all the tips as a reseller I never stop learning. You have educated me on brands, style, how-to’s and I truly appreciate you. I still have to watch your Linen Videos (on my to do list :-). I haven’t gone to the Bins yet waiting for someone to go with me bc it’s pretty far from my home 😊
I used your link for your steamer awhile back & absolutely love it! I am going to order this sweater shaver because the one I have doesn’t do the job. Thanks for your videos and all your great tips & advice. I appreciate you! 😊
So glad to see you, hope all is well with you at school. I didn't know how good the brahmin bag was when I recorded the video. I hope it sells for $100.
I purchased your sweater shaver and really like it. I was stopping occasionally to pick or brush out the lint that gets stuck under the blades. Then I tried using my vacuum cleaner hose and it clears it instantly. Thanks for your videos! I look forward to them. 😎
“Comfycore” 🤣 When I process my inventory, I bag, weigh and SKU, snap a pic, and then add weight, etc in my listing. I do calculated shipping for everything. I offer buyers Ground or Priority with USPS. I love that my shipping cost will be exactly what the buyer pays. Packing sales goes quickly since everything was set at the time of listing. I live in Central TX, so it’s pretty much $5.50-9.50 for any garment to go to any domestic location. (For global shipping, the buyer pays much more, of course, but my cost is still that range since it goes to ebay in IL). Knowing this range makes it simple for my brain in the pricing and negotiations of items. Another great video! Thank you! PS - you could always do haul part 1 and 2 - we could watch at separate sittings or back-to-back 🩷
I do my shipping costs the exact same way. I offer in every listing ground advantage or priority and they can choose which one they want. I'm new to eBay. I have been on Poshmark for a couple of years & now I just started crosslisting. Ebay is so much different and I'm nervous. I have yet to make a sale, but I just started crosslisting a couple of days ago. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your shipping wisdom with us. So glad you found a system that works for you, and others can learn from you here in the comments! Thank you xo Q
My local bins doesn’t actually use bins for clothing. Instead it’s a conveyer belt system I have not gone enough to know the rotation schedule but there are at least 8 belt/tables. And a few bins for shoes and some hardwares
I do flat rate shipping between $4.99-$8.99, depending on weight. Jeans I usually do $7.99. The only thing I will charge more shipping on, are heavy coats and boots.
That sounds smart. That's a good plan. I live in CA so I can't ship jeans anywhere for only 7.99 (unless the buyer lives in CA) most of my packages have to go across the country. Thanks!
Shipping is intimidating for me. I use calculated shipping bc I heard may times it is the cheapest route to go for buyers and sellers either the Ebay discount. I did have one comment about my shipping cost recently but it was a Sz 3x and I have no idea where the potential buyer lived in comparison to me.
That's so funny because I am intimidated by Calculated Shipping and Flat Rate seems so easy and for you it's the reverse! I like to know exactly what they are paying for shipping because I adjust my listing price accordingly. Like, if a jacket is going to be $20 to ship, I want to reduce my listing price so it's affordable for the buyer. I dunno. We each need to do what makes sense to us right? xo Q
i always sell blnk london in a week or less...great sell through rate! I live in the middle of the country OKC, so shipping is usually cheaper for me, i make everything calculated at 1 lb, ( unless very lightweight like linen or silk I make it 8 oz). I usually make money on shipping even on heavy items. if its close like texas i make a few dollars on each sale.
When you do calculated shipping, are you able to add in the 15% that ebay takes off the total of the order (listing price + shipping price, we are paying fees on the total). I haven't done calculated.
@TheGratefulQueen I'm going through bins withdrawal since they closed ours down 😔 They changed it now that the previous color of the week will be $1.29 on Monday & I think that is how they are trying to get through the older things before the next fate.
That's what I love about having my own business, we each get to do what works for us. Like you do calculated and your dtr does Flat Rate and that works for you two. Thank you xo Q
Hi Eileen in Michigan, great to see you. And yes the bags....The Brahmin was way better than I even knew when I recorded this video. I listed it for $99
Omg I need the brown Ralph Lauren skirt. I think xl sells because not only the people buy it to fit but smaller people buy it to wear oversized. Are the red pants listed yet? I want to buy the red pants with frayed edges
I have had people want me to drop shipping costs. I charge what ebay charges, so short of paying shipping, I can't lower shipping. I do recommend people buying from a closer seller, if shipping is an issue. If people are ever overcharged, I do refund the extra shipping charges.
Really enjoying your videos and learning lots. I wonder how you track your accounting for how much you're buying and selling things for. This is one area I really need to work on!!
